I can say that this is a very visually impressive resort. The buildings have lovely architecture, the grounds are incredibly lush and well-maintained, the rooms are spacious and nice, the staff are diligent, and the food was good. All in all, I enjoyed this location very much.q

I was in Nairobi on a private visit during my birthday week as arranged by my children. The entire hotel rose to receive and celebrate me. I enjoyed the courtesies and excellent arrangements made for my room, feeding and especially my golf sessions. Windsor is an hotel of repute and offered great value for money. I thank the management for a great birthday bash we had with my friends from town. I enjoyed the special sukumawiki and spare ribs specially made at my request. I look forward to holida... Read more

The hotel is built around a golf course in a gated area not far from Nairobi. When you sit in the lounges and the bars, you can imagine what it could have been like 100 years ago. The rooms are nice but not great, but the view of the golf course and the sound of the birds everywhere make up for this. On the food I have mixed feelings. The breakfast was fine. The a la carte menu was ok, but all my colleagues suffered from stomach upset after having the buffet. Since the hotel is not close to any ... Read more

Great golf course, however overall customer care needs improvements. Room service was not very great, it may be better to sit in for meals. The lighting in the room I stayed in was a bit dim, would be great to provide brighter lamps. Staff may need some refresher on customer care, I found room service quite disappointing.

Windsor it's in a serene environment in Nairobi with a good golf course, well trained staff, nice rooms, good bars, nice meals, a well equipped gym, nice bathroom and a quiet one for relaxation. I stayed there while the temperature in Kenya is between 14 and 21 hence no need for air condition, not sure what the temperature will look like during the hottest season in Kenya. No cash dispensing machine in the hotel, but you can access cash from the reception at a fee. Windsor is generally a great p... Read more

I just attended a wedding at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club at the tenth tee today. Its a breathtaking location with the flattering view of the rush greenery of the golf course and the hotel front. As the couple said their vows and the Priest pronounced them husband and wife, the breeze, the swaying beautiful flowers, and the chirping birds around appear to applaud the moment. The wedding reception was equally amazing at the same location. The very warm staff eager to serve you, the ver... Read more

Want a location that gives you the pleasure of a good view at anytime of the day? Windsor is it! From the beautiful golf club to well manicured gardens, Windsor gives you the ambience you need for work or romance. And least I forget there is heating in the pool for really cold days.

Located in a suburb away from the center of Naiobi, the hotel is pleasant and has a excellent golf course. The hotel staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Nice lunchs on the patio. The rooms are large and nicely decorated colonial style. Only problem I had was with the TV set which failed to go on a number of times and had to seek help from reception. Otherwise nice hotel in a serene setting!

The grounds were the most beautiful I have seen in along time. The staff were also great and helpful. The entire place have me a feeling of something antique worth discovering and owning. It's peaceful. Am not a golfer but I was tempted to try out... Anyone wishing to have a royal wedding this place will give you that with its buildings it takes back in an era of ballroom gowns...

From arrival to departure, the service was very good. The complimentary WIFI worked well and quite fast. Room was comfortable but lacked some basics such as tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning and an iron / ironing board. Water from the tap was very brown Breakfast was the best meal of the day Lunch and dinner were OK but room for improvement

This is a great property to visit, both business and leisure. Family type visits are also well catered with numerous sports and leisure activities. For the ardent golfer, the 18hole course is scenic and challenging. Positives Food- Excellent. Recommend the chicken. Grounds well manicured. Service- great Negatives Price on the higher side. The old carpeting could do with a facelift Golf greens not well maintained. All in all Windsor is a great place to visit.

Came to this hotel in June 2014 and stayed for a week. It was my first time in Nairobi. Place is like 2-3 hours drive from the airport including traffic. Its highly secluded but its all worth it. Perfect for business, families, couples and tourist. Offers great view of mountains, forests, green landscapes and nature at its best. Rooms was spacious though a bit old but still maintained. My only complaint was the tap water which was dirty at firts but becomes cleaner once it runs for quite some ti... Read more

The Windsor is a place everyone should have an opportunity to visit. It is beautiful. The landscape and buildings will definitely take your mind off the hustle and bustle of life. It's quiet and serene and a great place to just relax. The staff are also very friendly. My only disappointment was the quality of the buffet menu given the price. The food was lackluster. But other than that, my family enjoyed being there for dinner.

Well where to start from . Boy! The reception was good and beautiful. The place has one of the largest golf course in town. However not ideal for large business meetings . The food is substandard it was like I was in a 3 star hotel (buffet). The rooms have this victorianfeel but poorly managed the floor boards creeking and never been waxed in the last 10 years. The bathroom. ....The loos have the brown film and bathtubs have brown stains. The service team is friendly. Would recommend for... Read more

One would be hard pressed to believe that this was in the heart of Nairobi. It was quite a distance away from both the airport and the centre of town, but well worth the long car ride. Its kept to its old world charm - with the rustic look and feel of the rooms. it was cold that time of year and could do with more heat. The bathrooms need a serious overhaul

Stayed her for three days on a work trip, although about an hour from the airport the hotel felt safe and the grounds were lovely. I stayed in room 117 which was on the ground floor with views overlooking the green golf course and pond, very pretty at dawn and dusk. The only thing to note is that the room walls are thin and you hear a lot of movement from above so I would recommend staying in an upper floor room if you can. There are also a lot of baboons around so ensure you keep your windows s... Read more

If the owners would have spent some money modernising the grand old place then I'd happily pay top-dollar to visit again, but when you compare to somewhere like the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel which is cheaper and far more up-to-date then you have got to question the pricing rationale. I would like to say I'd stay again as I loved the grand old building, the squeaky wooden floors and the general aesthetic and grandeur of the building. But, when they still have the old South African style plugs everyw... Read more

The golf course is really nice. The secluded location allows for fresh air and limited noise pollution. Gladys, Edward, and Sampson in the restaurant were really good. And that's where the good ends and the bad begins. There is nothing else around and you're limited to the same menu every day. Don't plan on prompt service at the poolside restaurant. It was at least 45 minutes from time of order to food arriving at the table. I would understand if it was busy but this was certainly not the case. ... Read more

I stayed here for a work trip recently and felt that the hotel could do with a lot of modernisation. I stayed in a cottage which was extremely cold at night (single glazed windows and no heating). We didn't leave the hotel over 3 days and, with one menu for room service, pool bar and drawing room, we got pretty bored of the food very quickly. Service is very slow and the food was hit and miss. I ordered a takeaway cold chicken wrap on the last day and opened the box to find a hot fajita. We didn... Read more

I have been to Nairobi at least 7 times and stayed in at least 6 different 4-5 star hotels, this one is by far the worst. The rooms feel like they were built in the 60s and have not gotten a makeover or any improvements since opening. Well they have added the TV but that's it, even the mattress springs are so noisy that you think they haven't changed it for the last 30 years. Needless to say that when he comes to lighting or bathroom comfort it's pretty bad On the first day I ordered room servi... Read more

The Windsor Golf and Country Club accepts guests. Everyone was quite friendly. The Pro Shop rented clubs/ had clubs for hire. Pro shop did not have golf tees for sale however. Hmm? Course was beautiful with lots of wildlife including monkeys. Unfortunately the monkeys would not move my golf ball back into the fairway however. Major drawback of this course is that the greens are part grass and part sand and they do not putt true.

We stayed at the Windsor for a week at the end of July while attending a conference. It is an interesting place with beautiful public spaces -- the grounds and the main floor reception area and library, for example, but with private spaces that would benefit from some updating. I can speak only for our room which was called a suite, I think. It was the accommodation available for three people -- two adults and a child. There were two double beds at one end and a shabby sitting area with a pull-... Read more

What strikes you is the old English type set-up for the interior. The lush golf course that stretches from the terraces to beyond. The staff are really friendly as well. There were several conferences happening concurrently but each was held at a considerable distance from each other so yo didn't feel crowded. The food though was average. The roads leading too is good however the signage could be a bit more visible from the junction leading to the road.

Service is a complete joke. Waited nearly 2 hours for an order which was 50% incorrect. Indifferent Management when complained. Expensive steak was cold which was taken back and microwaved!!?? Burger has been on the pass 30 minutes before the chef took it back when we started pointing at it. But he moved it onto a table and then it was served.

This my second visit to the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club this year. I really like staying here although one has to accept that this is a place of many contrasts. Outstanding exterior facilities. Green vegetation with flowers and trees. A golf place for excellence. A sensation of freedom. Rich breakfast and great food at dinner. Outdated and uncomfortable rooms needing urgent modernization or, if they want to keep the style, they should do it in an efficient way so that the guests feel some comfort. This hotel is in need of major upgrades. The beds are very uncomfortable., no A/C. The doors have a gap in the bottom that allow insects into the rooms. The outlets are not up to date, and the television is very old. Seating in the rooms is uncomfortable. The golf course is great, and so is the trail around it. Food is very, very overpriced. Breakfast buffet is very lo quality and slow service.
