I really enjoy staying here because they just get it right. The rooms are quiet and logically arranged to work and relax. The restaurants and bars are pricey but worth it. The gym is great! What really makes this place my favorite in Nairobi is the staff and their attention to detail and customer satisfaction Lots of places are glitzy but this place is excellent. It's Westlands location is a huge plus as well.

Sankara Nairobi is my comfort zone whenever I visit Nairobi. I consider it my second home, home away from home. I stayed in Sankara each time I visited Nairobi starting from 2012 to date. Sankara will remain home whether for business related or family trip. The ambience and services are superb. Keep up the excellent work.

Excellent everything at Sarabi on the roof top Service was phenomenal. Julius ,who came to me many times to check up on everything made it easy to get what i wanted. Love this place, Their Sarabi sandwich and Tandoori chicken wrap, Can't get enough of them. I'm definitely coming back for that recommended steak by Julius.

First time visitor. The hotel is in an extremely difficult part of town. 2 1/2 hours from airport to hotel. Yes, it is true. Everything you've heard about Nairobi traffic is true and then some. Check in easy, but registration requests all ignored. Lower floors reverberate with bass from restaurant. So if you stay here, absolutely request a higher floor. Room service a mess. Got a simple order wrong twice. Lovely decor. But this hotel needs a huge improvement of its human capital's profession... Read more

First and Last time I will stay at this property. Mix up at pick up. Took almost two hours to get to the hotel. Musty room, uncomfortable bed. Poor food quality, stains on the carpet. Not vey well kept at !

I was here with my wife for lunch. Sankara's location is conveniently out of the CBD but very near and easily accessible. The staff are very relational and ready to assist. We had a buffet lunch and the chef was there to personally explain each serving, what it contains and what combinations go best. We particularly enjoyed the seafood on offer and the dried tomatoes :-) The flip side was not so rosy. The signage to the entrance is poorly done and one can miss the entrance and drive on to the ex... Read more

Brought my family for safari and stayed in Nairobi for 3 nights. Hotel was very nice and secure. Bar on 7th floor was lots of fun and the executive lounge was worth the extra money. Julius from the 7th floor made all of us feel welcome and comfortable even tho we were so far from home!

We didn't stay at this hotel; however, we went there for dinner and had the buffet. The service was amazing and the food was some of the best food we had ever tasted. I would highly recommend the buffet. It's about 35 USD (drinks not included) but worth every penny. I will definitely return.

From the initial, late arrival, it was obvious that we were in the care of the hotel staff and they went to all lengths to ensure a high quality experience at the Sankara. Food and wine in the restaurants was very good, as were the breakfasts and service for visiting clients. Rooms were above average size, spotless and nicely decorated with high quality fittings. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Have stayed in most of the top Nairobi hotels and the Sankara consistently delivers. Good rooms. Great service. Superb location. 7th floor pool deck and bar is a great escape with an eclectic mix of local and foreign patrons.

Very good hotel with modern aminities. Nice, secure, neat and clean hotel. Breakfast spread was also lavish. Unfortunately our room was so pathetic. It was at backside, lower floor, facing car park of other blg, As if our room was located in car park.

Sankara met all my expectations and more. In all honesty I appreciated more than anything the great service from the friendly thoughtful staff and this was consistent across all staff. I was there on business and it catered for that. WiFi was good at the rooms and room setup allowed for work to be done. The 7th floor brings the fun and vibrancy of Nairobi right to your doorstep.

This is a great hotel that puts many of its European or American counterparts to shame. Modern, trendy and comfortable, it has a variety of different bars and restaurants within. The stuff are extremely polite and attentive, they really are a pleasure to deal with and nothing is ever too much trouble. The rooftop bar is a great place to relax but take a jumper or jacket in the evenings as it gets a bit chilly. There are a small group of 'working girls' who attend but they are clearly under i... Its a nice break away from the chains. Very friendly and attantive staff in a save neighbourhood. Some nice restaurants and bars within 5min walking distance. Don't expect lush gardens and cosy pool area. It mostly caters to biz travellers. But they do it nicely. Would always come back.

A very good hotel and you do get what you pay for. Upmarket, lovely restaurant and extra pool bar/restaurant on the roof. Breakfast really good, and a good venue for a business function. Rooms clean and modern, everything works and good attentive staff.

I stayed at the Sankara for 3 nights on business and it was a really great experience. Facilities -the rooms are spacious and well equipped the television has a wide range of channels. Service -is exceptional all staff that I cam across were genuinely friendly and helpful yet not intrusive. The front desk and concierge are truly customer service oriented understanding needs and proposing alternative. This was my second time visiting this hotel, first time was a mere 3 weeks after it opened in 2010... The amenities and the service in this hotel is excellent. My favorite is obviously their spa, so professional, beautiful and inviting. I love the rooftop bar, great place to unwind after a long day. The Steak restaurant on the 1st floor is a must, the food is of the highest quality and tastes amazing. I still think about my tuna tartare starter and I wish I could get back sooner... This is... The rooftop bar is great, but the restaurants need a bit of atmosphere/communal area. Rooms are great. Everything you could want. Really good showers; comfortable beds; and one of the best burgers I've ever eaten.

Stayed here twice in the space of 2 weeks in August. Overall, I liked the hotel for the great location close to lots of good restaurants and the Sarit Centre shopping mall. Good security. Mostly friendly staff at entrance, check-in, in the restaurants, at the fitness center, and with house-keeping -- especially Ester who was my night-time turn down housekeeper. Decent main restaurant (Artisan), Swimming Pool and Fitness Center. I liked my room on the 1st stay -- well appointed, nice view and qui... Read more

Excellent staff, tranquil and breathtaking views of the sunset on Nairobi skyscrapers, the rooftop bar is a great place to be over the weekend, they have a lovely DJ and the food was delicious try their grilled salmon on hand cut fries and a side salad.. we felt secure here and definitely will be back. Geoffrey and his team made our evening great despite the huge crowd that turned out for the weekend out.....i know where to hold my upcoming birthday party, the rooftop bar!

Have been staying here on multiple occasions and it is a great hotel if you jot down all the plusses. Firstly the location is better than lets say the tribe hotel or Hemingway. The food is good at all the outlets. The rooftop bar is great and buzzing in the evening. Also one of the few places you get decent quality shisha! Rooms are decent sized, much nicer than the kempinski and you don't have to hear main road traffic. Staff is efficient and professional. Extremely friendly place. Wound recom... Read more

You can't go wrong with the Sankara whether you are in Nairobi for business or holiday. The facilities are terrific, but the people are really what makes the Sankara Hotel truly special. The staff are all top flight and wonderful throughout the hotel. Do ask for a club level room. Their facility is especially great for business travelers. Sharon, Peris, Naomi, Brenda, Evelyn are all so wonderful, and Chef Joseph makes a terrific eggs florenitne/benedict and an interesting array of appetizers ... Read more

This place works for me because of its proximity. Funny enough I think it has great value for money. Security checks can be annoying. Parking at the basement helps. They have a good system for repeat clients where by they would not need all your details at check in again.Breakfast was good. Very comfortable bed. Would not want to get up and I am the kind of person who is up at 6. They were very accommodating when we went during Ramadhan and got served hot breakfast at 4am in our rooms.

Just enjoyed an awesome spiced aubergine, pomegranate and yoghurt salad with seared peppered salmon at the rooftop bar and supper room.... Yum!!! Great light meal after a long flight. My waiter Julius was adorable, took feedback on my martini, and bang!!, came back just as I prefer for the second, and always service with a smile and a chat for a solo traveller :) All round great meal and service for a high end hotel when I often find them quite bland.... I'll be back!!! ???

From the security checkpoint to the check in counters my first impression was that they could improve on welcoming guests. The room was badly decorated and was not cleaned to the high standard I'd expect in a hotel. The bar on the seventh floor however is a nice surprise loved the entertainment. The food overall was nothing to write home about.

I have stayed at the Sankara several times now and it continues to impress me. On the 1sy floor it has a patisserie with the best coffee and tea I have found yet in Nairobi. Service is particularly good at this hotel and it is in a great location in Westlands for business meetings.
