I have worked in Tokyo for a number of years, but only recently became aware of this venue. If you want to see a fascinating "100 step stairway" set of rooms with striking artistic & architectural features (carved, painted wood panel scenes; intricate painted ceilings; pillars carved to resemble tree trunks; a cut shell-inlaid elevator with an overall red and white Japanese 'celebration color' theme), this is absolutely worth a visit. In late February 2015, the property is hosting its annual ... Read more

This is one of Tokyo's most famous wedding halls. The halls look like a Chinese palace, and there are beautiful interior gardens. Gajoen is a 10-minute walk from Meguro Station. Definitely worth a visit and coffee (or a snack).

I visited the historic Meguro Gajoen for a business meeting and dinner. This was my second time there. It is a luxury hotel for Japanese standard. I didn't stay at this hotel in this trip but my business associates did. The hotel has only 27 rooms, both Japanese and Western style. The room sizes are relatively large for Japanese standards. Everywhere you turn inside the hotel was very eye-pleasing. The walls and ceiling were decorated with either Japanese traditional painting or wood craving. Th... Read more

My dear Japanese friend shared this wonderful place with me. She remembered visiting it as an elementary school student. I can only imagine how amazed she must have been at the grandeur of this famous wedding hall in Tokyo near Meguro station. The original hall has been carefully restored, and for a small fee you can take off your shoes and climb the 100 stairs past numerous rooms which are filled with beautifully carved and painted columns and ceilings. I visited twice during special exhib... Read more

What a magnificent building, so much history. We climbed the 100 steps to see the Ikebana displays... such beautiful work to match the rooms. We wandered through the venue after, all very elegant. Wedding photos in progress in the waterfall garden area.

This really looks awesome it's an upscale hotel. I have the feeling that its seriously catered for weddings! Does not get any better than this. There isn't much to really see, but if you are there for an event you should be surprised at the quality of the hotel, even the toilets are awesome!

It's an incredibly pretty man made venue that the Japanese folk like to use for weddings, so if you get there in the afternoon you will see newly married couple queuing up to have their photo taken in the nice spots like next to the waterfalls. Not particularly exclusive, more like a wedding production line. Go in the morning and it's tranquil and very beautiful.

This is an excellent hotel in Meguro, in the same building complex as the headquarters of Amazon and right down the street from the headquarters of Starbucks. It is quite popular with Japanese visitors. The rooms are superb, including tatami large rooms. There is a thatched roof restaurant/cafe area on the ground floor. The hotel hosts different special exhibitions in an older, classic part of the hotel. A shuttle bus frequently takes guests to and from Meguro Station, directly on the Yamanote L... Read more
