Location: a bit of a walk and uphill from Shibuya station, maybe 15 minutes? The shops along the way make the walk fun. Close to shops, bars, restaurants and the Shibuya crossing. Great location! FRONT DESK: nobody smiles and greets customers, everyone is stiff, including the manager. No personal touch, they work like robots and not very friendly, very unlikely of the Japanese hospitality that I know of. The cleaning crew always greeted us and made our day. A simple smile or greeting from... Read more

This hotel was my worst experience out of my entire stay in Japan (and all of Asia!). All my other hotel stays and airbnbs were perfect. Please don't go here, not worth the price or staying in a decent location. If you don't care about service it might be worth it. They also were laughing about something which was just rude. I came to the hotel late at night, after a 5 hour drive. Tired from a full day of traveling they had no concern for my well-being and pointed out that this was a room for ... Read more

We booked a room at Unizo for three people through Expedia. Once we arrived to the hotel after a long 4 hour journey, the two receptionists and manager both stated that the room only occupies two people and the third person will not be able to stay. We decided to go up to the room and drop off our luggage and the one of the hotel staff followed us to ensure the third person does not stay in our room. We provided the booking confirmation which evidences the policy that allowed three people per ro... Read more

This hotel is in a great location but be warned, if you're arriving by train (the Narita Express stops at Shibuya) and plan on doing the 10-minute walk to the hotel, consider the following: there is a bit of an uphill walk; the sidewalk is not smooth; and the sidewalks are filled with so many people that it is hard to maneuver one's suitcase without running the risk of tripping another pedestrian because no one is looking down. Also, if you are going to walk from the station, look for the Hachi... Read more

Okay so we know how valuable space is in Japan and the fact that the rooms are tiny - its no different with Unizo. The rooms indeed are extremely small, almost making one feel they're living in a tiny loft. However, its neat and clean which helps. The hotel lobby is quite nice and inviting but the corridors can you a feeling as if its not lit up well and a little worn out. The restaurant is good - again nothing fancy but works. The pasta I ate here for dinner was delicious and so was the raspbe... Read more

I stayed at Hotel Unizo Shibuya for 5 nights as a solo traveller in a single room. The location is absolutely perfect: right in the heart of Shibuya, unlimited restaurants/shopping/convenience stores literally right on the doorstep and only about a 6-7 minute walk to Shibuya Station. The room was small, but this is obviously expected for a Japanese hotel room. Clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Bed/bedding was comfortable and warm. Double glazed windows completely block out any street noise, s... Read more

Standard compact Tokyo size. Felt like an ikea catalogue demonstrating how to live in a small space but got cluttered easily. My room had such a terrible b.o. smell that was most unpleasant. Some of the staff service wasn't up to Japanese standards. No English tv stations. Decent location but nothing really special. Wouldn't return.

No doubt that Hotel Unizo has a great location, being close to Shibuya station but still in a quiet area, and for this I have stayed here several times. This despite the fact that they probably have one of the worst and most unfriendly service levels that I have experienced in Japan. I have been travelling extensively in Japan and visit twice a year. I guess this will be the last time I visit hotel Unizo, it's not worth it....

A typical Business Hotel, Unizo is one of a chain of hotels that are specifically for short stay type customers. The room was remarkably small, however, I expected that. I took a star off the rating due to the size of the room. Otherwise, I think the hotel is actually really good. I noticed that other reviewers think that the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, to be honest, they don't speak english well and they are reserved as a culture. I actually found the front desk to be extremely hel... Read more
