We travel in japan last march 21 as a group and we chose hotel rose garden as our hotel for our 4nights 5days visit in japan.. Majority of us are first tine in Japan and we do really appreciate the kindness and hospitality of the locals. Though the hotel is about 2hours fron narita airport the location is very accessible from the train station, 24 hours convenience store, shopping center, restaurants etc.. Although the breakfast is the same everyday, its not bad if ur staying less than a week. T... Read more

Booked this in July 2015 for a 5 night stay in late March of 2016. The hotel did not disappoint: 1. A hop and a skip away (less than 1 minute on foot) from nishi-shinjuku subway station (one exit on the same side and another, just across the road)(which in itself has a bakery and a tully's cafe) - a nice quiet station and just one stop away from shinjuku station (on the tokyo metro marunouchi line); 2. Also a hop and a skip away are, a pharmacy (very handy when i had my 2nd attack of gastri... Read more

It's a real cutie. Staff were very helpful and kind. Terrific location. Lots of convenient shops and restaurants nearby. The little Japanese bar restaurant next door was sensational. The breakfast buffet was good value and started our day perfectly. A lovely experience.

I picked this hotel based on the comments from other travelers but it turned out better than expected. There are two metro station entrances (nishi shinjuku): one that's less than 50m away on the same side of the hotel and another just directly opposite of the hotel. We arrived from the Narita airport at 9:30pm and caught the airport limousine, and chose to stop at the Hilton, which is just one block down from this hotel. It was about 11pm at the time but it felt very safe walking. The location ... Read more

The location of this hotel puts you right in the area you want to be. The room was a good size for Japan. While most hotel rooms in Japan are super squashy this was OK. We only stayed the one night but the staff were only too helpful giving directions and dining advise. The price was excellent cheaper than we paid at other places in Tokyo and the rooms were bigger and better. Always try to get a non smoking room other wise you and all your clothes will stink for days.

Wonderful boutique hotel near Nishi-Shinjuki station, surrounded by restaurants and shops and landscaped avenues. Italian restaurant on the premises, parking adjacent to the hotel. Fairly larger rooms for Japan, all amenities included. Warm and effect service.

We're a family of 5 adults and 2 kids. I originally booked 2 rooms only prior to our trip. The books I was able to book are limited to 2 adults per room only. However, I was thinking of having the kids and myself as extra persons when we arrive. Upon checking in, I was asked to have an additional room as rooms are very small. We arrived almost midnight already. We were tired, hungry and sleepy so without any further discussion, I agreed to have another room. Total of three rooms for all of us - ... Read more

So this review is a little late so things may be different now. This hotel is frankly awesome. They are small rooms but functional and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help you. It's a really short walk (5 minutes) to the massive Shinjuku train station (just come out of the hotel and turn left). Plenty of places around for convenience such as stores and McDonalds just over the road. Wi-Fi is included - just put a refundable deposit down at reception for your o... Read more

I only stayed here for one night but I was very happy with my experience. I was impressed that their check-in time was so early (1 PM compared to most hotels I've stayed at which is 3-4 PM), but I still got there a little early. They were happy to hold my luggage for me and brought it up to my room for me after check-in time. The staff is super friendly and the ones I spoke to spoke English well. They also give you a complimentary bag of treats and amenities, which I know isn't a big deal fina... Read more

We stayed here a few nights, and it was great to have a triple bed room for our family. It didn't leave much space, but it was fine for a short stay. There was a small fridge, and good size bath/ shower room. The staff was nice, but didn't speak much English, and didn't go out of their way, though we received little gifts, and my daughter got to choose one too, which was sweet. We did ask for a restaurant recommendation and they gave a good one. There are plenty of places to eat in the office bu... Read more

We stayed at Hotel Rose Garden for our last 2 nights in Tokyo so we could get a real taste of what Shinjuku had to offer. The hotel is very conveniently located to the subway and a short walk to the action in Shinjuku. The rooms are typically small but clean and contain all the things you need for a short stay. The beds were small by western standards but comfortable. The service was excellent and the breakfast included with my room rate was ample with western, asian and continental tastes catere... Read more

We were budget travellers and found this Hotel. It was a great experience beginning to end. We found our triple room was extremely spacious, the bathroom was sensational, with the shower having its' own room. The bathrooms were bigger than normal Japanese bathrooms. The beds were comfy and room was tidy. It isn't 'luxury'', but it certainly is a great stay for those looking at 3-4 star hotels and on tighter budgets. Would recommend not purchasing breakfast until you get to the hotel, as we foun... Read more

the location is superb, walking distance to some of the main attractions within areas of shinjuku and shibuya. situated directly on a subway line making easy acces to entire tokyo. breakfasts are good, staff nice. only the rooms are rarther tiny, which is however quite typical for tokyo. considering all it is a good value for money. btw about 10 mins walk there is a station of a shuttle bus going to haneda airport.

The hotel is in a great location, near the Shinjuku station which is a major hub for many of the lines. It also has a lot of restaurant options. The room is typical Japanese small but it felt fine for my semi double room (I think it was a full bed) and it was just me in the room so certainly it would be crowded for 2 people. The wifi was very good, the bathroom was small but that??s typical and the shower pressure was good. The shower is not big but I didn't feel cramped. The bed was firm ... Read more

The Hotel: Considering I paid as much for this hotel as I did for the Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku, I expected it to be a bit nicer. The breakfast buffet was just "okay" and not worth the price. (I think it was like $35 USD for two.) I wouldn't bother eating at the hotel restaurant for dinner, if breakfast is any indicator. The lobby is pleasant and the staff provides good service, so I'll give them credit for that, but the rooms... I expect tiny rooms because it's Japan, but the bed was t... Read more

My husband and I stayed here last week for 6 nights. It is a good 15 min walk from the Shinjuku train station. The staff are friendly. Check in was quick. Standard room is very small, no room to move, but this is Japan after all. There is no info in English on how to use either the TV or air con. Nor is there any info in the rooms for local information. Cleaning of our room was not the best, needs improvement, (glasses and floors not cleaned correctly). There is a seven eleven a 100yen store and... Read more

A good budget hotel, it said small double bed and it was accurate so no problems. Clean and helpful staff. The location was good and out of the crowds of Shinjuku but close enough to walk to entertainment. Shinjuku good station to catch trains for day trips to outlying areas.

10 minute walk from Shinjuku station and the commercial street. Nice clean hotel with small rooms, free Wi-Fi. Good breakfast both Japan and Western style. Convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Beside the hotel is Nishi-Shinjuku subway station. The JR circular line is also 10 minutes away.

Perfectly placed just a minutes walk from Nishi-Shinjuku metro stop. Small room but perfectly clean and serviceable. 15 minutes walk to Shinjuku station and all the bright lights! Close to a Family Mart (good for cheap snacks!)
