It was a nice 3 days outing. The hotel located within a walking distance to lots of good food and shopping centre. And most importantly very close to Ikebukuro station. The service is just like any Tokyo standard which is impeccable. The Breakfast itself is good and I had to try their Sunday breakfast which is interesting because they served a bit more of Japanese meal. Would love to stay again in the future.

This hotel is within 5 minutes walk from the JR Ikebukuro Station. There are many department stores around there. We booked a triple room which is spacious. One bonus for family with kids is that children is free of charge when staying with adults in the same room. The quality of the room is above standard. One drawback was that we booked a non-smoking room but unfortunately a smoking was provided. The staff only promised to absorb the "bad smell" with the air purifier before we moved in. Apart... We had the displeasure of booking this room through a local agent in Hong Kong. Cost us USD 178/night, for a 18 sqmt double room. It was the worst hotel, I have ever stayed, for the price I paid. Unfortunately, we had landed on an early morning flight, hence, had to wait until 1500 for check in. At the check in counter, had displeasure of interacting with an inexperienced check in agent, who kept repeating the instruction like a programmed computer. For a non smoking room, they wanted to char... Read more

I travel to Tokyo at least once a year and i always stay in this hotel, have been for the last 5 years. The staff speak english and are very friendly as most Japanese are. The rooms are standard size for most japanese hotels so upgrade if you need more space. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so no need to eat in the hotel. Shopping is also convenient with Tobu and Seibu a few minutes away. The airport limousine also stops at this hotel so airport transit to Narita or Haneda is a breeze, ju... Read more

The rooms were small - but I guess that's how it is in Japan. Liked the location, close to shopping, eating places and the train station all within 5 min of the hotel. We went to Family Mart, (convenience store like 7/11) almost everyday to buy snacks/breakfast (bentos & pastries). It is less than a block away. We also bought breakfast (bentos, fruits, pastries) from the department stores in the train station. Rooms have a small refrigerator. 2 free bottles of water everyday. Free wifi. ... Read more

THe best thing about hotel is location , very convenient to take the public transport .Direct bus from the airport to hotel lobby makes it much convinent. Staff is good and polite . THe things to improve is the big queue for breakfast in the morning ! The rooms are smaller and probably as expected to be at Tokyo

My wife and I spent a week at this hotel, and the facilities and the staff are the best. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The entire staff, from bell desk to restaurant staff to housekeeping, was very accommodating in every way. We had some special requests during our stay, and the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of. We met the hotel Duty Manager and Director of Rooms, both of whom were very kind and helpful gentlemen. They even came and waved goodb... Read more

We found this hotel with a little research but really by luck. But what a find! It is located next to Ikebukuro Metro Station providing easy access to Tokyo's tourist attractions and also is a pick-up point for the Airport Limousine Bus to Haneda Airport. It is modern with well appointed bedrooms. We did not use the Hotel's restaurants as within 100metres there are many, many restaurants to suit all tastes. Staff are most helpful with some having a very good command of English.

Hotel Metropolitan is located at 1-6-1, Nishi-Ikebukuro Toshimaku, Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Japan 171-8505, which is within walking distance to/from the Ikebukuro Station. The Hotel is diagonally opposite the Metropolitan Plaza which houses the Tobu and Lumine departmental stores. Food and plenty of shopping activities are easily available in the area and there are 7-eleven and Family Marts convenience stores close by if you need to grab something fast. The last time i stayed there in 2012 was okay... this time I found out that the room is shabby and looked old. I have dust, mites n fur allergic .. normally in 4 seasons country I never experience it.. but this time I got a bad cough n heavy breathing n my nose was constantly blocked at night. I didnt want to complain as I traveled in a family group n might upset them.. but on my last day before we bid farewell I had raised my concern to never stay there again... our room no were 1019, 1020, 10... The room isn't very big,but it is very comfortable. There is 7-11 near the hotel(about 5 minutes walk),so when you need to buy something you can go there easily. And for breakfast, there are many variety of food, from japanese to western. They even serve sashimi.

A extremely high standard of customer service , all enquiries were dealt with efficiently with a genuine smile . Superb location to Ikebukero station literally a 4 minute walk from the metropolitan exit , you can get anywhere in Tokyo using the metro or JR rail , a definite must buy is the Suica card just like an Oyster card used on the tube in London. I would definitely use this hotel again on a return visit

Metropolitan Ikebukuro is in very good location near subway and shopping area. Hotel lobby is quite grand and large. Very convenient to sit down and relax with your friends, Bedroom and restroom are in standard size. Very cozy bedtime. Also, if you are hungry in the night, there is family mart around the corner. Breakfast provides variety of Japenese and international foods. Overall, very impressive hotel.

Ikebukuru is a pleasant, lively location at a main station in Tokyo.Excellent access to Narita airport by bus or the Narita express. The hotel is quite large with great views from the upper floors. The rooms are all very clean and of a reasonable size. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The bar and restaurants are very expensive for British travellers without and expense account. We stayed two nights in the hotel, the location is the key factor which I loved my stay. The hotel is situated 3 min away from Ikebukuro station, very close to many cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The rooms are a little outdated and small but they are doing some renovations therefore it might be different the next time we go back. It's Japan therefore it's very clean and you do have all the amenities that you would need! The check-in and check-out were super efficient, it was overall a... Read more

Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro is a traditional large-scale hotel with reasonable room rates in Tokyo. Firstly, for the location, it is a located in a 3-mins walk distance from Metro Station in which many JR and Tokyo Metro lines located. Moreover, they got the Airport Limousine Bus Stop (Both Narita and Haneda) in the hotel that you don't need to carry your heavy luggage to find the bus stop or train station when you leave for the airport.
