It's a basic 3 star ryokan - to be honest we were a bit disappointed in the accomodation compared to other places we stayed in Japan - it wasn't value for money. While the public bath was quite good and breakfast was a good experience- the rooms were a bit tired, there was cigarette odour in reception and in some corridors - scratches on cupboards etc The location is pretty good - but a good 20 minute walk from the JR rail and about a 15 minute walk to the park and 5 minute to restaurants. It's ... Read more

Very welcoming staff and very attentive. Room was large and basic but well appointed; only possible con is the size of the bathroom which was small but adequate. Food was very good, both breakfast and dinner; dinner was served int he room which was a nice touch. Ryokan is approximately 15 minutes from the Nara train station when walking, but only a few minutes by taxi. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Ryokan modest, with small rooms and lobby anonymous. Accommodation in traditional Japanese style ("tatami" floor, sleeping on futons). Very small bathroom. Staff speaks little English, courteous. Good location near the deer park and the main attractions of Nara. Nice "onsen" separated for men and women. Good hearty breakfast in the Japanese style.

Staff were welcoming, the room was spacious and comfortable, with a little window room with a table, chairs and mirror. We had an ensuite bathroom and another public toilet just outside the room. The futons were comfortable and the room was cleared while we had breakfast, then the beds rolled down early evening. Service was excellent and discreet. After 3 nights of very Japanese food in the countryside we chose Western breakfast which did not remotely resemble Western breakfast but nonethele... Read more

Stayed here last week, this place exceeded my expectation. Cheaper than surrounding ryokans. I paid 300 aud including dinner and breakfast. I was a bit worry by the lack of reviews, but i was wrong. Room is spacious, from the entrance, toilet area, sitting area. My children love this place. Location is excellent on the quietter shopping street, there are few unique cafe less than 50 metres. Less than 5 minutes walk from kintetsunara and about 7 minutes walk to the park. Dinner was excellent, s... Read more

Very value for money hotel with great location which is about 5mins walking distance to the Hankyu Line to/from Kyoto. We had a Japanese style room. It is surprisingly huge. We did not expect the hotel room to be like that based on our passed experience. The staff shows the traditional japanese hospitality to us. They are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is very hearty and thoughtful. We enjoy our stay here and will recommend this place to our friends.

We were sad to have only had one night here during our two week trip to Japan. The Public baths (Onsen) facilities were fabulous. The Japanese style rooms were done very nicely; quaint, clean, large and comfortable. The futons were the most comfortable we had the pleasure of sleeping on during our trip. The breakfast was plentiful and waitress served in their Japanese style restaurant, with the option of Western food. Loved the tatami. Everything about this hotel felt very traditionally Japanese...
