The hotel is right next to the central station (Shinkansen). In the station are many signs, so you will find it easily. The rooms are good equipped and comfortable. There is a good sound proof, Wifi is free and works stable. Breakfast buffet is comprehensive. Staff is frendly, but a bit mechanically. I would choose it again, when I'm in Nagoya.

Spent three nights here on a recent visit to Nagoya. The location is superb - right above Nagoya station. Two elevator trips and you are down at the station (which has a great food area, by the way). The location is so convenient (to both trains and subway) it spoils you for anything else. Large, spacious room. Great bathroom (shower and toilet combined). Like any Japanese hotel, not a lot of room shelf.counter space available for your toiletry. I am an American Platinum level Marriott member. I... Read more

It could have been a better experience if not for the arrogance of 2 staff whom we were unfortunate enough to encounter. The first shocker was at check-in (we arrived on May 13, 2016 around 6:00pm). At first, that female front staff was all smiles and greeted me politely, then once I uttered my first word in English, her face frozed. During the whole process, her face looked so twisted as if I had owed her money or I were there to beg for a free room. When done, she just handed us the keys, ... Read more

The room was nice, clean & spacious. The hotel is located on top of Nagoya Eki Train Station & Takashimaya Department Store. When you are hungry, just go down & you can find lots of local Japanese food. Lots of convenience stores & also beauty products. Nagoya has a bus that goes directly to Takayama, Shirakawa-go etc... The bus station is walking distance from the hotel too.

We stayed in room 3312 for 6 nights. In terms of accessibility & convenience, this hotel has the BEST location in Nagoya because it is right above the Nagoya station. So many shops and restos nearby. Takashimaya department store is at the ground floor. The hotel staff are very courteous and helpful especially Mr. Kurai. We liked especially the nice (a bit rough) floor tiles in the shower to avoid slips and accidents. No wonder this hotel is rated # 1 for Nagoya hotels by Trip Advisor. Ini... Read more

Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel is at the same building as Nagoya Station. There is an entrance connecting directly to the station, which is extremely convenient for railway travellers. The room is surprisingly spacious considering it is in the city centre. The view from the room is fantastic as all of the rooms are at high floors. The staff is polite and helpful. Overall it is arguably the best hotel in downtown. However, the hotel priced a little bit high. There are other good hotels nearby wit... Read more

Although stated numerous times in almost every review it can not be overemphasized: "The situation is perfect". If you're not Japanese getting along the city could be a bit complicated and having access to the main station is important. On the other hand this station is the main city shopping center and numerous food courts are below the hotel. If you plan travelling to another city you can get on a Shinkansen Train " Bullet Train" with speeds exceeding 300 kilometers. It does not help having staff bowing to welcome you but you encounter terrible service at the front desk :reception. Undoubtedly, the location and decor make the hotel the best in Nagoya ... For now. We decided to stay here because the Shinkansen station is just downstairs. But certainly with incompetent staff greeting guests at the first verbal encounter when checking in is an indication that the Marriott Nagoya is only superficially number one. So when i went down to the lobby, this male front desk staff instead showed me a map to another building. This is my second time of reviewing this hotel, third time of staying there. My last review was in 2011 and I gave them a rave review. Five years later, they are still holding a high level of service and facility. A wide array of toiletry items are provided in the spacious and clean bathroom with a separate washing area and a bath tub. The room is spacious for one of the major cities in Japan, and clean. The lounge feels a little cramped when it's busy, but still it has a nice view and o... Read more

We saved this hotel until our last couple of days in Japan looking forward to lazing back next to the pool with our son after 3 weeks of exploring. When we asked about where the pool was we were informed that it is apart of a fitness club and it will cost over 3,000 yen per person to use the pool. We decided that we would pay the money for our 10 year old son but then found out he could only use it until 5 pm. The hotels website mentions nothing about children not using the pool after 5 pm and a... Read more

Stayed here 1 night before having to fly back to USA. The hotel is the best Marriott I've ever stayed in. Decor is very nice, and it's super clean. Rooms are a good size and very comfortable. The concierge level had amazing views and excellent service. I guess the only complaint is the way the hotel is laid out. When you enter the hotel, you need to go up a set of escalators to get to the elevator that takes you to the front desk/lobby on the 15th floor. Then you take another set of elevat... Read more

Perfect location for JR train travelers, five-star service and a professionally run club lounge. The weather was extremely hot when we stayed, we found we did not have to get out onto the street at all for shopping and dinning. We keep returning to this property and would not hesitate to recommend to our friends.

Very recommended hotel if you visit Nagoya.

Rooms are in need of a renovation and ours had a bit oldish smell to it. Otherwise the location was awesome for us as we we travelled by train every day. It's right at the JR station. We liked the bathroom with the bathtub and the lounge/reception hall was huge. Big negative was the fee to use the swimming pool. About 3000yen I think. As a guest and even for multiple days it should be free of charge.

The hotel is beautiful and the room was very nice and clean. The location is very convenient (though the direction signs to find the lobby on the 15th floor could be somewhat improved). It was also extremely helpful to have the allergy indications for each products on the buffet. Being allergic to gluten and lactose, this was very helpful for me to avoid eating something I am allergic to. Since in Japan most products are with gluten, it would be extremely useful to add a few more gluten-free and... Read more

Stayed God two nights only and enjoyed the big gym, though it's a long way to it and not obvious!, great Exec lounge, rooms good, bathrooms nice, great location as its above the Shinkansen train station. Inevitably it's impersonal, but clean and quiet and watch out for the lack of iron and ironing board - and even they do bring it from housekeeping, it's one of the little rechargeable kind so do a Low or plan time ironing your business shirts!

My daughter and I visited Nagoya and stayed at this hotel from 5 August - 9 August 2016. The room booked was a deluxe king, upper floor. The room was clean and of a decent size but had very basic amenities. The bed and pillows were too soft for me and I ended my trip with a backache. The bathroom amenities were poor and the shampoo and body soap had a strange smell. We had to go and buy our own soap because of this. Nagoya Marriot is very well situated in Nagoya - more or less on top of the bullet train and metro station, so location is excellent. There's also a large selection of restaurants available in the vicinity and even in the same building, so it's hard to beat from a convenience point of view. However, the type of room you end up in is a lottery; I've paid the same amount of money for funny-smelling, cramped rooms with no view, to excellent "executive" type rooms.
