I was grateful to secure four nights accommodation here during the peak autumn period after a confirmed booking with another hotel was cancelled when the Hoteling company failed. Although the double room was small, it was well-arranged and quite adequate for one - would've been a squeeze for two with luggage and there was only the one chair. Small desk. A lot of powerpoints which was good and fast, free wi-fi. Comfortable bed, and no noise issues. Central air con but it luckily it wasn't too hot... Read more

This is my second stay at the same property. My first visit was in 2013 same Autumn peak period when it was still under Best Western. You can see my other review for a more detailed description of the place. My very first reason for choice of this hotel was its location. Honestly, I can hardly think of any other better place. Since this is a second review, I shall only mention what's different now other than the hotel name. Price - It was not cheap three years back for a business hotel but I w... Read more

We knew the room would not be large and so were not surprised, but it was perfectly adequate for our stay. Earlier reviewers had complained about the screens on the windows but it was possible to move them if you wanted daylight and a street view. It had good lighting and a fridge and kettle. The bathroom had a washing line over the bath and there was a washer and dryer available for use which was very handy. Yes, the breakfast does not make many allowances for western guests, but when we stayed... Read more

The rooms aren't very spacious and there isn't much window space. I would say it's alright but not the best. The toilet roll however smells really nice and it isn't standard white toilet roll. My dad really enjoyed the coffee they offer in the rooms, however the location is spectacular as its near the main stream of Kawaramachi where there is loads to shop nearby.

The location is very convenient, being half an block off the major pedestrian mall. Rooms are medium size by Japanese standards, but ours lacked a large window to look out of, so it was quite dark and confining. Bathrooms were spotless and in good condition. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is based upon the Japanese farm-to-table restaurant in the hotel. This provides an interesting range of quality food, but I would honestly prefer the wider range of food which we found at o... Read more

It's located very close to two metro stations (Tozai Line), Nishiki Market and many modern shops. Convenient for sightseeing. The staffs are professional. The room is very clean. It offers real Japanese breakfast. We will definitely come again.

I spent 4 nights here and everything was quite good except for the heating situation. I personally like a cold room when I sleep and my room was cold. The heating situation is a little strange as you cannot control the temperature in your room. All you can do is turn it off. I had to turn mine off as the room would have been frigid. The hotel is in a great location. You are close to shopping, Gion, bus and subway lines. There are plenty of restaurants on the street of the hotel and in the ... Read more

We recently spent 11 nights here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and could not have chosen a better hotel. The location is perfect for sightseeing, catching public transport, dining out and shopping. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and really helped make our holiday a memorable one. No request was too difficult for them. Our room was comfortable and well designed. The bathroom was very good for its compact size, with very good amenities. Cleaning was impeccable. Bedding was f... Both my my mum and I enjoyed our three day stay at hotel vista premio Kyoto tremendously. We stayed in the superior twin room; both the room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Breakfast, consisting of traditional Kyoto dishes and some western selection, was delicious and something we both looked forward to every morning. Popular restaurants in Kyoto require advance reservations; I managed to secure a booking in a restaurant in arashiyama with the help of a hotel staff via email before my tr... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights during the recent gorgeous autumn season, a lovely time to see Kyoto. This hotel is located in 'central' Kyoto which is a section in the central northeast of the town just northwest of the famous Gion District and loaded with shopping and restaurants and bars near the Kawaramachi Sanyo bus stop, about 10-15 minute cab drive from the train station (cost about 13000 Yen). It's on a small side street so remains very quiet despite being near a lot of action. You are steps aw... Read more
