We stayed one night in this Onsen, and had quite an experience. Keep in mind reading this review, we are from Norway, and will review the place for being international tourists. Finding Kosekaku might seem a bit difficult, but it's actually a quite straigth forward process, and doesn't take that long time from Kobe. Entering was an experience in itself, arriving, taking your shoes off and being led to your room, where a lovely and friendly girl had prepared for our stay. She didn't speak any e... Read more

It is a short but fairly hard, hilly walk from the train station over a narrow road without sidewalks. Pack lightly or grab a taxi. If walking, go up the hill from the train station, pass the red Nene bridge and 7-eleven store, then turn left up the hill after the next bridge, go pass the Koyokaku hotel. You‚??ll see 2 tunnels on your left, walk through the 2nd tunnel and voila! You‚??re at the Arima Onsen Motoyu Kosenkaku resort. Check-in is pretty strict at 3 p.m. so you can leave your thi... Only arrived here after dark, it's a short but steep walk from the railway station. We immediately had to have our pre-booked Japanese dinner. To wear the Japanese clothing and sit on the floor Japanese style whilst dining was challenging but fun. The dinner itself was good but the menu was unfortunately only in Japanese so not sure what we ate! There were 2 onsen to experience. One was a dark stone setting, the other in a brighter more modern wooden setting. They were quite relaxing. Our room... Read more

The room is beautiful and comfortable. It feels so relaxing to stay in the Japanese room. The only drawback is its western bedding is average. The osen is beautiful too; the view in the morning is great from the osen. The hotel is on a slope near the bus station and village center, very convenient. It also provides transit service for check in/out.

My husband and I spent 2 weeks and walked almost 100 miles seeing all Japan. This was our last stop and it couldnt have been better. The Onsen was relaxing and perfect for sore muscles. Staff spoke sufficient English and we understand enough Japanese to get by.

Stayed for one night and it was a good experience. Staffs were friendly and briefed us pretty well. Old hotel but is carefully maintained. Outdoor onsen was great in the chilly weather. No problems with transport to and from the bus station. Food was yummy too. Overall a good stay.

It is a very beautiful and traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. The rooms were big. The futons were comfortable. Loved the Yukata! Good food. Wonderful service. The hot spring facilities were clean. Highly recommend this place!
