We stayed only one night in this hotel during a recent visit. We were collected from the ferry by the hotel shuttle bus. The hotel is a relatively long way from the ferry terminal, certainly too far to walk in the middle of winter with snow on the ground. We are a family of four and the room had 2 western beds and the other 2 of us slept on futons on the floor. We had dinner in the room, which was served by very lovely staff who explained clearly what each item was. We did not eat quite a few o... Read more

We have her 1 night with Breakfasts and dinner! Excellent decision. It was the best Japan food we ever tasted! a Riokan with comfortable futons, clean and with a great view to the shore! At night we made a short walk around the twon and hotel, also we walked to the small port, and was so cute to find around the hotel some deer!! The hotel has an excellent location for a visit to the island , they offers transfer in/out to the ferry for free. We did not have the chance to call before to confirm... Read more

We wanted a Japanese hotel, and were very pleased with our choice of the Miyajima Seaside Hotel. The hotel is ~30 min walk from the pier, or you can call for the courtesy bus to collect you from the road in front of the pier; there's a phone to use - and a list of hotel numbers on a large island map on the wall in the foyer as you come off the ferry (we used the JR ferry route). We stayed 1/2 board and so enjoyed a 'hot pot' evening meal served in our room. Later they came back to set up the be... Read more

Nice view on the sea. Not far from the harbourgh. Nice staff. Nice Onsen. Disappointed by the diner (in room). Good breakfast in dining room. Sleep on futons. Expensive hotel not completely reaching expectations for this rate.

The hotel is.........magnificent. I was quite impressed. It is a traditional Japanese style hotel. You have to take off shoes before entering the hotel. It is totally.. exclusive and quiet. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner offered by the hotel. The public bath is also really good which 100% reflects the Japanese style. One more point that really impressed me is about the people providing the service. They are extremely friendly and willing to help. I still remember the little girl serv... Read more

Although a little way out from the town centre the shuttle service was excellent. After spending a few weeks in more modern type accommodation it was so nice to experience a more traditional styled hotel. Had a great dinner for 4 served by a lovely hostess. Was worth spending some extra money for the experience

I want to give a review that is as detailed and honest about my impression as possible because if you don't know what this hotel is you may be very badly disappointed and it is really expensive for what it is (30,000 JPY for one night for two people). We selected this hotel because of great reviews on Tripadvisor but I really don't understand why this hotel has high ratings. It does not deserve to get 4 and 5 star ratings in anyway. It is old, stale and cheap all around, and calling it a "ryoka... Read more

I book this hotel in order to experience a traditional hotel in Japan, with Kaiseki diner, sleep on futons etc. -The hotel provide a shuttle from the ferry station, we called them and they picked us up within 5 min. We were hiking to the mount Misen and were quite tired to walk more! There is also a shuttle after the check out the following morning. -The Kaiseki dinner was served in the room and was very good, you need to like oysters though! You have a menu in english so you know what you are ea... Read more

We spent a pleasant journey in this hotel. All staff are very nice. They provide a good service for us. The dinner is rich and delicious. The Japanese-style room is large and have a beautiful sea view. The hotel also provide free shuttle bus between the pier and the hotel.
