It was our first experience in a ryokan, and it was an amazing one ! Very helpful and professional staff, clean and spacious room and perfect location on the island. We had typical Japanese dinner and breakfast in the ryokan, both were great and interesting to fully enjoy the experience. And icing on the cake : beautiful hot springs to relax by night...

Welcomed by a over-emphatic male front desk attendant, who made sure I understood well, after my inquire, that they do not offer Western breakfast. We did managed to arrange for western breakfast on day 2. Japanese dinner, in room, was super. Elegant, personally served, and generous. For breakfast, you better like a Japanese one. Room with a beautiful ocean view: a bit small for a family of four. But, well, that is what we booked. Onsen: OK, but small. They offered a courtesy car ride t... Read more

I enjoy my day in Miyajima a lot. The environment is just too great for a romantic getaway. The view is excellent. Though the place is tourist-centred, you just feel you are welcome to relax and enjoy here. The resort is close in the mid way between the pier and the temple, The sea view is too great that you wanna wake up early in the morning so that you can comfort you eyes earlier.

Before you get to your room, you will get to choose your choice of Yukata. We had a "Adult Holiday" room which has a large window with excellent view of the sea and the Torii gate. It also equipped with a massage chair and all drinks in mini fridge are FOC. Also, our Kaiseki dinner was served in our room (most others are served in the dinning hall). After the dinner, you can take a stroll to view the Torii gate in the night or take a boat ride that bring you under the Torri gate. While you are... Read more

This ryokan located in the centre of Miyajima was great for our 2-night stay as part of our honeymoon. The hotel is a more modern ryokan and was comfortable, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Your meals are in a central restaurant rather than in your room and the service was brilliant. The food was top quality with fresh ingredients. We felt very full every night/morning! A great hub to explore Miyajima from.

What a fantastic place to stay while visiting Miyajima. The location is perfect. The staff is very friendly and did everything possible to make us feel welcome. Their English is not great, but good enough to take care of our every need. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed an extra night. Our dinner was served in the dinning room (they do offer in-room dining at a higher room rate). The dinner and service were excellent. I was afraid they would serve us the same food the second nig... I really enjoyed my stay here. It was very close to everything on Miyajima. The customer service was superb. Since I'm vegetarian, we called beforehand, and they even changed the set menu for dinner so that I can eat everything. They have free drinks on the first floor, so I didn't have to go out and buy water or other beverages. The rooms had make-up remover, face wash, toner and moisturizer as well as toothbrush and toothpaste. The people prepared the futon for you while you are at dinner, so ... Read more

Great service, friendly staff - it was raining when we left and they offered to give us a car ride to the ferry. Dinner was exxellent - very nice drinking list with even local wine and beer. Nice onsen. Breakfast in a big hall, not so cozy, but in addition to the Japanese breakfast some Western add-ons such as toast, orangejuice and coffee.

Located on the idyllic island of, the place of floating Torri. Beachfront located few steps from the ferry pier. Traditional yukatas and tatami mats are a must when in ryokan. Food can be a tricky issue if you are not a foodie. My younger one was not too happy but we worked around it. The spa is divided into male and female quarters as in all onsens. Breakfast had continental and oriental buffet options. Hot tips Wear the yukata and take a walk at night to the torry - buy some crackers to feed ... Read more

As people have stated, this is a very short walk from the ferry landing. I understand they offer transport to the ferry if you're disabled maybe unable to walk it, but otherwise it takes no time. We opted for a mountain (street) room as we'd already experienced in room dining in a Ryokan in Takayama, and we didn't feel it was worth the extra price. The dining room was fine and comfortable and our server spoke English very well. Food was excellent apart from soy milk (ugh). We were offered a f... Read more

A quick overnight trip to Hiroshima, then straight over to spend the evening on Miyajima Island. Hiroshima was a little rushed, spending more time at Peace Memorial than expected, but worth it. From Hirsoshima, onto a local train to Miyajima Guchi station and then ferry to Miyajima. If the aim is to see the gates with tide out, suggest late afternoon ferry to enable a walk around the gates. Otherwise, delaying return trip to the evening next day. Evening set-up is magnificent and well lit for... Read more

The setting is beautiful. It's a short distance from ferry. You can walk it even pulling a suitcase . Upon arrival we were offered cool towels to wipe off with. We then went to the outside space for a refreshing drink . Our room was on the third floor , elevator worthy . Our room 312 had no view but it was fine. While down at your 12 course dinner they come make your beds up . What an experience sleeping on a futon. In a room with bamboo floor . All 4 of us in one room . !! Before d... Read more

Impeccable service and a truly unique experience. It's not cheap, but in our opinion was well worth the money. The staff was extremely attentive, and the room, albeit small, was incredibly comfortable. (Ours actually had a Sleep Number bed-- my first time trying it!) Dinner was sensational-- tons of delicious food and they were able to accommodate my food allergy (they actually asked if we had any allergies before we could even say anything- amazing!) Loved the onsen (public bath), as well as ... Read more
