We stayed one night in this hotel and were very happy with it! Rooms very beautiful and clean, we had a window overlooking the city. Staff speak ok English, wifi is free. Lots of places to eat, including in the hotel. You can use the hot spring facilities for free (we didn't get a chance to use them though). Walking distance to the main city centre.

If you decide to visit the Fuji mountain and travel to Osaka, this is the best location to have a relaxing stop for one night. The room are quiet big, with all facillities, including the famouse japan toilet and a confortable bathroom. The hotel is 3 minutes from the rail station and after you see the Fuji in entaire beautiful you can finish the day at thus hotel with a Onsen, traditional japaise sauna. Try it, dressing in the original suite that you will find in the room. An amazing and relaxin... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights. location is super good - directly across the Hakoneyumoto train station; 3 minute walk. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Even if the furnishings may appear outdated, the staff by far make for a wonderful guest experience. Breakfast was awesome - you have the choice of a set menu or buffet. We chose buffet for both days. Taste was great - with traditional Japanese or Western options. Onsen has indoor and outdoor pools - very clean and well maintained. The guest to... Read more

Two great points in its favour are the convenient location and the in house public bath. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the railway station. Once you cross the stream on the footbridge, there's an elevator which takes you straight to the reception. It takes barely 5 minutes. The reception area is spacious and there's free WiFi (I got an amazing 30 Mbps). Try the Japanese dinner. It is a 9 course affair. 10% discount card was offered for the souvenir shop in the reception floor,n alth... Read more

The hotel is just across a small bridge to the Hakone Station. (The hotel has an elevator from the bridge level to the foyer level). The rooms are a little small with a similarly small bathroom - but with the famous Toto toilet (western - not Japanese). There is a Yukata in the room and instruction on the wearing of it. It can be worn all around the hotel. Best when going to the onsen. Full instructions as to the etiquette of the onsen is found in the room. The public onsen is superb, but... Read more

We stayed at this hotel from 23-25 May 2016. The hotel is directly located across the Hakone Yumoto station which is a big plus . We had to just take the elevator at the station , cross the bridge , take the hotel elevator and we could reach the hotel reception . Since we were a family , we had booked a family room which was a mix of Japanese and western style . The room had a balcony with a mountain view. The view was beautiful in the mornings especially when it was raining. The room had all t... Read more

This is a branch of the Fujiyama hotel which had been in the area for over a century and had a very good reputation. The hotel is located right beside the Hakone town centre where the JR station and the old fashioned shopping street is. You can buy all sorts of locally made specialty food and items. These is a honey cheese tart which is delicious. We were greeted by staff in the parking lot and the concierge at the check in counter speaks reasonable English. We are to pick our dinner time... It is a lovely hotel, plenty of facilities, staff are excellent. As it is isolated to an extent although across the road at the train station there are cheaper eats. It is expensive to eat in the hotel and the quality and serve sizes are average. The rooms were very clean with a king bed. Lounge and even a small Japanese tea area. It was a good experience

Sit on the hillside and odawara river run. The room window view can closely see the bridge and stunning mountain. Very clean and convenience hotel. Many facilities specially 3 in-house onsen is super bargain. We did morning walk to try Tanzan railway heading to Gora station. Recommend !

We stayed at this hotel for one night on May 15th-16th. Pros: - Centrally located, right across the street from the train station - Excellent professional staff and service. I have never been more impressed with the staff of a hotel than I have been with the staff of Yumoto Fujiya. Keep up the great work guys! - When you're approaching the hotel from the the train station, the hotel seems to naturally grow out of mountain - so pretty - The rooms are spacious, clean, fully stocked with bathro... We only stayed here for one night, so had to pack as much in as we could. The hotel staff were lovely, the rooms were huge, with everything you would need. We decided to use the hot springs, which was a fun experience, they have separate men and woman nude baths or you can do what we did and hire your own room, this was a lovely way to relax and really nice to try something new. The breakfast in the hotel was lovely with a wide variety. It would have been nice to spend more time in Hakone, maybe... Read more

My wife stayed here for a night as part of a tour package. FThe signs of a refurb being needed; flaking paint, worn door handles, scuff marks on walls and furniture. The bedding is hard, the non-smoking rooms smell like cigarette smoke probably due to a shared air con system. With all that negativity out of the way it has a few hotel restaurants for those that don't want to venture far from their hotel and also a great view. The hotel staff were very friendly. The in hotel onsen also is supposed... Read more

Me and husband went to stay in Yumoto Fujiya hotel recently. Our room was double bed room with river view. The hotel location is so great, just cross of Yumoto train station. 3 minute will be in the hotel. Hotel staff were very nice, even we missed our breakfast on next day. But, they still have us breakfast and assisted us. I would like to recommend to dine dinner in the hotel if you don't have any experience with traditional Japanese style before. You will never ever regret it if you order... Read more

If you're in Hakone you're there to explore. This hotel has by far the best location as it's right across the bridge from the main train station where you get off after taking a bullet train from Tokyo or Kyoto. It's right across the bridge. What's also helpful is that at the hotel, they allow you to store luggage so you don't have to worry about checking in early or wanting to explore while you are checked out. The rooms are small but functional - and again you're paying for convenience. H... Read more

We were greeted by friendly staff who spoke English well. This hotel is in a very good location as the station is directly across from it and local shops are within walking distance. We noticed that the restaurants/cafes close 30 minutes before actual closing time so we had no choice but to go for an early dinner. This hotel is more for older couples or families with small kids rather than young couples. Our room was nice and tidy however the beds were extremely uncomfortable in fact it wa... Read more

This hotel is about a 3 minute walk across the road from Hakone station. The staff were friendly and the rooms were quite large (for Japanese standards). There is a male and female onsen here and it is gorgeous. You can also rent a family onsen if you want the privacy. The ladies one has a lovely outdoor onsen as well as indoor. Hakone closes very early so if you want to eat then it will need to be early however the hotel has a couple of restaurants. We asked the reception staff and they gave us... Read more

During our Sunrise Tours with Japanese Tourist Bureau, we enjoyed an afternoon and evening staying in a mountain view room at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and though we did not join in the bathing activities were intrigued by the colourful kimonos worn by the Japanese quests. The hotel projected a country club style atmosphere and we very much enjoyed our evening snack and drinks in the cosy bar. Great place to relax and enjoy the company of 'newly found' friends.
