It's a little oasis in the city. While it's located in a quiet part of the city, it's actually within walking distance to many good restaurants. Owner and staffs are all very friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't like is the room I have don't have attached bathroom. I didn't get the chance to try their dinner as they are fully booked already - which mean they are popular. It's a nice alternative to the standard business hotels in the city.

This was our second visit to the Zen Nishitei Oyada and it did not disappoint. Ms. Seiko was so gracious again and the full breakfast was just lovely. Although the rooms are on the small side, it is all made up for by the clean, peaceful nature of this tiny 5 room ryokan located in a quiet residential neighborhood, in walking distance of the Tenjin Station. We always enjoy the small touches - from fruits in the refrigerator on return from dinner to the hot baths and gracious greeting on our r... Read more

A fantastic place, a little gem hidden in the concrete of Fukuoka mid town. Great hospitality of the host, this is a pure concentrate of Japan traditional ryokan, just on a smaller scale. We haven't tried the dinner (it was closed on Sunday evening) but the breakfast is gorgeous. Don't come here if it expect the usual, this is pure Japan.

We stayed a few days at Zen Oyado Nishitei. This was our first visit to Fukuoka. We flew into Hakata, took the subway to the train station in town, then a bus to the main street nearby. I have been using google maps and following the dots to find my destinations, and while that got us close, I was unsure that the small street the dots were suggesting was the right street. We saw three young fellows and asked for help. They walked us the rest of the way. When we arrived, we mentioned them t... Read more

We had an excellent experience. The room was cosy. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. The hosts were very hospitable and helpful. Location was pretty good. Less than 15 mins taxi ride to the airport or the Hakata station. Otherwise, it's near enough to walk to Canal City or you can take a short bus ride.

It is situated in a residential area but is within walking distance from Tenjin (nice 20 mins leisure walk). The building/room is in a traditional style. The place is cozy and well maintained. The stairs can be a little steep and may not be suitable for elderly. However, there is a room on the first floor. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay and we had breakfast on the day we checked out. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this little gem.

We wanted to experience a Ryokan during our quick stay in Fukuoka and found this traditional guest house using Trip Advisor. It did not disappoint! The response is quick via email, and we fully understand why the rooms do not have their individual toilets as these are not the usual arrangements in a Japanese house. Make sure you book the dinner- best French Cuisine in Fukuoka! :)

My husband and I recently visited Fukuoka for several days and stayed at Zen Oyado Nishitei-- we absolutely loved it! It was a meaningful trip for so many reasons (my husband's family is from there and this was his first opportunity to visit Japan) and staying here made it even more special. The Ryokan's owner and staff are incredibly generous, kind, and warm; they make you feel so welcome. It's a beautifully maintained place, is located in a quiet side street of Fukuoka but within walking range... Read more

I only stayed one night over the weekend, but now I wish I stayed here my entire trip. Traditional Japanese house that is beautiful and clean. The traditional breakfast was also amazing and for people who have not traveled Japan it is hard to find a real japanese breakfast. This is not located in the heart of Tenjin but fukuoka city is much smaller than cities like Tokyo so don't worry about it. Taxis and bus are reasonable. There is also a few hidden food gems in the neighborhood like Ten... Read more

There are not many rooms in Zen Oyado Nishitei and location is nicely hidden but same time close to everything. Room itself was traditional japanese, beautiful but functional. We had a best dinner in Fukuoka in here. Some of the staff didn't talk too much english but we managed just smoothly.
