cozy and it was big room than other Hotel in Hakata. You can go to the tenjin ( most shopping place) by 10 min walk and near Hakata station as well. You can go to the Airport by shuttle bus, there is bus stop in front of the hotel. Kind staff.

We stayed at the Hotel New Otani Hakata for two nights. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-located it was - within easy walking distance to the shopping in Tenjin (and Ichiran there!) and Daimyo. For the Hakata train station, it was a taxi ride for the equivalent of $7-15 depending on traffic. Our room was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and seemed updated not too long ago and supplied with a bevy of extra amenities. Some would say the decor in the hotel is dated, but for me, it exu... Read more

The hotel was nicely furnished and the rooms were one of the better ones I've come across in Japan. Not too small and the bathroom has all the amenities you would need provided. Restaurants in the hotel are pricey, I would suggest taking a bus (¥100) or taxi (about ¥800) from outside to the Hakata station area for many food choices! If you are driving (we rented a car), the hotel will charge you ¥1500 a night for parking. The parking system is a bit complicated, be ready to face some comm... Read more

True to the Otani brand, this hotel is a well-maintained classic. Whilst furniture showed signs of aging, they were of high quality and spotless all-round. Attentiveness and professionalism of the staff rivals - and beats - some of the top 5-star hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at. The hotel is not the most central of locations but it's for you if you're looking to stay a little further away from the hustle bustle of shopping and nightlife districts, and yet not too far a walk (or a quic... The older managers of this hotel were very nice and polite. The female employees (the cleaners, porters, and the front-desk women) were absolutely lovely. But some of the young male staff were not nice at all. I can not forget the night-shift front-desk guy who glared at me while I was talking to someone nearby. I felt the way he stared at me was almost violent as if he was trying to intimidate me somehow. He hardly spoke any English at all. He does not seem to understand even some of the very s... Read more

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights last week (Aug 16), we chose the Japanese-style room so that the kids could experience a little bit of the Japanese-living culture. Although we were located on the 4/f with no view, however, the room itself had captured all of our attention: 1. The big was huge! It had a dining room, a living room and a room that could accommodate 4 futons; 2. There was a private bath tub in the toilet which I could enjoy and relax after 2 - 3 hours of driving everyday during... Read more

Solid hotel in convenient location. 4 adults, two kids in Japanese style room. A little bit old but sufficient. Breakfast buffet adequate, but crowd challenged. Price for buffet too high for little kids; 2-3k Y. I don't think a single bottle of water was provided in the room. We had my parents visiting from the States stay with us. Check-in was not fluid, but soon we could settle in. Parking was convenient. A few host staff were very welcoming and attending. It was a pretty good value.

While in Fukuoka in connection with an International Convention, my wife and I went to this hotel to meet some friends who were staying in this hotel and found the hotel to be an imposing presence in the area with a large number of rooms. Its lobby was very large with a good seating capacity.

We stayed in March. Quite nice. Quite accessible. The hotel is on the older side so this means compared to other newer ones the rooms are bigger. The rooms are clean and toiletries are complete. If you get the room with breakfast you will be given vouchers which you could use for the buffet type or the Japanese breakfast. We didn't get to try the Japanese one but the buffet type was just a simple spread but it will do. From the hotel, you may choose to ride the taxi or take the bus or if you're ... Read more
