We were so happy with our stay at White Sands. Initially we had thought of travelling a bit while we were in Negril but seeing what a nice simple place we had, we stayed put. We had one of the rooms that looked out onto the beach. In my opinion the best one. It has a nice private deck where I could do some yoga in the morning. But aside from the simple clean rooms, the staff was top notch. The bar staff rocked. Always on point and served some great two for one specials. The beach caretak... Read more

We love Negril and we love White Sands. This was our 7th time to Negril and 2nd stay at White Sands. We stayed twice in the cliffs and a couple times at an all inclusive. We have decided never to stay at an all inclusive hotel again, wanted to experience it but it's not us. White Sands fits us perfectly and the minute we get home we start thinking when we can return. Granted this Hotel maybe is not for everyone but is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the real Jamaica. We find the rooms... Read more

White sands is an unassuming 'get what you pay for' type of hotel. We stayed for 10 days. Our room was on the beach side of the hotel and our terrace looked out over the sea. The room was large with air conditioning and a fan so never felt oppressive, despite the outside temperature and humidity being extremely high. All staff were courteous and helpful from the breakfast team, Tony on the bar who has been there 20 years and mixes a mean cocktail and Henry the delightful porter. We would defini... Read more

we were looking for a quite, relaxing time and what we found was more than we could ask for. We had a choice of staying garden side or beach side. we chose to stay beach side. our room was C1, which is the closest room to the beach. it was essentially a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, a huge living room, a large bedroom with a large bathroom. The Beach was about 100 ft from our door. there is a bar and restaurant on premise. we enjoyed our breakfast, lunch and drinks there every day.... Read more

This hotel was the icing on the cake for what ended up being an incredible vacation. Every person greets you with a smile and is more than willing to assist your every whim. While not a luxury resort, the intimacy that comes with the smaller, more simplistic layout only adds to the relaxation one is looking for in a Jamaican vacation. I stayed 5 nights, beginning on May 15, 2016, and left without any complaints. As soon as we checked in, Henry was there to help us carry our bags to our beachside... Read more

This was our first time staying at a non all inclusive resort and on the opposite side of the road from the beach. We had requested a room with a kitchenette and the only rooms with a kitchenette was on the garden side. We got exactly what we requested and service was impeccable. Francis ,Mike and his wife did everything in there power to make sure all their guests were enjoying there stay. Rooms were cleaned ,beds were comfortable ,A/C worked great ,Kitchenette was a bit outdated but it served ... Read more

Planned a trip to Negril for an anniversary and decided on White Sands based on budget and favourable reviews. I wasn't at all disappointed. The hotel is located on the 7 mile beach which is all white sands, shallows and pleasantly warm, blue seas. The room was clean and my only observation is that it could use more lighting (it feels a bit dim with the two lamps provided). There is an atmosphere of calm and peace and quiet and it's so easy to relax and fall away from the world. The Wi-Fi servic... Read more

WiFi works about 50% at the time. NO TV in any room(2016). Pool is only for display, is foggy, nobody ever used it. After I arrived late, next day I went to downtown to exchange money, but before I met a White Sand security guard there, begging for a coffee, then telling me to don't lie to him that I don't have money...

The room we got was huge and clean! We were really surprised when we saw our room. So glad we stayed here. The people who worked there were so kind and helpfull. But I have to say that the people who worked at the bar and the restaurant was not so helpfull. We were going to eat breakfast one day at the hotel, the staff who worked at the kitchen just sat on their phone, they saw us but didn't bother to stand up and come and help us. So when we saw that, we didn't want to eat there so we went to a... Read more

I've been staying in Jamaica quite a few times and I always wind up at the bar here.. This hotel has been very warm and inviting.. it doesn't feel like a vacation it feels like we are at home.. One with the locals and everyone always remembers us from previous visits so it feels like we've never left.. I love this place..

Travelled to Jamaica for a four-day, birthday celebration. The transfer from the airport to White Sands was good, no issues. We were a group of four, check in was great, we were greeted by Francis given a quick low down and given our keys. A very nice porter named Henry took us to our rooms. The rooms were basic and clean. We had a minor issue with our beds not being put together as a king. But Francis was very accommodating with the issue and offered us a round of drinks and a complimentary br... Read more

I am an avid hostel/BnB traveler. I feel that you get the most from your stay when you are not entrapped in an all inclusive resort. However, staying at White Sands Negril was a mistake. The room was filled with dead insects when we arrived. They were everywhere. I understand that you get what you pay for, but that is never ok. The only window in the room was directly in front of the AC unit so if you wanted the room to be cool you had to shut the louvers, but there was no over head lighting so ... Read more

If I could give zero stars rating I would! I could not check out fast enough out of this horrible subpar joke of a hotel. First of all the hotel room description is deliberately misleading. They don't explain that a "seaside room" does not give you a view of the sea. It simply means the room is in the general vicinity of the beach but you dont even see a glimpse of the water from your room. They also dont tell you that the hotel sits on 2 sides of a very busy highway. So the parking lot was on... Read more

Just came from this wonderful place. First, I feel at home here. My maid Jenet was wonderful. I hugged her. She took good care of me. It appears that all the staff loves me. Francis the owner is loyal and will work it out for you. Francis I love the upgrades to the bar area. Beautifully done.I think next year i'm going to the beach side instead of the garden side. I didn't have a tv in my room but, Youtube worked well! I am returning soon. Thank you for taking good care of me White Sands.

The location of the hotel is probably the best part. All of the rooms whether you are on the garden side (where we stayed) or on the beach side were very close to the beach. The beach is self was beautiful! Never seemed crowded and was always very well maintained. Jefferey was great at organizing any water sports we wanted to do and the bar and restaurant being right there was very convenient. May have had on of the best Bloody Mary's EVER! Overall very laid back and relaxed resort. Close to eve... Read more

We've stayed at White Sands the last three years and will be going back this coming spring. The stretch of beach they have is clean and well looked after by the staff. Bartenders Paul and Tony will mix you up the daily drink special with a smile and cool Caribbean vibe. They're open for breakfast and lunch but not to worry there are plenty of restaurants just steps away. Did I mention the staff? Fantastic people that we've gotten to know over the three trips to the island, friendly and full of ... Read more

I've been visiting White Sands for some time and over the years the staff has become like family to me. I always look forward to seeing everyone when I return. On this last trip in April 2016, I arrived in Negril pretty sick. After two nights in my room, my condition got much worse, in fact life threatening. I was in incredible pain and it was getting worse by the minute. Negril doesn't have a hospital. There are a few doctor's offices in town but nothing for a major emergency. Francis, Henry ... I haven't stayed here yet, but I wanted to comment that I had a question and sent an email to the email address listed on the "contact" page of the White Sands website. Within 24 hours I had a response. I appreciate attentive service, especially in response to questions I have about the hotel and policies. Thank you, Michael. I look forward to my stay at White Sands this coming spring.

This 'resort' is located on the seven mile beach area. It has rooms on the beach side of the highway and across the road on the side opposite the beach. My room was on the other side of the highway opposite the beach. I paid about $45 (U.S.) per night. The room was spartan with a small refrigerator and no television or radio or telephone. while the restroom was tolerable, I would not describe it as very clean. The hotel is older and it shows. My rate did not include any meals. The bed was... Read more

My wife and I really didn't want to write this review because we wanted to keep this place a secret, but it wouldn't be fair to the wonderful family that owns and operates White Sands Negril. We first stumbled upon this hotel in 2013 and have been coming back every year since then. We just booked our 2 week trip in April and are looking forward to waking up every morning and setting up our spot with our umbrella and chairs. The hotel is family owned and operated and they do listen and care a... Read more

We have been staying at White Sands since 2007, and the only reason we have ever stayed anywhere else is because White Sands was booked!! It seems like most everyone there is a return guest ~ and many have been visiting for years! The owners and staff are very friendly, and we always feel welcome as if we are part of the family. The location is central and walking distance to everything on the beach. You don't even have to leave White Sands if you don't want to as they are located on the bea... Read more
