Friendly staff await ,no hawkers selling wares , splendid cottages ,comfortable beds, and great food . We came as a couple and my son brought his family ,everyone was obliging and helpful . Close to Negril village but away from the harassment of sellers .Mouring doves hoot out a greeting ,while you watch the fishermen just off shore, frigate birds circle looking for handouts from the catch .

We have been to Tensing Pen every year fro the past eight years. If you want a small boutique hotel to relax in beautiful surroundings with a friendly staff and reasonably priced compared to similar places on One Love Drive). Cliffs and Rocks (No sand Beach-which was just fine for us). If you go be sure to visit Ras Rody's Organic Natural just opposite the entrance. Lovely cottages with Ocean views. Steps from the ocean.

My husband and I got married at this unique jewel of a place on Jul 8th, 2015. Our experience from the day we first spoke with the wedding coordinator, Shanique months before the big day till the last day of our stay at TP was AWESOME! We have family and friends who still talk about how beautiful the place and amazing the people are at TP. They all say it was the best wedding they've ever attended! Tensing Pen is a magical place; it‚??s hard to describe the beauty and peacefulness of this amazing cliff side boutique hotel. Wedding: My husband and I just returned from getting married at Tensing Pen this past April and could not be more grateful to all of the amazing staff who made it the wedding of our dreams. We truly could not have asked for a more perfect day! Planning a destination wedding is not the easiest thing as it is sometimes hard to picture what something will look like, taste... Read more

When looking for a place to stay in Negril, we were hoping to find a vacation rental but found Tensing Pen on Trip Advisor. I'm so glad we did. The rates were great so we decided to book a room here. When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome drink and a cool cloth soaked in rose water. Perfect for cooling off after the long drive from Kingston. We were brought to our room, Garden A, and were impressed by it to say the least. While there is no TV we found that this was perfectly okay for our... Read more

We have been to Jamaica on two other occasions; staying at all-inclusive resorts in Lucea and Montego Bay. This was our first stay in Negril and our first using a non-all incl resort. This is not 5 Star luxury but rather a unique "cabin on the cliffs' type of establishment with breathtaking views. It's very small so if you're looking to get away from it all and not be bothered with tons of people this is it! Great for honeymooners (which we were). If you're looking for great entertainment/mu... Read more

We stayed for a short weekend in June and loved this place! The resort is small and intimate. The rooms are more impressive than you would assume. We stayed in the Cove Cottage and couldnt be happier. You could see the ocean from our room, we had a GREAT AC unit and plenty of space. The reviews suggested this wasn't a private room but I would completely disagree. This could be because we went in the slow season but we never had an issue with privacy. The staff is very pleasant and the amenities ... Read more

This was a perfect couples getaway! Tensing Pen was the most beautiful hotel in the cliffs of Negril. Every single detail, the gardens, the views, and the staff were absolutely wonderful! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the front office and given fresh papaya juice and a hand towel. We were given a complimentary upgrade in our room and was situated at The Rock Cottage 1 which was right by the water! I fell in love as soon as I stepped in the room. Great spot for jumping, we stayed in North Pillar and it was a perfect little secluded hut facing the water. Continental Breakfast was provided, however we had to pay for our eggs (not too expensive though) I felt like we woke up to paradise every morning

Stayed for a weekend. Nice intimate place- only 17 rooms which is why we chose it over Rockhouse. Booked the garden A with air conditioning but got free upgrade to garden studio with air conditioning and balcony view of ocean! One of the best rooms we've ever stayed in and very unique. Loved jumping off The bridge and swimming in warm Caribbean waters. Even took raft one day and paddled along cliffs all the way to Rick's cafe where we swam and watched jumpers. My husband and I, plus family and friends have just returned from a weeklong holiday in Negril. We are a family of world travelers, seeking out / staying at a wide variety of accommodations, luxury to low-end. 25 years ago, my husband and I were married on the Seven Mile Beach at an all-inclusive resort. In the years since, we‚??ve stayed at several all-inclusives in Negril and Montego Bay. While great for families with kids, our boys are now grown so we wanted family and friends to enjoy a more... The hotel and their staff were awesome. Our room was perfect, very romantic. We had privacy in a wonderful place. The view from our room was great. I was able to swim freely off the cliffs. I only stayed here one night, but I really wish I had spent my whole vacation here. I would not recommend that you wander away from your resort at night on foot. I am always one to explore and visit with the locals. I don't recommend you do this in Jamaica. We witnessed a teenage boy trying to rob a young Eur... Read more

Tucked on top of the rocky cliffs of Negril, Tensing Pen gives visitors a real taste of Jamaica. After dividing our visit between an all inclusive in Runaway Bay and Tensing Pen, I would choose Tensing Pen again and again. The resort is intimate and the rooms are secluded from one another giving visitors a ton of privacy, which is why we chose this resort over Rock House. This resort is absolutely stunning. We came here for a wedding and it could not be more perfect. Located on the cliffs, it was so peaceful to sit and watch the dolphins swim by, and the sunsetting. The food was amazing, especially the buffet breakfast. The pool was always clean, and of course you could jump into the ocean for a swim as the water was crystal clear. All the rooms are special, and have a lot of character.

This non-inclusive resort (just breakfast) is located on the cliffs with easy access by ladders directly to the open ocean (no actual sand beach) in quiet protective coves which was refreshing and worked very well with us. The grounds are immaculate and full of local folliage and the rooms are nicely spread out for maximum privacy. We stayed in Seagrape 2 which was an excellent choice. Loved this hotel, with its large rooms, bed, bathroom and balconies. Not forgetting the amazing views. The room and bathroom etc was very clean and I'm quite picky. Hotel and restaurant staff were excellent too. My only complaint would be about the bad service and high costs of drivers and taxis but that's probably a trend in Jamaica. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

A family holiday brought us to this breath-taking resort where the blue-green waters and stony cliff-faces were brought into natural play with accommodation facilities. So many nooks and crannies to relax in with ajoupa style huts and hammocks, beautifully landscaped gardening and of course the breath-taking views from every room. Food was always tasty and other restaurants are within close proximity. A wonderful vacation.

Unfortunately, we only got to stay one night. We stayed in Middle Pillar and had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. Service was good (not great), and we enjoyed the location within walking distance of Rick's and Ivans Restaurant. I liked the "hut" feeling of Middle Pillar, but I would have preferred to have an indoor shower (the only shower is outdoor). Also, because of the location, it was quite noisy when trying to go to bed (but not too bad).

What a visual treat Tensing Pen is. This is a very small resort with approximately 15 rooms. The resort is situated on the extremely interesting cliffs of Negril which were largely created from volcanic activity millions of years ago. TP was built atop these cliffs which range from just a few feet above the ocean to at least 20-25 feet which creates some incredible visuals and very different from the beachfront properties a few miles down the road.
