This hotel is about 2-3 years old. It has very modern rooms. Jacuzzi baths separate shower. The rooms and hotel grounds are kept up to date, clean, neat and tidy. All inclusive hotel with hotel room mini bar. Abundance of food and drink including local cuisine which was very much appreciated. Check in and checking out was easy and quick. Not far from the hotel or local entertainment. Safe area with very strict security so you always feel safe whilst on the grounds. Taxis available from hotel lob... Read more

This place was fantastic!! My best friend and I travel to a resort every May; this time we went for 8 days from May 24-May 31. We arrived at the RIU PALACE at 11:30am and our room was ready! This almost never happens; I guess we got lucky. The employees were great! Everyone was so nice and eager to help, they always said hi to you as they walked by. There was always some type of entertainment going on, the entertainment crew was awesome! They got you up and moving and they were always happy a... Read more

My husband and I and I celebrated our 40th anniversary here from June 3rd to June 8th. I am so glad that we didn't let the few negative reviews determine our decision. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. Check in was a breeze, under 15 minutes: we requested a king size bed, and received a king size bed, The staff was great! Everyone was accommodating and served you before you even asked. Our room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, not too hard and not too soft. The buffet was g... Read more

Went with a few friends for a getaway. When we first got there it was raining, by the time we checked it and got settled it had stopped. Our rooms were right next to the construction where they are building a new building. Didnt hear any work going on while we were there. The only thing i didnt like was the fact that they had no elevator on that side of the building so it was a struggle to take your luggage up and down. So this place is rated 5 stars but I don't know what rating scale they are using. It is far from 5 star. While the resort is relatively clean and the staff is friendly there are too many discrepancies from what is advertised and what you can get. The windsurfer is free if you know how to do it, but if you don't you have to pay for it. There were 4 paddle boats: 3 broke, 1 working and a long line of irritated people wondering why the other boats are even in public view. Although these things... Read more

Just got back from a wonderful holiday. Riu Palace Montego Bay is one of the best we have ever stayed at. Staff ware amazing, a credit to the Riu organisation. Hotel was spotlessly clean, with an army of cleaners always on the go. Rooms were modern and clean, and always having clean towels and bedding. Bar,Pool and Restaurant staff were excellent and entertaining (would not be fair to mention individuals) as everyone we met contributed to a wonderful holiday for us. Food was always plentiful and... Staff was wonderful and entertaining. I celebrated my birthday here and the staff sang to me at breakfast and dinner. Aw the memories of just laying in hammocks and relaxing. Everything was wonderful. The only downfall to my vacation is we didn't get a chance to go to the sister resort until the last... Read more

This was our first time in Jamaica and I gotta be honest we love.love loved it. The people are amazing. I felt very secure from the moment we got off the plane. The Riu Palace adult only was amazing. Service was very friendly and many thanks to Morris Morgan for taking care of us. Food is amazing. Staff are always there to help with big bright smiles. Will be back Montego Bay. We have already planned another trip to the Riu in Negril for November. You will not be disappointed.

This property used to be absolutely amazing. There was a point in time when I would book here without a doubt. However, I've seen a steady decline in the quality over the past 2 years in. The most frustrating part about my last visit is there were so many noisy guests and things going on that shouldn't have happened. We complained to the staff on multiple occasions and nothing was done about it. I also referred a good friend of mine to the resort and she had the same experience. RIU Palace is st... Read more

So this is the 2nd time I have stayed in the Hotel Riu Montego Bay, and the 3rd time staying with the RIU chain. Now let me start by saying that I travel with a large group (over 80 people) and not one of those people can say they had a bad experience. I am a foodie so I have high expectations which were not met. Don't waste your time with reservations. Just eat at the buffet. Room service is a joke. Don't even waste your time ordering in. The staff was exceptional and always greeted you and asked if you needed anything. The only critique I have is that the beds are not like hotel beds in the US I think they could be a bit softer as far as the mattress. We were in a good location. My husband and I visited Riu palace 13-23rd July 2016, from check in to check out we were very impressed with the staff who throughout the resort are amazing from Audley at breakfast and lunch to kenesha at the lobby bar in the evening they go above and beyond, nothing is ever a hassle, the rooms look exactly like in the pictures and as I was with my husband the open plan set up didn't bother us, coffee maker was supplied but if you want tea bring a travel kettle, the hairdryer was fine and an... Just got back from a five day stay and must say it was very nice. Food was one of the best at an all inclusive that I've ever been to. If you can't find something you like, you're too picky. The rooms are nice, but the garden view we got was nothing more than a drainage ditch view to the neighboring Riu Palce family property and loading dock. Not good. The propert is small and I liked not having to deal with tons of people or unruly children. Nice pools. The hotel staff was amazing and w... Read more

Spent two weeks here with my hubby and we loved it.! It is 10 minutes from the airport and the planes do fly overhead regularly....this didn't bother us but then we have a similar situation at home. Quick check in and given a wee glass of bubbly on arrival. Our room........WOW! Large well decorated and immaculate. Huge bed, wet room, toilet, jet bath in room, his and her vanities. Wardrobe with robes, ironing board (if needed) fridge with well stocked mini bar which was refilled every day, optic... Read more

This review may help those travelling from the UK, especially Thomson customers but hopefully will be useful for anyone staying at the Palace. I have just returned from 7 nights at the Palace and had an amazing time so want to give a detailed review to do the hotel and its staff justice. The flight took roughly 9h30mins and went really quickly. The transfer to the hotel was only 10 minutes if that. We arrived to rain which concerned us as the metoffice app continually forecasts rain and stor... Read more

This hotel was not over crowded. You could always find a spot poolside or at the beach. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. The customer service is AWESOME! A couple of times I had to contact the front desk and they would call me back to make sure my requests had been met! And when I passed by the front desk they actually called me by name. WOW!!! One of my favorite front desk staff was Jonelle, she was the BEST! (I hope I spelled her name correctly) Me and o... Read more

I can't say enough about this resort! My friend and I traveled to Jamaica for the first time for a little rest and relaxation and RIU Palace did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived at the resort, the staff was incredibly warm and attentive. The restaurants and buffet were extremely clean and the food was excellent. The service at the restaurants was first class and the overall dining experience was enjoyable. My room was located on the third floor and had an ocean view. The view alone was... Read more

I will just touch on the basics on this review: Room: The room is nice and above average. I would recommend an oceanview or oceanfront. The garden views are not a pleasing view. I would give it a higher rating but the air conditioner did not work very well and the rain shower head in the shower did not work. Food: Below average. Room service very limited and not very good. The morning buffet above average. The specialty restaurants were all below average and the limited seating for reservatio... Read more

We have visited a number of Riu palace hotels, and while they have all been good, this hotel stands out. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I never needed to be without a drink in hand! Very quiet in August, but still plenty of staff, and they still have the full entertainment program, the Aqua ballet is amazing. A little bit of noise from the building of the new adults only hotel next door, but nothing too disturbing, as most of the construction is completed.

This hotel lives up to Riu's good reputation. All aspects of the hotel were of a high standard and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Every member of staff that we encountered seemed genuinely happy to work there. A special mention to Denroy in the reception bar who kept us entertained and Tenesha, the waitress, whose smile lit up the room. Also, Nadine in the breakfast room who went out of her way to keep customers happy. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and variety. We stayed ... Read more

Myself and my husband have just returned from this hotel and words can't describe how fantastic this holiday was. We spent the majority of our evenings in the lobby as Denroy was by far the best barman we have had the pleasure of meeting, his side kick Kanisha and bar manager Fabian were also amazing and made our holiday the best one we have ever had. We put our suits on and headed to pool grabbed a drink at the swim up bar. For dinner we ate at the Buffett and everything was fresh and great tasting. We liked that it was a smaller resort so you were not crowded. Getting into the reservation dinners was easy and nice that we could pick the times with out settling on the leftover times. This resort is not bad not great, but I would recommend with these caveats. I scheduled this trip for my birthday. I asked for a birthday greeting in my request or something birthday related. They noted my request on booking, nothing was done. Food at breakfast and lunch buffet was good. Plenty of options and did not seem old. I cannot understand how an all inclusive hotel has no place that you can go get snacks all during the night. The Aqua bar barely had food out and when they bought out foo... Read more
