"Everything was absolutely fantastic! The staff was as courteous and helpful as can be and very friendly. Our accommodations were as requested with a magnificent view of the ocean. The food was plentiful and there was always another choice available if necessary. The evening shows were very entertaining and the performers were excellent. The rum drinks were good but skip the wine, it was terrible!!

"My husband and I returned last night we stayed at RIU montego bay, the staff was very friendly, and always willing to help, the food was good, I love all 3 choices of having dinner at the restaurants, (no Tipping prior to dinner or reservations) The buffet was great , Lots of entertainment at the poolside on the beach and every night there was some sort of entertainment, we enjoyed every bit of it and would recommend my friends and family anytime....People looking for more or complaining should only book at 5 star hotels, I guess then there will be no surprises."

Patti from Brandon, Mb
"We went to this resort for a wedding and decided to add a week. Almost immediately, we regretted our decision. To be fair, we had spent 2 weeks at the Riu Palace Mexico in January so this resort paled in comparison. We were not expecting the same quality but we also were very surprised at some of the things that were missing at the Riu Montego Bay.
#!-SERVICE- very minimal. The staff was overwhelmed just cleaning off tables and resetting to actually offer service. There were meals where we were not even acknowledged. No pool or beach bar service. This was probably the most disappointing part of the holiday because it could be so easily rectified with more staff. Tipping didn't improve things because the staff just could not always keep up. There is no room service. The lack of service almost got comical at times. On one occasion a young woman told a waiter someone had spilled a drink and she was concerned about someone slipping - the waiter responded by pointing to where the rags were kept!
#2- CLEANLINESS- our room was immaculate every day! However, we tipped every day. Friends who were traveling with us did not receive the same service until they started tipping.
The pool was very grimy. Only once did we observe a staff person cleaning the pool (our last day) and it showed. The chairs and small tables on the beach were in poor repair and filthy. Although glasses and plates were picked up throughout the day, stacks of dirty dishes were a common sight.
#3-Washrooms- only 2 public area washrooms. Consequently, they were busy and it was common to have a couple of toilets plugged up and not usable.
#4-ENTERTAINMENT STAFF-evening entertainment was inconsistent but some of the dancing was excellent and enjoyable. The daytime staff offered games that were noisy, ridiculous and I really wonder who enjoyed them - highschool kids would be my guess. They actually had a beer chugging contest as entertainment!! They forced us away from the pool once the 3 0'clock 'entertainment' started. This was extremely annoying and unpleasant.
Aquasize class-was great fun! They gave us a good workout!
The Spa- was lovely. I had a fabulous massage in a lovely serene setting.
#5-THE BEACH- is manmade which is fine but as a result when you go into the water it is not sandy but slimy with seaweed. This did not bother me as i was comfortable swimming beyond the seaweed but it was a disappointment to many.
#6-ROOMS- were fine. We had an ocean front but basically we saw the tops of trees (not worth extra cost unless you are on top floor) There are no extras in the room - you get a fresh bar of soap every 2 days and your fridge is refilled every 2 days. The only thing we wanted more of was the bottled water - we could not get even 1 extra bottle in 2 weeks. I might add the water was all we used from the fridge.
#7-FOOD- was pretty good all round. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants and went back to each (except Steak House) a couple of times. The downside of the buffet were the lineups for everything from a fried egg to paella. It didn't seem to matter when you went and ate (except very early mornings when there were no lineups). I think the design contributed to this problem but it detracted from the dining room experience.
The jerk chicken on the beach was great but there were often lineups so when the lineup was only 6 deep we indulged.
#8- 'RULES NOT ENFORCED'- if some of the simple rules expected by the resort were enforced things would improve enormously such as: NO saving chairs (this is a real problem), dress codes in restaurants (if men are supposed to wear pants tell them when they arrive), cut off bar service to guests who are clearly very inebriated so fights don't break out (yes!) Plus, don't have beer chugging contests because some of your guests are not teenagers.
We will never return to this resort and I would suggest if you are considering this Riu be sure you know what you are getting so you won't be disappointed. If you are under 40 and want to party you might find this place just right! We actually had a chance to talk to the assistant manager and he did not disagree with our assessment. Clearly, the place is understaffed and with that, this Riu suffers in so many ways.
We will certainly visit Jamaica again but try another resort."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Riu in Montego Bay. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews, but I was not disappointed. The grounds are inpeccably maintained. The food and service were both outstanding. We especially enjoyed the pool atmosphere, with one of the best swim-up pool bars on the island. It was not luxurious, but it was a great value for the money. I have always traveled to Jamaica in January of February, and I learned a valuable lesson this time that needs to be shared: bring mosquito repellant! I would definitely return to this resort."

"We just returned from our week long vacation at RIU Montego Bay, Jamaica. Check in: Was very smooth. Jamelle and Shanay were FANTASTIC. Found the entire reservation check in staff exceptional. We upgraded to a better room (so we thought) only to find out that it wasn't any better than the previous (beds were very hard). We called the front desk and were told that they were fully booked and would try to accommodate us the next morning. True to their word, they did just that. We were in building 6 (far enough away from the nightly entertainment to get a good night's sleep). We were upgraded to a Suite and it was exceptional. The bartenders make the 'punch' in the reception are were great! The pool was always crowded. If you were not up at 6 AM, you could not get a seat by the pool all day. There was an middle aged lady at the towel hut that would reserve you a seat for $5 a towel. Not exactly fair! I am not sure the Management is aware of this. Many of the chairs stayed 'reserved' all day, with no one ever in them. Food: Food was poor. Same things on the buffet everyday. The food in the restaurants that you make reservations, was mediocre and best. The Italian restaurant, was very slow and the food was luke warm. The Steakhouse had wonderful service. However, the food again was mediocre. The steaks were very tough, but had a good flavor. The :'fun staff' was anything but!!! Once a day they played a game or two. Nikki was extremely rude. She didn't want anyone to 'help' the players and when you tried to do so, she would say 'you need to be quiet'. I was under the impression that everyone there was a paying customer. I also observed other team members of the 'fun staff' doing the same thing. Drinks/service: There was no bar service by the pool or the beach. It seems that there were a lot of staff but not one offered anyone a drink. A few of the bartenders were exceptional. However, most of them, decided to serve whomever had a tip in hand and ignored the rest. One was the best. He was attentive to everyone, regardless of whether you were holding a tip. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate our overall experience as a 3! Won't ever return to a RIU again!"

"Overall our stay at RIU Montego Bay was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room, the food, the entire facility and experience was great. The two glitches with our stay were not the fault of the staff or facility - the first was some guests with too much money and absolutely no class!! The second was an accidental fire at the gift shop. Again I would highly recommend the RIU. Thanks for a very memorable stay."

"WOW! What a nice vacation that was. Riu Montego Bay is a great place to stay. Everything from the hotel its self to the food, drinks, shows and staff were top notch. The staff could not have been more accomodating and hotel.... soooo clean. We have been to many places and I would rate this one near the top. If we had any complaints, the coffee at the hotel could have been better but thats just being nitt-picky i guess. Thanks RIU, great job!!!!"

"Expected an upgrade, didn't get one, however the room was nice/clean, ok view, great breeze. Drinks were great, food was ok & had variety. Definitly book dinner reservations upon arrival-literally!
What I didnt like at all was there was NO pool or beach service. First time traveling to a 4 or 5star resort and didnt have-very disappointing since the pool bar was cramme with party folks and you had to wait forever on a drink. So when I got a drink at the pool bar, I just learned to get two at a time.
Everyone was friendly as usual in Jamaica-one of the reasons I go vs. Cancun. The main thing to be was no pool or beach service since both were so large."

"The hotel was amazing!! The staff were awsome and sooo friendly!!! They are so willing to help you and they go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are really nice and the resort is beautiful!! The shows and entertainment is awesome as well!! Everything really is all inclusive so you don't even have to carry your wallet around. Some places say all inclusive and they make you pay extra for the restaurants at the resort or a soda package but not this place. The food was okay. It was good some nights. But they do need to upgrade their food quality only reason why I didn't give it 5 starts is because the food is pretty much buffet style with the same options every night. If you get lucky and get a reservation at the restaurants the steakhouse is the best they actually have a menu and its good food The other places are buffet style and pretty mediocre. Great Resort all in all though!!"

"The facility was decent ,had decent amenities .If you are a big beach person then this hotel is not for you since the beach is man made and has weeds in it. The staffing is inadequate for the size of the hotel which calculate to poor service. I believe there is a lack of training for the staff since there in an inconsistency with the service they provide.
If you have kids do not depend on the kids club since they are not organized and not available.Do not say you have a kids club when not even the front desk talk to you about it even though you are checking in with a child.(their need to be more training on how the front desk do the orientation for the guest).
Note to staff stop focusing so much on a tip, it will come if you do your job and your treatment of guest who are not big tippers should not be substandard since they paid for their package( a few guest expressed their dissatisfaction in that department to me).I think there is a need for improvement since some guest express that the standards dropped a bit since the last time they stayed at the resort."

"The resort's close proximity to the airport meant there was only a short ride to the resort. The food, by all-inclusive standards, was pretty good; in fact some was better than what we had at other, similar resorts (the jerk chicken, cooked hot at the beach grill, was really good). The bar tenders were generally pretty good. The entertainment staff worked hard to make the stay enjoyable. They were generally friendly and engaging.
Next the so-so--The beach was just okay for me. The little bay meant calm water. The sand was soft and clean. The palm trees were pretty. But, it is a fairly small beach area and there is a lot of seaweed in the water, which by Caribbean standards is kinda murky. The pool area is a nice size (not the biggest we've enjoyed) but the way the chairs are arranged it is hard to find a place that will let you stay in the sun. At least half of them were completely out of the sun. The pool bar was nice (one side a swim-up and the other side out of the water) but there was only one bar in the pool area. It was quite busy and loud at times.
Finally the negative--The room we had was small and dark. We did not up-grade our room. However we have stayed at other resorts, in the cheapest rooms they had, that were much, much larger and nicer. It was smaller than a room at a LaQuinta Inn. Not even a walk-in shower; just a standard tub/shower combo. My room was clean and did not have a musty smell; it was just very underwhelming. The biggest complaint we had was that there was very little real service. The staff was never rude to us, they just were not very attentive. This was despite the fact that I was tipping (regularly). All of your meals are almost completely self-service. All bar service is at the bar. Even in the lounge or at the shows there was no table service. All the bar maids did was bus tables for empty glasses. Do NOT go to this resort and expect to be pampered. It ain't gonna happen.
We chose Riu because we wanted to go to Jamaica and we got a good deal. All in all we had a good time. Problem was, we've been other places and had a great time. There's much better than this resort."

"In this age of technology, it is very disappointing that a first rate hotel would not have internet service in the rooms. It would not cost the hotel anything to get internet in each room so that guests, especially business guests who want to get on line and catch up on work after a fun day be able to get on their computer in their room. If the hotel wants to make money off the internet service, they could charge a reasonable fee to guests who wish to get on line in their rooms. I think that would be a much better way to handle the internet use rather than one having to go into the office area to access internet. This is very backward for the time we're in today."

"I will not return to this Riu and will likely never stay at Riu again. Some staff members were helpful, while others were very rude and lazy. We got different info from different staff members. We had to cut our arm bands because we were in a wedding. They told us to save them and have them put back on after the wedding. We went to the desk and the lazy girl said oh, come back in the morning. She didn't feel like doing the paperwork. Some ppl were given new bracelets with no problem. I was told I had to go back to my room and get my ID. It took me at least 30 min of back and forth before I was issued a new blanket. The food was underwhelming. There was one shrimp dish I really enjoyed, but that was it. The resort is small and activities are limited. I have stayed at Excellence in DR and that place set the standard very high for me. This place did not match that standard. The Riu isn't terrible-the view from the room was great, but I would not stay here again. Also, the water at the beach is not clear and there is a lot of seaweed. We took a catamaran out for a tour and the water was much more clear than at the Riu. I never got used to the sound of the airplanes flying overhead because the airport is so close. My friends had to change rooms 3 times, once time being because there was sand in the bed that they had yet to sleep in. Yuck. Each day we had to request fresh towels or wash clothes. Some rooms have irons, some don't. Some have extra blankets, some don't. And some have umbrellas, while others don't. I dislike the inconsistency. Granted, we wouldn't have known this if not traveling with such a large group. (wedding). I also dislike that you need dinner reservations to eat at the themed restaurants. They are crazy about their beach towels-u get a beach towel card that costs $20 to replace if lost. The room key costs $50 to replace if lost. It was difficult to get into the room with the key because no one told us there was a certain way to do it. The front desk also failed to inform us that there was a power button in the room and that you must turn it on for anything to work. There were also times when no one would answer the front desk phone. Overall, I'd never stay here again and will probably never stay at any Riu."

" I must say that we were kinda disappointed in this trip.
When checking in, we got a key that would not open the door. After about an hour of bickering, we were moved to another room. We paid extra for an oceanview room, but our balcony was in back of a large tree, so we couldn't see the ocean. The air conditioning BARELY worked and the room was always hot, even at night. The ceiling fan had no chain, so we couldn't put the fan on high.
The food was actually pretty good and the selection was great. The dining rooms were not air conditioned though, and the fans just blew hot air. I knew it would be hot but there was no place to go to cool down.
The pool was nice but the drinks were weak. There was hardly any entertainment during the day. Really, shouldn't you expect to hear some reggae music in Jamaica ? No live music during the day.
The nightly shows were poor and repetitive. I can only take so much booty shakin dancing before it gets old.
The beach area was tiny and you are constantly approached but drug sellers.
Don't leave the resort because the poverty is overwhelming and everybody wants to sell you something.
I personally don't think this resort was up to standards but we really didn't pay that much and made the best of it."

"First of all I would like to comment on the Staff! They all do a great job. Winston and MJ at the pool bar especially. Even one of the groundskeepers. My daughter asked him about a coconut, and he went and found her one and cut it open so she could drink the water! They all go out of their way to make you feel welcome! I know it's part of their job, but I have been to other RIUs in Mexico and DR ( Punta Cana) and the server wasn't even close! Now! as far as rating other areas of the resort:
Food: pretty good. the Jerk chicken and sausage grilled on the beach everyday for lunch was great! The buffets were pretty basic but good. standard breakfast food ( eggs, sausage, bacon, pcakes, Frenchtoast, omelets, rolls, etc,)
lunch food ( burgers, hdogs, fish, pork, chicken, salads, pizza, desserts)
dinner food ( theme nights - mexican, chef's choice, international, etc)
There are 3 theme al-a-carte restaurants ( steak, asian, and italian) I didn't care for the italian or asian... they were both buffets, not really al-a-carte... It may have been the case just the night we ate there, dont' know. We ate at the steak house 2 nights . had ribeye, and strips. not bad, but not the 2 inch think steak either. more like 1/2 inch. just order it med rare and you will be ok! My daughters had the shrimp/steak skewers!
Drinks: great, except didn't see much in the line of name brand imported liquoirs.
If you like beer, rum, or gin, you will be ok! Red Stripe beer is pretty good!
didn't see much Tequila... but then again, this ain't Mexico!
Rooms: we went with the ROH, since we spend our time on the beach not in the room. they were ok, average size. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping them clean! We asked for ajoining rooms, but didn't get because of availability, we did get rooms next to each other, so we were OK with that!
Beach: Not the biggest in the world. Small for a big resort! one VB court! might want to bring our own VB ball. the beach equipment was worn out! the balls needed replaced years ago! The sand on the court was more like hardpack! my knee cuts are a testiment to that!. Not a lot of shade on the beach either! plenty of beach chairs, so you don't have to worry about finding a chair. They have two Hobicat sailboats, and you don't have to reserve a time. It's first come first server to use them. We never had to wait for a boat. However, it the wind comes up, they won't let you take them out. They also have paddle boats and kayaks. again first come first serve.
Water. The water at the beach is much better in Punta Cana and Mexico. the water at the RIU very calm due to the offshore reef the blocks all the waves. not worth trying to snorkel close to shore. you need to take the resort boat out to the freef for that. The cost was $30 per person. but go to the lobby and get signed up for a RIU Club card. 15% discount on all resort activities. makes a difference for a family of 4.!
Pools: didn't spend much time there, but did get in a couple of times!
They have 2. both have vball nets if you are into that. One has the swim up bar.
Plenty of chaises with shade around the pool. Overall the pools are nice. Since I have a pool at home, I'm more into the beach!
Entertainment/shows: pretty much the same as those in Mexico and DR. the basic dancing and crowd participations type shows!
Side Trips: We normally don't leave resorts, but did on this trip. we went to the Dun River falls. 1 1/2 hr bus ride each way! my kids like it, but I didn't think much of if. it is just a small creek that runs out of the mountains into the ocean.
They have covered all the rocks with Gunite, Ie sprays the rocks with cement!
you get to walk up the creek/falls and play in the water. The place is way to commercialied and overcrowded to enjoy. you have to go in groups, and hold hands to walk up the falls, you don't get to spend anytime just playing around. when you get to the top, it's out of the park, cut off your wrist band and back on the bus. Too me it was not worth the $48 per person! but it was worth seeing how folks in Jamaica live... you will get too see alot while on the bus ride
Overall impression: Not a bad place at all! but, after 6 days, however, the food kinda gets old! the same variety every day! The grilled chicken on the beach was definitely good. Even had one day where the head chef came down and cooked a big spead on the beach. The resort is fairly small, so if you are into resorts were it takes days to see it all or you have 7 or 8 restaurants to pick from (ie Barcelo Maya Beach resort in Playa De Carma Mexico, ) you may not like this place. Also, the resort is about 2 to 3 miles from the airport, and is at the end of the runway, so during the day, there are noisy planes coming overhead. Not too bad, but you will notice ! Would I go back??? yes, not necessarily because of the food or beach, but because of the people who work there! They are very polite, respectful, and appreciative of you being there. I definely can't say that for other places I've been, especially the Dominican Republic ( Punta Cana).

"Just got back from Montego Bay Jamaica and the stay was great and I think anyone who goes there will enjoy it. But let me give future travelers a little advice.
1. When you go to shop don't buy at the first shop because I gaurantee you will find the very same item a shop or two away that they would have sold it to you for less. So don't buy look in the various shops and then haggle with them for the best price and you will get it.
2. No matter where you go it seems that the minimum taxi is $20 oneway! Notice I said minimum. In the lobby at the taxi desk there is a board that shows the taxi fare for various locations, however get with a taxi driver and talk directly with him and use him throughout your stay and he will discount your fare for repeat business. Best to get with another couple and split the fare. I lost my cell phone on the way down and this guy was so nice he let us use his cell phone when ever we needed to call back to the U.S.
3. Speaking of phone calls, they don't tell you so you better ask but that room phone is $1.00 per min for local callls and $12 the first min for international calls.
Jamaica is like all the other caribean islands beautiful beaches and fun activities but the tourism wealth doesn't appear to trickle down to the locals so you will see poverty outside of your resort so be kind and don't judge people.
The beauty of the caribean is some of God's best work you will like it there.
And they had a beach party , the next night there was a Micheal Jackson impersonator stage show that was great and then two nights later there was the Grease stage show, so maybe they fixed that entertainment complaint pretty quik."

"Just got back from our trip. We had a good time, but it was very hot and humid, which we expected for July, but we also expected to have place to get out of the heat. Air conditioning in room didn't work very well and the fan wasn't much help. Beds were so hard and uncomfortable that it may take a week for our backs to recover from that. Not a lot to do at the resort, especially at night. Entertainment was cheesy. They close the pools too early, they should be open at night especially since they are well lighted. People want to go swimming in the evening and nighttime, but they closed at 7:00, opened at 8:00. Couldn't really night swim on the beach either as there was absolutely no lighting for that. It is pretty there, but you can't snorkel as it is too muddy to see anything. Beaches are clean and well taken care of, but not a whole lot of area to roam in. In order to really see Jamaica you had to book tours through the hotel which were expensive and unorganized. We booked one and they didn't even come to pick us up at the appointed time. Said we didn't have a reservation even though we had a receipt for payment. Finally got our money back. Aside from the tour staff, the resort staff was very friendly throughout the resort and very helpful. Buffet staff was especially friendly and willing to help with anything you needed. Good food in the buffet, pretty good assortment of food daily. Asian restaurant was horrible - first no air conditioning and they were stir frying in the same room, could have gotten heat stroke in there. Food was awful and it was a silly setup - give you a menu and then say there's the buffet go help yourself- what's up with that? Italian was good for lunch, didn't make it there for dinner. Steakhouse was wonderful. Staff was especially attentive and tried hard to keep up with the number of tables assigned to one person (sometimes 10 or more) Food was very good and well timed. Would have eaten there again, but ran out of time. One big drawback was no room service and in order to get something to eat after normal breakfast, lunch or dinner hours you had to walk clear across the property to find something. REALLY NEED TO HAVE ROOM SERVICE!!! Don't really know of any all inclusives that don't have room service. Mini bar in room was nice to have, but they only filled it every two days so you would run out of water, beer or sodas fast. There was also no bar service on the beach. If you wanted a drink you had to walk about a quarter mile to ge it at the one bar that was open by the pool or to sports bar. By the time you got back you drinks were melted or hot. Also need to have coffee available for people in the morning before 8:00 which is when the breakfast buffet opened. Some people do get up before then and want their coffee. Overall it was an average place to stay, staff was great but that doesn't make up for all that was lacking. Probably won't go back to that resort. Definitely will go back to Jamaica."

"I vacationed with my children. The food was great. The hotel room was average. The hotel did not have keyless entry doors, we had to struggle to open the door with a key that was on a key ring everytime we wanted to get into the room. We had problems with the safe which were easily resolved. Was very inconvient booking dinner reservations. In order to book dinner reservations you have to go to the customer service desk which is ran by one person. The steakhouse is not even worth the trouble going to, 'service is poor and it takes about an 1.5hrs before you get the main course. The jerk shack is great. The buffets are great. Really nice pool. No WIFI in the rooms , only in the heated lobby and service is poor"

"My family stayed at the Riu in Cancun two years ago and loved it, so decided to stay at the Riu Montego Bay. The beach was tiny and the pool closed at 6pM. There was never any live music and the sound systems weren't good. The entertainment was poor and repetitive.
There was no place to escape the heat. None of the restaurant areas are air conditioned. The AC in our room barely did anything and the ceiling fan did nothing.
To be fair, the food was pretty good but it was too hot to eat."

"My husband and I vacationed in Jamaica and stayed at the Riu Montego Bay Resort. We chose the resort because it was all- inclusive and felt that the price for the 5 day stay was very reasonable. We had a great time at the resort. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice and clean. Our only complaint about the resort would be the critters (roaches) in the room and we were not particularly fond of the food in the main dining room. Breakfast was by far the only food we really enjoyed. We ate mostly burgers and fries at the Mo Bay restuarant. We did not get to eat at any of the speciality restuarants becaused they were booked. We enjoyed the excursions we went on as well. Overall we had a good trip!"

"We traveled with our friends and had a fantastic time. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a beach front room in build 5 and it was worth every penny of the upgrade. Perfect view of the beach and the ocean right from the porch. The staff was great! We never ran into one employee that was in a bad mood. The bar tenders would get busy and take orders at random, which was a little annoying at times, but hey come on it was at the FREE BAR!! The water excursions are worth the price. We bought the one for Margaritaville. Along the way you stop at a reef for snorkeling which was an amazing experience, tho we were severely disappointed with Margaritaville, the cruise itself was above amazing. This place I would definitely recommend to people and would come back. I was impressed to the point of using RIU in my other traveling adventures."

"Listen I am not writing this review to bad mouth RIU or Jamaica...'to me it is, what it is' but i just want people to know they get what they pay for...so let me start off by saying the things I read in other reviews concerned me and made me nervous about booking this trip but then i thought to myself..'ahhh some ppl probably just overkill in there reviews'..it couldn't be that bad!!!! WRONG!!!!!....lol...well let me say the things that I read that were bad about RIU....ended up being about 98% true and the same goes with the Good things I read that ppl said....
For instance, the 'BAD THINGS' that i read were >> be aware of roaches in the room...(true)....hard beds and room smell a little mildew....(true)....not much variety in food...(true)...some of the staff not to friendly...(true)....water on the beach having a lot of Seaweed...(true)...to many kids running around unsupervised ( true)...To many people smoking everywhere( true)...there is only wireless internet in the lobby area..(true)....if you want good service at the bar you better be ready to tip ( true)...flying Spirit airline is the worst way to travel...they nickel and dime you for everything ( TRUE)
The 'GOOD THINGS' such as >> The grounds were very well kept and nice (true)...the entertainment crew at the hotel was very good and work hard for us to have a good time ( true) alot activities to do and never a boring minute (true)...nice pool with a pool bar ( true)....the jerk chicken is the best thing going at the grill ( true)....the club and night time shows are cool ( true)...there was always food and drink available inside and outside your room 24hrs a day (true)... if you complain to the management at RIU you will see results ( true).....the front desk people were professional and nice ( true) ......the majority of the complaints we had about our room and food service ,Etc were handled (TRUE)...the food is good and 'no flies' in food ..food dining area is very clean but gets repetitive in your choices (TRUE)
When we complained to the manager on duty he/ she took care of the situation
( no matter how small or big it was)...not immediately... but they did make good on making things enjoyable for us!!!!! so therefore, I recommend this resort to anyone looking for a 'VALUE' type All - Inclusive Resort..under $1,000 dollars...it has its share of problems but what resort/ hotel doesn't????? so think about it.....Like i said in the beginning of this..'it is what it truly is!!! So don't expect anything more or less.... this is my HONEST review of my time spent in Mobay RIU resort ....so on that note I will return to a RIU resort again one day!!!...maybe not the one in Jamaica :) but I did like the style and staff at RIU overall :) so i will be back.... I hope this helps some people make a good choice...also this is my first time giving a review, you probably can tell since it so long...lol..sorry!"

"Our trip was awesome! The staff at the hotel was helpful, friendly and great people! Overall, it was a great time (it was our honeymoon) The room and food was great. However, I wouldn't make reservations for the Mahoe Bay steakhouse, we thought the varioety of food at the Rose Hall Buffett was out of this world! The only drawback to our trip was our catamaran cruise. It was scheduled for 9:30am, and we didn't find out about until 9:21. It was suppose to have been dinner on the catamaran. Book it.com wouldn't refund our money on that, as they had no other availability until Thursday which happened to be day we were leaving. I would double-check any purchased vouchers before leaving home. Next time we are going to book our excursions at the hotel instead of online. Definitely will go back to this Hotel resort again!

My boyfriend and I had a great time. The only two feedback I have regarding the accomodations are one the beds are extremely hard I still have a back ache. Secondly, I would've love to have more native meals. It seems that I was still in NY ordering from a restaurant. I wanted to see more traditional Jamaican meals.
But loved it and would absolutely go back (once they get new mattresses) :).

We did call and ask for our refrigerator to be restocked. They were in our rooms within ten minutes. The best food we had was the salmon at the Italian restaurant. We did not have any problems with the food at the other restaurants either. I would suggest eating the jerk chicken at the beach for lunch! It was delicious.
We kayaked, played volleyball, did aerobics, danced, drank and had a great time. I would definitely recommend this to friends!"

"Our first initial thought for booking Riu Montego Bay was that it would be the same great fun as we had in Riu Santa Fe, Los Cabos. The overrall environment was too relaxed and laid back, more family orientated and couples retreat. We were looking for the party scene, sorry, wrong resort or destination.
The food could have been better, it all looked SO delicious and tastey, but bland once you take a bite into.
The cleanliness was to par with comparison Los Cabos.
The staff were friendly, at least to our group, we basically had all the shine during our stay. Most of the bar staff hated our group, everytime we would come up the bar and order 15 rounds of chilled tequila, they would have the most annoyed look on their face. I guess they were expecting to be tipped, but who actually brings cash to the pool? If your service was nice and friendly and actually smiled, we gave you tip. The overall experience was enjoyable, 8 days definately wasn't enough. The saddest part is that they didn't have an infiniti pool!!!
Off the resort places to go would be Margaritaville for day time and night time party/activities as well as Pier 1 on Friday nights."

Food was as expected and similar to what we had in the Bahamas last year. "We just returned from our first visit to Jamaica, and I must say, out of all places I visited and resorts I stayed, Riu was the best one. The hotel was very nice and clean but what really made the experience an unforgettable one was the staff. It was the nicest, friendliest and most helpful staff. Food and activities were great and nightly entertainment on the resort was definately worth seeing. Rooms were great, drinks off the chain and smiles were plenty. We participated in the Ideal Couple game, had a blast and won! "Just spent the week of 5/14 in Montego Bay with my sister and 5 friends. We had a wonderful time! If /when I return to MoBay, you'll find me at the Riu. Rooms and facilities were clean. The food was good (a number of westernized dishes, but also some Jamaican twists). There were some critters, but I expect them on the islands, and there was nothing all that terrible. Every drink included rum, and you can ask for extra if not strong enough. I was skeptical, because they are some pretty negative posts, but this hotel and the staff were wonderful for me. We did a few tours of the city (driving /riding is hellacious), and were able to see some of the 'real' Jamaica that you don't always get to see. We had a great time, and can't wait until the next time. Thanks Riu!"

The only 1 small drawback is the pool bar closes at 6:00pm and needs to stay open at least until 8. Other than that, it was a great time from start to end. "Oh My Gosh! Ive never seen such negativity about a great place to vacation. We just got back and still cant stop talking about the 7 glorious days we all spent there.1.There were no bugs! 2. The beds were just right(maybe not like the one you have at your house). 3.The rooms we had fully stocked with everything. I ask for wash cloths @ 7 pm and got them immediately. The entertainment crew were FABULOUS and always went out of their way to greet ppl.We loved the pool and the swim up bar.,how convenient. They have a different show for you every nite and pre show games to get things on the go.We did one excursion and it was the Catamaran Cruise, everything has its pros and cons, but once you see the sun set in Montego Bay you dont give a flip It had snorkleing available and over to Jimmy Buffetts/Margariteville. Now, yes there are 3 specialty restaurants you have to make reservations at and there ok.Be sure you eat at the steak house and you will be set. The buffet is always good to go. Jerk Chicken on the beach is good, but if you want the best in Jamaica go to Scotchys in town.......YUM! The hotel was wonderful and it is just as beautiful. Listen to us and goooo! You make ur vacation what you want it to be. Do ur on research and you cant go wrong. We have been to Jamaica before and this was by far the best trip we have taken. We do recommend The RIU in Montego Bay,Jamaica!!!!"

Hotel is conveniently located between Ocho Rios And Negril. Also nice souvenir shopping plaza located across the street from the hotel. We had a great time! Would definitely stay again!"

"We had a great experience except when we arrived, my friend was putting away her clothes in the drawers and the drawer fell out on the floor and she hurt her toe so bad. She limped around for her entire trip. One of the rollers in the drawer was broken. Had to make several trips to the nursing station. We kind of felt the nurse should have reported the incident. This may prevent this accident happening to somebody else."

"The staff was quite aloof and unfriendly. The wait staff did not even bring our drinks while eating, on the beach, or at the pool. The food was lousy. Restaurants were buffet style and tasted poorly. The bed was hard and towels and sheets were rough like sandpaper. The beach was horrible, not enough sand; the water was cloudy and had slimy moss that you stepped on with 3 inches of muck that you waded in and seaweed - absolutely gross! Planes were close and loud. Entertainment was bad with only one night of 6 with a decent show."

"I stayed in building 1. Entertainment food and staff was great,Kids were not happy the pool closed at 7p.m. there was nothing else for them to do.The room smelled of mildew, had to wash all the clothes I did not use,the sheets always felt damp,The mattress was hard. I never brought food in the room and I had lots of Roaches and Ants. Complained numerous times, they said they would take care of it,nothing was done.I thought staying at a more expensive hotel would be better,The kids liked the hotel we stayed last year better which was much cheaper and our clothes did not smell and we did not have roaches.Still upset over all the money I spent."

"This was the second trip for me and my adult children to Jamaica. After reading several reviews we were a little cautious because of negative responses. This is very close to the airport so we expected the planes to be flying over - on our first day there, 30 planes flew over very low, however, after that only 5 -10 a day generally between 9 am and 6 pm. Did not disturb us as we spend a lot of time on a beach near a Naval Air Station where planes start at 5am. The food does become tiresom after a couple of days. Our best dinner was at the Asian Restaurant - we had a reservation but did not need it as the place was nearly empty. Our rooms were very nice and kept clean without tips. I think staff were always eager to please - they have great attitudes. I think we would consider staying here again."

"We traveled here last week and had a great time! The staff was friendly and accomodating. The room that we paid for was not ready on our arrival, but we were able to move the next day with no problem. The locals are also warm/friendly people. We met a particular man and he was good to us. He was so kind to take us on an all day tour and show us around Jamaica. That was the highlight for us. The food was just ok. This was our first trip to an all inclusive and I read many reviews before booking this trip. Everybody was pretty much right about resort food. We did enjoy the 'Jamaica Night' with the local foods and music. The weather was great, the excursions were also nice. Views were great. However, other reviews mentioned the smell in the rooms. They are correct and that stinch is present in everything that was in the room. The beach was nice, but the seaweed and the slimy feeling on the bottom was absolutely gross!!!! Pool area was also nice, wasn't too crowded. We were only able to get reservation for one restaurant, but there was a great host that allowed us to dine even without a reservation (of course a tip helped). Although this is an all inclusive resort, please take some tipping money. The staff works hard and they deserve it. There was one thing that I didn't like...the locals tend to beg and hound you to buy something or give them money, even when you are on the beach trying to relax. This became very annoying by the end of our trip. The entertainment was fun and there was something going on every night. Someone else mentioned the mosquitoes, and they were right. I was almost eaten alive sitting on the beach or our balcony at night, bring the bug spray. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will return to Jamaica next year. Would recommend for anybody to experience going here."

The beds are very hard and the pillows like a bunch of foam balls in a pillow case. The rooms just need a little more updating the base of quality is there but if they would just finish it up with quality."

I made sure I tipped so I suggest other ppl tip cuz these ppl work hard for us. Don't be cheap tip in American. Don't change ur money. Keep in American and buy liquor in the hotel or at the airport duty free. Much cheaper than outside. Be careful of the over charging taxi service. Over all the best place for relaxation."

"Riu Montego Bay Resort was very nice and we enjoyed our trip very much and would go back in a minute. We were only able to get reservations at one of the restaurants which was disappointing.........but we had already found out on previous 'all inclusive trips' that is normally the case. Reservations fill up very quickly. The local people were all very friendly and accommodating. Last year we traveled to Punta Cana, DR and stayed at the Riu resort there and liked it so much we wanted to try another one of their resorts. We were not disappointed."

"The weather was beautiful and the food was good. The resort was not the cleanest. The room had a terrible smell to it. We had to keep the door open when we were in the room to air it out. It had a mildew, moldy smell in it. The dampness in the room made our clothes damp and smelly. We had asked for a room near the rest of our party with a king bed and got a 'family' room with 3 beds, on another floor. NOT IMPRESSED!!! The beach was horrible, we couldn't go in the water it was slimy and mucky bottom. Because the beach sucked so bad the pool was very crowded. Oh and by the way, there was not 4 pools as stated. The harrassement of people trying to sell you things on the beach was totally ridiculous. These people were locals and while there was staff members on the beach watching they did not stop them. The staff on the other hand was friendly and nice. Always a smile. The entertainment left alot to be desired. All of this was done by the staff as well!! There was not much to do on the resort. We did travel to Dunn River Falls which was fun. But there again it was an added expense (worth it though) and the begging for tips was outrageous. Where as we dont mind tipping we dont like getting chased and harrassed until we give them money. This was not at the resort itself but anywhere else we went. We were very disappointed in the resort and would not stay here again!!!! "

"Was totally discussed! Had to change rooms due to an investation of cockroaches, the 2nd room wasn't much better, needless to say my quality of sleep was terrible. Combined with the uncomfortable beds and either flat or lumpy pillows. If the rooms are crawling with cockroaches - WHAT IS IN THE KITCHENS!!! Never saw them vacuum the pools, especially the swim up bar pool. Could not see the bottom of it - I guess it is a combination of drinks being spilt, lotion and of course urine! It was my birthday while away, so my daughter attempted to do something special. Customer service said all they did was cakes, so my daughter order a cake for me which we never saw. Our alarm clock was broken so we asked for a wake up call for our travel day to return home - never got that either, thank God my daughter set her alarm on her phone. It wasn't enough to deal with bugs in the room, out by the pool at the tops of these white pillars were earwigs as well as cockroaches. Do you need more? NEVER EVER WILL I RETURN OR RECOMMEND - WHAT A DUMP!"

"We got married the Riu. We had a great time with a few minor glitches. The ROOM....as we was walking through the hallway of the hotel towards our room, we noticed an awful smell. As we entered the room, it smelled just as bad as the hallway (like a bad mold smell). The housekeeper was in the hallways and we asked for some air freshener, but they came in and sprayed the room themselves. Well it didn't help. We ended up asking around and was told about a mini market across the road from the hotel....went walked over and bought some Clorox bleach and air freshener (wow...cleaning while on vacation) but it helped and room no longer had a bad odor during our stay. While we was wiping down the room, my husband found a dead frog under the sink that appeared to have been there for quit a while (which made me question whether the rooms are properly cleaned). The FOOD....I must say that the food was pretty good....better than I expected. I had an issue with the lunch buffet at the steak house. For one, its outdoors and flies are flying around the food and on the plates (YUCK). You have to make reservations for some of the resturants for dinner (which isn't that easy to get) and after eating at the steak house twice for dinner, we didnt think that it was worth it. We much rather ate at the buffet resturant because it was more food to pick from. The STAFF...everyone was nice. My husdand and I was shocked at how nice everyone was...The customer service is awesome. The ENTERTAINMENT....we felt that the resort was a bit boring. We was hoping that they had jet skies, but instead they had paddle boats (BORING). The shows at night was also a bit boring to us. The Michael Jackson show is ok, but of course, that was on our last night there. The WEDDING....that was the BEST part of all. The coordinators did an excellent job. The only problem I had is that the locations of the gazebos were a little too close to the public. We would have liked for it to have been a little more private instead of being a few feet away from the beach goers. The resort has its ups and downs but we would definitely go back again......with a bottle of bleach and air freshener :-)"

"Other than the beautiful weather, there was nothing good about this resort. The rooms smelled, the food was bad, the service was terrible, the place was dirty. There were constantly people trying to sell you things, including drugs, from the beach. Non-guests were allowed on the beach, I even saw one man empty garbage in a shopping bag, claimed it was to feed his dog. Worst of all, the resort is next to the airport, so there are planes flying very low over all day long. Furthermore, we lost 2 days of a 5 day trip due to the absolutely horrible flight reservation with American Airlines. "

"We chose this location because it was 4yrs old. I wont rant b/c it was not that bad of an experience thanks to the friendliness of the staff. However the cons: The hotel issued actual door keys not a key card but 1 door key with a $20. deposit for and additional key that may or may not match. The bed was extremely hard, I guess they figured that you'd get to drunk from the rum to realize this. Finally the food left a lot to be desired. We fought for reservations at two of the exclusive restaurants at the resort and was terribly surprised. In most all exclusive resorts the 'exclusive' restaurants are a step away and two to three steps above the common area buffets in the quality of food and service. With this in mind we got dressed up to go to a chinese buffet, really. Our second reservation was at the Steak House. Imagine waiting in line and notice that your exclusive meal is being carted in before you eyes in hot boxes. The dinning area for the steak house converted nicely from the lunch buffet but the kitchen was closed. The steak was served prison style from the hot box. Maybe I thought that 4yrs young meant new cutting edge amenities and services and that just wasn't the case."

"This was our first trip to Jamaica and our honeymoon. We had an absolutely amazing time! For average people like us, a fireman and a teacher, we were absolutley thrilled with our experience. The resort is beautiful! The grounds, beach, pool area, restaurants, and rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is constantly working hard to keep it that way. The rooms do get a little humid, but what do you expect being on an island surronded by water. Your room will get cleaned everyday, as long as you put the green door sign out. They do a really nice job cleaning and will leave you towel animals and mints. The staff was unbelievably friendly, such nice and helpful people. There is NO pressure to tip. Yes, they have signs everywhere saying tips are appreciated; we tipped becasue we wanted to. The people work so hard, how could you not want to tip them? The only thing we werent too thrilled about was the food. The Asian buffet, Italian cusine, and buffet were just ok. The steak house was good, but the best meal was the jerk chicken on the beach. We looked forward to it everyday, it was delicious! We used Jamaican Tours Unlimited for our snorkling, zip lining, and trips to and from the airport. They were very cautious drivers and gave us a lot of history on the island. The snorkiling was amazing and the CHUKKA ziplining tour was phenominal. I was scared to zip line, and they made my exprience a safe, relaxing, and fun one! We also went to Margaritaville once at night and once during the day to do the water activities. The food was great and the water actiivites were a blast! We used Collin taxi service and he was so friendly and told us about everyhthing we drove by. Also, we went in March and we did not see any 'SpringBreakers', there were many couples and families. Overall, we had an amazing experience. It was so relaxing, and a great place to go to for our honeymoon! We will defintley go back! They were wonderful, I highly reccomend staying there!"

"Here is my detailed review: RESORT I really liked the layout of this resort. It wasn't too spread out that I got tired of walking from our room to the main lobby etc. FOOD We aren't picky eaters so we were satisfied with the food. We loved the 'Jamaican' themed night at the buffet. One thing I will say is that immediately after checking in, you should make reservations at the a la carte restaurants if you want to eat there. They book up fast! DRINKS Some people said they found the drinks to be watered down. We did not, but I mean you can order as many as you want and you can tell the bartender to make it a 'double'. One thing I read and recommend is to bring your won container/cooler cup. My husband brought a huge 'bubba keg' and we didn't have to keep getting up from our lounge chair on the beach to get more drinks. STAFF Some reviews found the staff to be rude, we found the exact opposite! Everyone was friendly, efficient and helpful. ROOM Some reviews said that there were bugs and a musty smell. The rooms were spacious and the decor was nice. Some reviews said the mattress was too hard, I did not find this, but I preferm a firm mattress. One thing I liked was the umbrella that was in the closet. It rained one night and we definitely got use out of it. The only negative thing I have to say is that the tv/remote could be updated. There weren't too many channels and the remote didn't have numbers on it... But really...who stays in their room at an all-inclusive resort?! Perhaps upgraded rooms have better tvs? BEACH True there was more seaweed than a few of the other beaches that I've been to but it was very nice and relaxing. You MUST try the jerk chicken and sausage that they grill right on the beach in a hut! ACTIVITIES The staff definitely work hard to engage the guests in activities but they are not overbearing. They had water aerobics, games and different shows each night. They also had a live band. AIRPORT/PLANES I would guess maybe 5-10 plans fly overhead each day, but it didn't bother me. I would rather stay at a resort close to the airport than travel 2 hours to get to the resort. I didn't notice any planes after dark. Overall this is a great resor and we would DEFINITELY come back. Highly recommended!"

"Overall first experiene in Jamaica was excellant. This was a nice hotel. The staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff was the best. Nightly entertainment was great. Pool was great, beach was so so. Beings it's a man made beach, the sand only extendes about 10ft into the ocean. From there out, it was like swimming in a lake. bottom felt clayey under your feet. The Jerk Chicken at the shack on the beach was out of this world. The only negative was the website claimed unlimited domestic and international beverages. The only beer was Red Stripe and the liquor choices were very limited. Mostly local with the exception of Smiroff Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Dewar's Scotch and Kentucky Gentleman Bourbon. I was expecting to see more choices but we made due."

"So, my wife and I went for a week, and I have to say that it was simply exquisite. The whole resort was very nice, well landscaped, comfortable, and an overall awesome place for a vacation. I had never been to an all inclusive resort, and I really like the way it works. We were given wristbands for our stay, and everything was included. There were no hidden 'resort fees' and I was really never bothered much for anything. There is no limit on food, alcohol, or resort activities. Quite literally, you can have lunch, drink at the pool, have lunch again, go to the beach, get drunk and forget you had lunch, so that you can have lunch again. The entertainment was great, and I was never really bored. There were always things going on, water polo, volleyball, bingo, contests, etc. The nightly shows were top knotch, and I was never disappointed. Even the pre show activities (giveaways, contests, trivia challenges, etc) were a blast, and the staff was always fun. I loved how most of the staff members would literally climb a tree to get you a fresh coconut if you wanted one. Some other comments on this site may say that the beach is not the 'best in the world' but who cares, it was great, I never had a problem with it. As for negative, there always is a little bit, I have a few suggestions. For one, it was a very big resort, and I did not really care for walking all the way to the lobby to skype with my daughter back home on my laptop. Even the crappiest hotels have wireless internet in the rooms these days, surely they can do the same. Additionally the Food was definitely plentiful, and you never went hungry, however, most of it tasted the same, and it became kind of like eating at golden corral every day. I guess you just have to confirm your reservations a week prior. The problem is the international call to do it. The resort was amazing, and I was not disapointed. Honestly, no vacation is perfect, and I get sick of perfectionist reviews on this site. The place was well worth it."

"This was my first trip to Jamaica. Seven days was not enough time for me. beautiful clean hotel. I'll give the good first. I loved the layout of the pool. The jerk chicken on the beach was awesome!! The staff was always courteous and friendly. Please tip your bellman/porters. My bellman carried four heavy suitcases at once down three flights of stairs like it was nothing. I liked that it was all spreadout. I never felt overwhelmed by people. We arranged all our excursions through Jamaican Tours. We went on a Sunset Catamaran Cruise, Parasailing, climbed Dunn's River Falls, and the bamboo river raft was relaxing. All was great but our horseback riding got cancelled because no one else signed up and they needed eight people. The tour guides share a lot of history and knowledge of their island. I would have liked that Margaritaville be part of the sunset cruise. I didn't want to go back to the hotel. Bring a lot of dollar bills. You will tip tip tip. Although we tipped a 20 here and there. Now for the bad. Unfortunately Jamaicans don't know how to cook beef because they don't eat it. The rooms smelled musty all the time. My clothes still smell after washing them. I think mildew must have set in them. I went three nights without a pillow case on one of my pillows. I finally had to ask. There wasn't any fan in the bathroom. It took me a few days to figure out the light switches. The mattresses could have been better. The beds were very hard. You will enjoy this hotel and please don't lock your roommate on the balcony like what happened to me."

"Good value for the money. This was our 2nd time. The beach is short and the bottom of the ocean mucky, but we just walked as far as we could (knee deep) and then took the plunge into the water, which was a great temperature (not too cold, not too warm). I'd suggest not going in March, like we did our most recent visit, unless you like to party with drunken coeds on spring break. There's a lot of amenities which we took advantage of (beach volleyball, ping pong, sailing, kayaking, paddle boat). There's also an out of the way hot tub which most people don't seem to use. It's in the Spa--you need to go into the spa, into the restroom, and the hot tub is in a really relaxing room at the end that faces the pool. There is pressure to tip, so make sure you bring lots of ones beforehand. One cashier helped herself to my change ($2). Remember to head to the jerk chicken stand by the beach for lunch about noon to 2--this is the best food on the resort."

"We really enjoyed our stay. We travel frequently and found this resort to be in our top tier of facilities. We found the beach to be among the best we have ever experienced with lots of places for sun and shade with ample palm trees. We found the rooms very clean and we liked the in room bar which was replenished every other day. The food was average when compared to other resorts. Not bad but not excellent. The staff was very friendly and the entertainment at night very good. We would absolutly return to this hotel and would recommed it to others."

"Our trip to Montego Bay was great, right from getting through customs and the shuttle to and from the hotel. The rooms were great and very clean. There is noise from the planes flying over the resort but you get use to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach was a bit of a disappointment as you need water shoes due to the weedy bottom. If you want to snokel, you have to go out in a boat which costs $30.00 per person. It is definetly worth the $30.00. The taxis are very expensive compared to Mexico."

"We had a great trip. We stayed in a beachfront 1st floor room that was spacious and clean. It was nice to not have to worry about the steps. The food was great, especially on Mexican night. We are beach people so did not go to the pool but one time but appeared to be clean and fun. Lots of seating in the shade and sun. The beach was wonderful and warm each day We took the all day excursion to the Falls and Zip liining. A great experience was had by both of us. We would go back to this resort again!"

"The Riu was great! As this was our first stay at a Riu, we would definitely return there for future trips. The staff, food, entertainment, and accomadations were excellent! Was disapointed in the snorkling/Margaretaville excursion, though. The boat and staff were certainly not first class as all other encounters were. Infact, on our way back to shore, the captain actually ran into the smaller boat with two people in it! Luckily, no one was hurt. I am surprised that the Riu would have this type of excursion associated with their resort."

"An overall excellent experience for our first time to Jamacia and first time stay at Riu Montego Bay! Only significant disapointment was the snorkeling/Margaritaville trip on the Riu boat :( Could barely get the boat cranked and going. Additionally, the appearence of the boat was a big disapointment !! :( Not very well kept up. Although the snorkeling trip was fair, not a lot of confidence in the captain. He ran the boat into a smaller boat on our trip back in to shore and didn't seem responsive to what was going on! Additionally, Riu should be more observant of what goes on at the beach in the late afternoons....esp when the wave runners show up. Was a very enlightening experience for us! Riu is a classy place.....would encourage management to be in touch with the above information/opinions. Thank you for providing such a wonderful winter vacation!!"

"The hotel is good for the money. Doesn't look really appealingwhen you first drive up. Was a little disappointed at first, after staying at another resort in Jamaica last year which was fabulous! The buffet dining was really good. A lot of variety....something for everyone. Wasn't impressed with the Asian and Italian restaurants. The room was decent. They really need exhaust fans in the bathrooms especially with all the moisture. The nightly entertainment was good. The bamboo river raft excursion is nice and worth the money. The glowing water tour is a RIP OFF....DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Water was only 3-4 ft deep and there were no fish or anything glowing to see, but a lot of mudd instead!!"

"Perfect weather, plenty of beach and pool chairs, NEVER book a first floor rooml. The money conversion can be confusing when reading 'extra' menus, like massages. It doesn't tell you that the tip is ALREADY included, and where I come from it isn't, so I ended up tipping twice, and they don't THANK YOU? The soda was always flat at the bars, if you want a good one, get it in the bottle. There is NO room service, so if you bring food back to your room, there is no where to put the dishes when you are finished. You can't leave food or moisture from drinks on any of the counters, it attracts bugs. The room floors can be very 'sticky' from the moisture, so bring something for your feet, you won't want to walk barefoot, and most of all the phone service, whether using the internet or telephones is terrible. There is a lack of communication with the staff when you inquire about most things. I would recommend RIU as a great vacation for the inclusive deals, but don't think we will go back to Jamaica. It was better in the bahamas!"

"Staff: Very friendly, make you feel welcome and wanted in Jamaica! Beach: Small, can't walk long stretches of beach, but vendors don't bother you on beach. Crowds: Busy on Wednesday....did not like that the Rio allows people to use their facilities from the cruise ship for the day. Including food, drinks, beach, and pool. Makes things a lot more crowded. If the cruise people want to go to an all inclusive they should have. Riu should respect that for guests. Rooms: Large, clean, beds are hard :(, double sinks, nice balcony, full mini bar! Food: Good, great salad and veggie choices. Italian and Asian Rest. were our favorites. Steak house, not great...meat is fatty! Overall Ground, well kept, beautiful entry! Bars: Great service, at least one is open 24 hours of the day Pool: Get down early to save your chair, but large pools and clean. Pool games are also fun Available Excursions: Company's available in lobby area to help with this, very easy! Atmosphere: Kids are allowed, but were not a ton of them, and the resort did not focus the attention to be kid oriented which was nice, the kids have their own space available as well with the entertainment staff which is really nice! Plaes do fly overhead leaving Jamaica throughout the day, but we did not find it bothersome. Overall, loved it, would reccommend to anyone! We can't wait to go back!"

Large property and lots of people and children. Very clean - garden and grounds were maintained very well and rooms were comfortable. Great entertainment and overall a nice experience."

"Hotel was average. Beds are VERY uncomfortable, hard. Rooms had an odd odor. Doors were hard to unlock. Another couple with us had to get help to open on several occassions. Food was average with very little variety from day to day. Jerk Chicken shack on the beach was the best meal while there. There are limited types of drinks to chose from. Pool was nice, but cold. Nice perk not publicized was free use of kayaks, catamarans, and paddle boats. WIFI was only available in lobby and only receive 90 min free per day."

"The hotel is pretty basic. There's nothing extra special about it but there's nothing really wrong with it either. People have complained about the smell of mold but it's not that pervasive and it's pretty common in the Caribbean. The staff is definitely friendly here and went out of their way to accommodate us when we had a few special requests. The only time the service was sub par was eating in the Asian restaurant where the host was more interested in flirting than serving. Though I wasn't blown away by Riu Montego Bay I would definitely consider returning."

"Where do I even begin with this NIGHTMARE of a trip. This was our first and last trip to the Riu in Montego Bay. We actually cut our trip short because we were so disappointed and disgusted.
The staff was very matter of fact, rude and down right LAZY. They constantly looked for tips and if you didn't tip, they could care less to serve you. I'm sorry but we paid for an ALL INCLUSIVE which includes gratuity and if the service was EXTRAORDINARY, we would have been happy to tip.
The food was underwhelming at best, although I have to say the Jerk Chicken on the beach was awesome. All the buffets and restaurants had the same recycled food that was boring and tasteless. I didn't know hot-dogs were purple?!?
We stayed in a building which clearly is infested with cockroaches. When we complained to the hotel manager he looked at us like we were aliens until then he finally admitted that YES, they do have a problem due to dirty dishes not being put away. Come on!!! And whats with all the 'work' that is constantly being done at this resort. All you hear all day long is hammering , drilling and banging! The hallways are full of dust and dirt.
And yes, it is 2012, Wi-Fi is everywhere! We thought it was ridiculous for a so called 4 star resort to only have Wi-Fi n the lobby with a terrible signal.
And last but certainly not least, the disgusting man made beach full of rocks, ants, seaweed and moss. Gross!!! I would never remcommend this hotel or any Riu hotel for that matter to anyone. Stay away! If you want to go to Jamaica, stay somewhere else. We had a great experience there and it is a TRUE 5 star!"

"This hotel is the worst i have ever been to. The drinking glass were dirty, pool had feaces in it and the beach was murky. The food was awful and the staff were not helpful. One bartender told my friend he didn't like black people and yet he was very black we were treated like dirt and the white colour folks were given the attention. The chef's uniforms were very dirty and stainy the workers are very immature and untidy they seems not to know anything about customer service. They have no entertainment in the day and its just plain boring. They serve one type of wine which is bulk wine and its just plain aweful
I would never reccommend this hotel to any one. the health inspector needs to check it out."

"Don't be fooled by the positive reviews...Riu Montego Bay is HORRIBLE!!! 8/6/12-8/8/12 (i left early)
Rooms- The rooms are moldy, there are roaches in the rooms. A house keeper picked a dirty towel off of the ground, shook it off and folded it back over the rack. When i asked her what she was doing she made me aware of the fact that they like to conserve towels. The towels themselves are BROWN...not white so it's impossible to know if they are clean.
All inclusive food/bev- All of the inclusive alcohol is watered down, and well .The worst Jamaica has to offer. The food was cold and tastless..The carpet in the dining room made me want to vomit ... Not to mention the fact that I found a fly in my food! one of the supervisors ..informed my party of 27 people that the roaches are a problem that they do not deny having!!! My entire reunion party filed a total of 20 written complaints that no doubt ended up in the garbage, i'm sure. Listen to the negative reviews..I wish i did.. Im am also in the process of getting a partial refund...They opted to give me a free spa treatment and a credit to stay there again and i informed them that I WOULD NEVER COME BACK not even for free!!! Oh an the beach is man made and filled with seaweed !!! I will say one thing...from the outside it looks like paradise but don't be fooled. It is also only a few minutes away from the airport so there is constant air traffic which made relaxing on the beach impossible. I also had to bribe a bartender to get real alcohol.. 5 star this hotel is NOT!!!"

"Stated at Riu Montego Bay 7-4-12 thru 7/9/12. Food was cold and tasteless. Coffee was too strong. Wake up calls by the front desk were 10-15 minutes late daily. Beach water was not clean. Bath towels and washclothes were hard to come by, despite calling front desk (and the hotel was only at 80% capacity). Staff (other than entertainment staff) were not friendly and it seemed like a chore for them to help you (and that's their job). It was tough to get into a Specialty Restaurant, and the only real good one was the Steak House. Pool walk-up bar had an odor of dirty feet daily. Drinks were watered down. I recommend an Iberostar over this place."

"Hi. Just returned from Montego Bay. We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the beds weren't as hard as people say they are. There is a musty smell but it is to be expected in tropical weather. The food was great at this resort--especially the jerk chicken. The beach/ocean wasn't that great but nice enough. The pools were nice except for the swim up bar area. too many people cause the pool to go cloudy. the other pool was great. The staff for the most part were friendly and the entertainment team worked really hard and could be seen most of the dat chatting with guests. The resort itself was pretty and it was close to the airport which was really convienent. We enjoyed our stay overall."

"We were incredibly disappointed with this trip. While the pool was nice in size, our hotel room and the service was very poor. We were there for 5 days and 2 of those days we did not get our room made up. We asked the front desk multiple times to send somebody to clean the room and provide fresh towels and it was not done. We had to go to the front desk ourself to pick up new towels. The bed in the room was uncomfortable and had a spring sticking out of it which made sleeping difficult. The mini bar was supposed to be restocked every 2 days, however ours was not restocked until the 3rd day and we were out of water completely. Again, we had to go to the front desk to request water be sent to our room and only after the 2nd time did we actually receive it. Other things in the room that were poor included the bottle opener on the wall was broken and the tv remote did not work and we had to go request a new battery. I would absolutely not recommend this place to a friend."

"My room was clean however my brother and sister in laws toilet clogged 3 times building 5100. Guest staying in building 5 had to be moved due to the sewer order. Beach was not so nice ocean water dirty, slymie, large trench, seaweed. Just nothing good about the ocean. Oh and mucky. Food at Rose hall great and jerk chicken was well worth the wait. Specialty restaurants not worth the time it took getting reservations. I have stayed at 6 other hotel in the caribbean and this is the one most disappointed in. Especially because of the name. All the hotels I stayed in prior are in the same class and have been happy with all. I did read the reviews before going and didn't, believe what I read again because of the name, but was surprised to find the negative reviews were accurate."

"We stayed 10 days at the Riu and it was the best trip I have ever taken. The staff was excellent, pleasant, friendly and professional, always smilling. The food was next to wow! Everything was good! The shows were super, Micheal Jackson, carribean steel drum band, acrobatics that were amazing. The bar staff were very fast at service and the drinks..you have to try a chocolate monkey or a dirty banana. I think I gained a pound a day. The fishing was excellent, caught my first marlin, 6 foot 3 inches! Book It made things easy for us and were very professional and friendly. Highly recommend this to anyone. This was not our first trip to the Carribean but the absolute best yet."

"We are loyal to RIU, and this location of course kept true to the RIU brand. We chose the Mo Bay location because we had decided to rent a car and drive to Negril and Ocho Rios, Mo Bay was central. Gorgeous waters at the hotel, but the bottom is mucky with plants. The beach is short and you can't walk beyond the Sandals Hotel next door or the other way as there is a barbed wire fence. We knew this though, reading other reviews beforehand. If you're going to Jamaica for beaches, stay at RIU Negril. If you are going for mountain excursions, stay in RIU Ocho Rios. RIU Montego Bay was ideally located for seeing all three cities on our agenda. GREAT, friendly staff, delicious foods, good entertainment... really no complaints other than a slightly disappointing shore."

"The resort was BEAUTIFUL, the staff were all GREAT! The only issue I had was with 'tipping'.
My husband and I only had one suitcase a piece so we did not need any assistance taking our luggage to our room. The guy INSISTED that he take our luggage to our room. After he delivered it he ASKED for a tip. We only had one towel in our room upon arrival so my husband called the front desk to ask for another one. When the gentleman arrived with the towel he ASKED for a tip. Now, we don't mind tipping but please sir, allow us to OFFER! and then don't get a NASTY attitude when we choose not too! We tipped our bartenders and the persons that were responsible for transporting us on the shuttle because that was our choice.
Our advice: take a pocket full of one and five dollar bills."

"I always stay at RIU if there is one available. Great stay as usual but our mini fridge was never restocked and we were promised it would be restocked every 2 days. We wound up calling the front desk and were promised it would happen but it never did. I still would stay at this faciltiy but they really need to work on this part of their customer service."

"This was my first time to do an all-inclusive. The rate here is one of the best in Jamaica. I am giving my honest assessment per my expectations. I am an easy person to please and don't expect to be pampered high society like. I'm just an average Joe. We booked through bookit.com. I had to change 3 times so the first time I booked it was $109 a night per person, about 2 weeks before departure. No discount for my 7 year old. The second time I booked it was $79 dollars a night. The third time I had to make a change bookit didn't have any rooms for sale. I called RIU resorts direct and got a $90 a night per person rate. Rates fluxuate constantly evidently. Arriving in Montego Bay after customs the bookit counter was in the far back....counter no. 21. Showing our travel voucher they directed us to the bus in the parking lot. A guy helped with my bag. After which he said, 'If you want to tip me it's ok.' He wasn't pushy, just not proper etiquette. I didn't have any change at the time and told him that I was sorry, I didn't have any change. We had to wait about 20 minutes until the driver got word from dispatch. The RIU Montego is about 5 minutes from the airport. It was the first stop. The driver proceeded to 2 other hotels.
These resorts are tourist 'factories'. Check in may take a few minutes depending on how many buses come in at once. Rooms are available at 3pm. We arrived at 4 pm a little too late to reserve the Italian, Asian or Steak Restaurants. (will comment on that later)
Upon arrival the front desk staff distributes free Jamaican punches as you wait. A shot of Jamaican Rum was added upon request.
Check in was relatively quick. You will receive cards for your pool towels and a do not remove bracelet will be placed on your wrist. (sorta like Disneyland. This is what gives you access to free restaurants and facility use) I'm told this was not necessary at some of the higher end resorts...Beaches, Sandals, etc.
Room was about a 3 minute walk to the lobby. These places are huge and I was informed that RIU is actually one of the smaller ones. We stayed in a garden view room. The building had 3 floors and no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor. I believe the ocean view rooms had elevators. Bellman will carry your bags and will insist it is their job. I only had a golf bag so rolled it to the building and carried it up 3 flights of stairs myself. So if you have lots of heavy bags, avail the bell service. Room was very clean. Slight musty smell upon arrival. This is common in any tropical climate. Just leave the air on. 2 twin beds are put together to make a king. I guess there are no king beds in this facility. Even the hotel manager voiced his complaint with me about that. lol Pillow are, well, hotel pillows. I found these to be some of the flattest I've ever use though. Hotel manager is from Dominican Republic. You can often find him in the lobby or just ask desk. He is more than glad to help.
The safe is a good size. It fit our 15 inch Mac book, another notebook, Camera, and addtional big lens, passports, wallets etc. Just enter your 4 digit code and press # and it locks. The code will display a couple seconds so u can see it. Just enter the code to open the safe.
You will have to haul a key around or leave it at the desk. The door knob is in the center of the door (weird) but it's just a handle you don't have to turn it. To open the door just turn the key a quarter turn away from the look. To lock the dead bolt it has to be turned a full 2 1/2 turns, seems like forever, to dead bolt the door. Can be a little hassle. The door does lock automatically without the dead bolt, again 1/4 turn only.
Plenty of cable channels. If you have kids be careful of channel 5. Has soft porn on at night. Don't know why this is necessary at a resort like this.
Rooms have small alcohol bar with 4 bottles upside down. Tap serve. Fridge has sodas and beer all of which are restocked every day.
You are given a towel card for each person for a pool towel, available poolside. If you loose a towel card they will charge you $20. So, don't let you small kids be responsible for these by any means. (a slight inconvenience.)
Restaurants: All are buffet style except for the steak. The Asian, Steak, and Italian need to be reserved before 4pm. I found it actually needs to be done earlier or reservations will fill up. The standard Rose Hall buffet is by far the best with the most options. We didn't have reservations for the steak restaurant which starts at 7pm but were able to get seated no problem. Just see the manager about 7:15 and if there are seats he will get you in. This can be done at the Asian and Italian restaurants as well. We walked through and looked at those two buffets. Just didn't compare to the Rose Hall buffet. We did this two nights in a row no problem. We found the steak to be very flavorful. Just make sure they cook it to your liking. Lady next to us ordered a medium well and it was still mooing. There are only three options, rib-eye, sirloin, (come with potato and a veggie, there is a salad bar.) and seafood kabob (shrimp and talapia...wasn't that great) If you are really hungry, I recommend eating some at Rose Hall first, I think they open at 6:30. We waited a looong time each night for our steak. 30 minutes at least. Not a top of the line steak but not low budget either. We felt it was as good as our Outback steak back home. We were very happy with the flavor and texture.
Breakfast and dinner can be had at the Rose Hall buffet. Breakfast had fried eggs, poached eggs, made to order cheese omelettes, bacon (not every day) juices, etc.
Lunch is at the steak restaurant area near the pool. Pizza, fries (these were pretty good fries, had to go back for seconds) chicken, some Jamaican dishes, salad bar, fountain drinks, etc. Jerk chicken is roasted a few feet away on the beach. (a good roast chicken) Have to try it.
Dinner: Rose Hall buffet has the best offerings. More people attend that one. Plenty of options. Not high end but not low budget.
Between meal snacks: This definitely could have been better. Tuna sandwiches and nacho chips and cheese are available in the sports bar. I was expecting more like buffalo wings to order or other snacks especially late at night. I guess since the buffet times are so close to each other this is not a major thing to consider. Burger King is right outside the door of the lobby. But who wants to pay right?
Beach:Not to big, nice sand. Swimming area does have some seaweed and muck in some areas. Paddle boats, catamarans, and kayaks are available. You have to walk over to the dive shack and sign a waver for each user before availing these.
Miscellaneous info:
Planes fly straight over the resort but didn't hear them at night. Might depend on your room location.
If you need to buy diapers the gift shop only sells small. Also, Blue Mountain Coffee is $44 lb. in the gift shop. Across the highway across from Burger King is the Whittey Plaza I believe. 3 minute walk. Just be careful crossing the street. There is a grocery store there and we were able to get diapers and Blue Mountain coffee for half price.
RIU is one of the few tipping resorts. Tip the bellman, tip the hotel driver if you like. Tip the bartender if u wish. Beaches and Sandals do not allow tipping whatsoever from what I understand.
Just ask groundskeepers for a coconut if you like and they will cut one down for you.
Golf: I golfed Cinnamon Hill. Called the course direct. $119 with transport. A hotel drive will take you. White Witch is about $149 a round. Hotel driver said that if you tell them you paid 'this much' at Cinnamon Hill yesterday they might give you the same rate...competition. Iron Shore is right across the street from RIU next to the shopping center. I'm told that is quite reasonable. Around $50.
OVERALL: A pleasant experience. Very affordable. Food was average or above average. Many options at the Rose Hall buffet. Wish there were better late night snacks. I definitely would stay here again.

"The staff was eager to please and very friendly. The shows were GREAT and the resort grounds were well kept. However, the rooms were not in the best condition. Our first room's view backed up to a retaining wall in the furthest building. We were moved to another room that was conveniently located with a nicer view. The 'new' room had roaches and another guest said their room had mold. The food was average at best. Big thumbs up for the fresh juice bar at breakfast."

"My husband and I visited the resort for our honeymoon in November 2011 and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and the daily shows were amazing. I would only suggest if you've been on a diet and looking forward to eating dessert, don't. The only restaurant that had good dessert was the Italian restaurant. The restaurant food was really good as well. Overall we had a wonderful time. The staff was also good when we wanted to visit places outside of the resort. I highly recommend the Margaritaville cruise and visiting the Dunn's Falls. If I can climb the falls anybody can...trust me (smile)"

"I stayed at the RIU in Ocho Rios in June and loved it, but this property was an altogether different experience. First and foremost, they had roaches....lots of them. I asked and was given a different room...no surprise...the new room had roaches as well. The food was just ok at best. We weren't hungry, but we were never satisified. In addition, the staff wasn't nearly as friendly. I definately would not recommend this hotel."

"The resort was beautiful!!! Really pretty lay out and seemed like a post card. The rooms were nice and spacious and having the view to overlook the ocean is just breathtaking from the moment you wake up to sunset. The food wasnt anything to rave about. It was tough to find something that tasted decent. However that being said, the jerk chicken on the beach was excellent as well as the jamacian beef patties. Everything else was blah! The resort had great options to keep there guests busy- from the entertainment at night at the resort, to the excursion options which we did, to the beautiful spa, and obvioulsy the pool and beach- just great! The staff were very pleasant to deal with as well."

"The Riu was super clean. The room was very nice, especially with the veranda.
The staff was very friendly and helpful with the exception of a minor issue with the front desk.
The beach was okay.
The grounds were well taken care of.
The food was average at best.
The Italian Restaurant was much better than the Steak Restaurant.
Did not try the Asian since we were limited to two restaurants because we were only there 4 nights.
The bartenders work hard and are willing to accommodate any requests but there were no top shelf liquors and the only beers were Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light."

"We stayed at the Riu from 9/13 to 9/19/2011. The Riu (pronounced RIO) Montego Bay is an excellent hotel with very friendly staff. Hotel and surroundings are beautiful and the Riu provides entertainment every evening and during the day by the pool. Beach is clean and water is fantastic. There are many water activities/sports you can engage in from scuba diving and snorkeling to sailing. Any of these activities you must pay for and are NOT part of the all inclusive plan. Even though we were on an all inclusive vacation I would suggest you bring at least $50 one dollar bills for tips. Our bus driver took us from the airport to our hotel (a very short trip) and before I could reach into my pocket to get his tip he is announcing 'tips' 'tips' 'tips'. Also, tipping the bartenders gets you special treatment. I was waiting behind three people who wanted drinks and were trying to get the bartenders attention when the bartender saw me in the back and immediately asked me what I wanted to the chagrin of the folks in front of me, why, because I had tipped the bartender earlier in the evening. (For the record I pointed to the people in front of me to serve first). Jamaicans and the hotel employees don't make a lot of money so anything is appreciated. DO NOT GO TO THE CRAFT MARKETS in town. Unless you're used to high pressure tactics and enjoy saying NO, I would recommend against going. The people are poor and EACH and every craft shop owner wants you in their shack to show their wares and get you to buy something...anything. (BTW, I was told by another Jamaican that most of the goods they are selling are made in China and Pakistan). The hotel allows a limited number of vendors each evening to bring their wares onto the hotel grounds for selling to the hotel guests. Literally, across the street from the Riu, Montego Bay is a brand new mall, just like you're used to here stateside that has the same crafts at better, more reasonable prices to include cost of liquor with no high pressure to buy. Buy your liquor here at this mall to bring back to the States. Remember, you must put this liquor in your checked baggage. I would save plastic bags to wrap the bottles in to protect your clothing should the bottle break, as the baggage handlers don't care what you have in your baggage. I had a bottle break and most of my clothes were protected but not all. All in all a very nice enjoyable vacation until the very end in Orlando, Fla. when the TSA took my alcohol from my inspected/ checked luggage for no reason. I have filed a claim and am awaiting an explanation. I figured the TSA were getting ready for their Christmas/Holiday party. I hope this helps any traveler who plans on going to Montego Bay and specifically to the Riu, Montego Bay. "

"We had a wonderful time during our stay at Riu Montego Bay. The staff are so happy all the time and willing to help you with anything. The buffet had a wide variety of items for all meals. Reservations for the restaurants were easy to come by. The pool is amazing and very clean. The pool offers a swim up bar which is very nice for the long, hot Jamaica days. The beach was amazing! Water so clear, relaxing, clean! The free watersports were great as well as the jerk chicken meal offered on the beach. All the drinks were great, no slacking on the alcohol. I only have two complaints...the sports bar is very, very hot after 9pm, and our stay wasn't long enough! "

"We really enjoyed our stay at Riu Montego Bay. Beautiful resort, great pools, enjoyable nightly entertainment, sports bar to game and shoot pool, great food. Of the three 'reservation only' (but still all-inclusive - free) restaurants we really loved the steak house. The asian one was the only disappointment. It was a bit too exotic for our tastes. But we simply left and went to the Rose Hall buffet for dinner, no hardship there. Most of the staff overall went out of their way to be friendly and management was very attentive. We ran out of bottled water and one manager noticed my husband bringing glasses of ice water to our room. He seemed very upset by this and within 5 minutes he arrived bearing an armload of water to restock us. The open bar in the room was awesome. Any problem we called in they responded and gave us a call back to verify that the matter had been resolved to our satisfaction. We even asked to change rooms because we have ocean front and were given a ground level room. The view was not impressive and we asked to be higher up. Not a problem they saud and we were accomodated within 30 minutes. Love the concept of this hotel chain. I may never cruise again. This is better!"

"My husband & I stayed at the Riu Montego Bay Jamaica from 9/1/11 to 9/8/11. We originally planned to go for a friend's wedding but also used it as our honeymoon. The staff was amazing! They were extremely friendly & helpful. Our room was always clean. We had a new towel 'animal' on our bed every day. The food was wonderful. We had dinner once at Little Italy & it was the best meal ever. The buffet was also very good and had a variety of foods. The only 'complaint' I have is I wish there had been internet service in the room instead of only in the lobby. But that isn't keeping us from booking another trip. We're already looking into making this an annual family vacation."

They went above and beyond to make sure that you was having a great time (Thank You ALL). We had a garden view room, which was a beautiful scenery, and was very well maintained- nice and clean at all times. The outside/property maintanence was well kept up... If you are planning on a get away, pure relaxation, good times, and a slice of pure heaven..... RIU is the place to go, book here at this hotel and you will not regret it!"
