We stayed four nights at this exquisite hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient. Recommend booking a canal view room if you can. Breakfast was wonderful too. Location, an easy walk to rialto bridge is ideal yet quiet and secluded--unusual in Venice!

It was just a day stay in venice and I can't expect anything better than this. The hotel is right inside the crowded Venice, well connected with water taxi and ferries. You will feel the Venice and the life of glorious venetians on your walk in and around the hotel. My room 215 was classical venetian luxury with colours , crafts and their handmade glass chandelier - no doubt it was an artists residence. The dining area was just amazing with the view of very much active canal and those faded fa... Read more

To arrive at this beautiful Hotel by private water taxi is quite something to experience. It is a typical Venetian water side building with lots of original features and its own landing stage where you can experience the Grand Canal with its beautiful views at its best. This was a birthday surprise for me and I didn't know I was going to Italy, let alone Venice, until I got to the airport. The original features, the wonderful chandeliers of Murano glass and the Hotel's artistic history,( apparen... Read more

Our room faced the canal on the 3rd floor. It was spacious and clean. The free breakfast was nice, pastries, eggs, meats, cheeses, juices, etc. We enjoyed sitting outside the hotel on the pier as well. We were across from Ca' de Oro. about a 5 min walk from the Rialto Mercado stop or the St. Stae, but you have less bridges to cross if you go the Rialto way. As for service, a little lower. The front desk staff is also the bartender and was often busy on the phone or couldn't answer our que... Read more

We arrived at this hotel by water taxi from the station, the reception staff were very friendly and the porter carried our cases up the two flights of stairs as there is no lift. We had requested a canal view room, we had a view of a canal but not the Grand Canal. Our room was extremely small and basically furnished but as we didn't spend much time in it, it didn't really matter, although having returned home and seeing other people's reviews we do feel that we had the worst room in the hotel.... We arrived by shared water taxi, which was terrific, as the hotel has a mooring, so it's literally door to door service! The entrance is gorgeous, I really wanted to bring home the Murano chandeliers and mirrors! The guys on reception were al;ways very helpful and friendly. It definitely came across that they wanted us to enjoy our 4 night stay. Our room was on the second floor, 220, and had a side canal view, and if you lean out you can see the Grand Canal. We landed at Venice airport and within 1 hour we we at San stae dock, it did take us 15 minutes to find our hotel as directions were a bit vague, but when we hit there boy was it worthy it. Lovely old traditional hotel with lots of character. Right on the Grand Canal and really easy to find. Worth taking a water taxi on arrival. Try and book a room overlooking the canal. It it facinating to look out on all the canal action. Really conveniently placed close to Rialto and with two vaporetto stops within easy reach. Would definately stay here again.

Authentic is definitely a word that spring to mind about this quaint hotel in the Grand Canal. You can truly tell that the staff and management care about keeping the Venetian heritage alive in the place. My room was spacious, clean and well-dressed. Overlooking the grand canal, it was a sight to behold. The location was excellent. I was so lucky to be upgraded from a single to a room with a view for my first night! What you dream of staying in Venice is exactly what you get!! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is held in a beautiful room over looking the Grand Canal and very generous!! On my second night I was placed back to my original booking for a single room which was extremely small, despite that the location and hospitality is still worth staying there!!

You simply e-mail the hotel for the special secret code and they will respond very promptly. The hotel is only a shortish walk from Piazza San Marco, Rialto Bridge, etc, & is directly on the Grand Canal. We arrived at the hotel after a long day of travelling and sightseeing around Tuscany so it was good to have detailed directions to the hotel to hand when trying to find it from the station. If coming from the main station we recommend the number 1 water bus and then the five minute walk as long as you are comfortable with your luggage as there are a few bridges with stairs to cross. Venice's canals and quaint buildings give it real character - and this hotel fits right in. The waterfront facade overlooking the grand canal is almost iconic.
