The pros: Overall hotel was pretty nice, staff was helpful, location wasn't right in the thick of things, but very close to all sights The cons: We were placed in a room that appeared to be the second half of a full suite. Our bed was a murphy bed (folded out of the wall), and the bathroom had the most oddly placed bidet, which resulted in having to lean over it to brush your teeth or use the sink. I'm not sure if this was due to us booking through a discount site, or if you always run the risk... Read more

Me and my partner were travelling to Venice in February. As soon we arrived to Marco Polo International Airport, we collected our belongings and headed for transportation to the hotel. A journey from the airport to the hotel took an hour more or less in a small vaporetto. We stopped at Giglio, from there just 5 minutes and reached the hotel. Location: very convenient and easy to find just 15 minutes to St Mark square. The Hotel: Nice dated building all refurbished, lift available The rooms: we... Read more

Very close to St Mary's Square and Giglio vaporetti stop on the Grand Canal. Walking distance to Rialto Bridge. Room was quirky - wardrobe looked like confessional!. Excellent spread at breakfast - typical continental - croissants, rolls, cereals, cakes, cheese, ham, yoghurts, fruit. Enough to keep you going til evening. As mentioned breakfast room is small but bar is used for overflow.

A lovely hotel set just off one of the main central areas of Venice. Room was beautiful and breakfast magnificent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only a 30 min walk from both rail and bus stations so very accessible!

The hotel is located nicely between St. Marks Square and the Accademia Bridge. It's easily accessible via a water taxi on the Grand Canal so you don't have to drag your bags all over Venice, which was really important to us. The rooms were small but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Super quiet, as well......

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location, it is within easy walking distance to all the areas. Its staff were really helpful and it was spotlessly clean. It was also in a very quiet little street just 50 yards from the grand canal. Great value.

We recently stayed at hotel dei dragomanni for 10 days. Our original room was good but the bathroom was crazy small. I came to that conclusion on our first morning when I was sitting on the closed toilet with my makeup in the (unused) bidet trying to put my makeup on in a tiny mirror. We were lucky enough that the hotel was not full and we moved rooms to the 4th floor. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been nicer from the front desk (day and night) to lovely ladies at breakfast, everyone was... Read more

I booked this hotel for a treat for my wife's birthday and we had a great time. It is located around 5-10 minutes walk from St Marks square but is conveniently down a quiet alleyway with no real people traffic than other hotel guests. As a result a good nights sleep is guaranteed! We booked a deluxe room and it was to expectations with a large bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast is continental but with a large selection including meats, cheeses, cereals, fruits, breads etc. the hotel staff were all ... Read more

We've stayed here before and quite liked the location so we were a bit disappointed this time. Mainly the very awkward location of the bidet in the already very small and compact bathroom was the problem. The bidet sat right in front of the sink, had to manoeuver every time you used the bathroom. Room has high ceilings, large french windows, not enough space in closet/luggage area to open up one suitcase let alone two. Space is always a limiting factor for the rooms, there must be a better design... Read more

wonderful hotel with very spacious rooms and bathrooms. The location could have not been better,The water taxi drops you about 50 ft from the hotel front lobby, and its about 10 minutes walk from the city center and the church. But above all is the staff of this hotel who could have not been more respectful ,accommodating, and helpful. I would like to mention the lady at the front desk named Samoa, she is a wonderful and most helpful to the hotel guests.

We arrived by private water taxi so it was only 20 yards or so to walk to the hotel. It is a small, friendly hotel. The room we had, number 23, had all the amenities we required for our 3 night stay in May.It was decorated nicely and very clean. A double bed, bath with shower attached and a separate shower cubicle.Mini bar, safe, wifi, television and adequate space for clothes and accessories. Ideally located, a short walk from St Mark's Square, this quaint and typically Italian little hotel is just right for using as a base from which to explore the delights of the local area. In some respects a little redecoration wouldn't hurt but that may take away from the overall feel of the place. Basic amenities available upon request but its Venice..you aren't going to spending much time in the hotel. Definitely recommend a room with a Grand Canal view. Located 4 bridges from St Marcs Square and very close to Academia Bridge, this small friendly hotel was great for our short family break to Venice. We had a family suite on the uppermost floor which was clean and spacious. Breakfast was a light continental and the coffee was excellent! There was a spectacular view of the Grand Central Canal from the end of the street.

Lovely little hotel, located perfectly to make the most of exploring Venice. Like previous reviews mention you can get to st marks square and other attractions with a leisurely 10 minute walk and there are many bars, restaurants and shops close by too. We stayed in room 9 which had everything we needed along with a little view of the grand canal although if you walk 5 steps out of the hotel you are on the canal with beautiful views. There are good things to say about this hotel but a recent experience changed my entire view of Hotel Dei Dragomanni. I'm a photographer. Having a clean place to rest, convenient, safe, well priced. its all important. And I thought I'd found it at Hotel Dei Dragomanni. I gave myself time after returning home before writing this review, just to make sure I wasn't being unreasonable. My issue concerns hotel staff. I stayed here on my trip, traveling solo, for 3 nights. I was surprised of how safe and welcome I felt! Extremely nice staf and they were also very very helpful. Glad to come home to this place every evening after a day of exploring the city. Easy to find and located in a little quiet alley next to the San Maurizio square. Just the perfect stay. Nice room, good breakfast and just all in all a wonderful stay. Definitely going back!

Enjoyed my stay here. Reception incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast really amazing. Centrally located. Well appointed rooms and furnishings. Just make sure when navigating to use the hotel on Google Maps and not the dropped pin, as the actual location of the hotel is quite a distance (and a few bridges) from the search result.

I loved everything about this hotel from the location to the free breakfast to the staff and cleanliness of the room. It was a three minute walk from the water taxi stop and was tucked down a cute Street off of quiet Piazza that had the best gelato. Nice to be in a quiet corner of San Marco. For the value I could not find any reason why I would stay anywhere else when visiting this awesome city. 10 minute walk from St Marks Square. It was just the best and seconds from the grand canal!! Just stayed there 3 nights and was very disappointed. While breakfast is nice, and location is good the rooms are small, not very comfort, and with very tiny place for hangers and/or drawers. In the shower of room 22 - in which I stayed - there is no place to put a soap or a shampoo, unless you put them on the floor. Venice hotels are expensive but this one is very pricy. hardly A 3 star hotel.

The hotel is a short walk from St Marks Sq so a great jumping off point for many of the key sites in Venice. Breakfast was included and was a lovely selection of breads, croissants, hams, cheeses, fruit, tea and coffee etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Nicely decorated, well kept rooms. Only downside was no tea and coffee facilities in the room. We would definitely recommend this as your base for a perfect Venetian trip.

We just stayed in this hotel for a week. We had a family room under the roof. The service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast in the dining room was plentiful. The room was a little warm even though it was October and we got bitten by mosquitos when we left the window open. This hotel is the epitome of Venice - charming, quirky and wonderful. We were in room 26, which surprisingly came with a patio overlooking the Grand Canal - a great way to spend a late evening with a bottle of wine. Be prepared for Venice - don't pack a ton and I'd rethink even a wheeled suitcase. Booked a 3 night stay in a classic room but were given a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room (20) which had a view of the Grand Canal - room & bathroom both good size, tasteful decor & spotless. We've just returned from our second stay at this hotel. We chose this one again as it's such a good location, within 5 minutes walk of St. Mark's square and also the nearest vaporetti stops. We had a deluxe room this time, which was very clean and spacious. Our only word of warning would be to request a lower floor room, as our friends were on the top floor and their room was stiflingly hot, even in late November, meaning they had to ask to be moved. My room was spacious for a European boutique hotel as I booked a single but was put in a double. Bed was comfortable. Great TV with plenty of US UK news channels. It is noisy as you can hear people come through loudly if they speak in the hall while you are sleeping. The hotel bar is run by whoever is working the front desk so not a lot of people hanging out.Great location close to San Marco.
