I'll start by saying it's not average and not exceptional hence the "very good" rating. You get what you pay for so don't expect a 5 star experience ( getting a little annoyed with other reviewers and their high expectations at a low cost!!) I paid for 4 nights inc breakfast for what a 2 night stay in London would cost so good value in my opinion. Breakfast was continental so the usual ham/cheese/toast/pastries etc. Coffees, teas and juices are all available. I like to eat so was happy about t... Read more

This was my fifth travel to Lido di Venezia and I always test a new hotel. The Lido itself is 15 to 20 minutes away by boat from the Venice city center. An easy and beautiful boat ride and I would always recommend to stay on the Lido as the evenings are lively and animated in summer as it has to be in an Italian beach resort. The boat jetty is only 10 minutes walking away, which is nothing. Be prepared to walk a lot when you visit Venice. The beach is long and only 5 minutes away from Byron and ... Read more

Very spacious clean room, nicely decorated, just a few minutes walk to the beaches. And even to the boats it's not far away. Main road with lots of restaurants is at the end of the street. The staff is extremely helpful and service oriented. Nothing is too much. Reception desk staff speaks fluent English and goes out of their way to accommodate. I arrived way too early from the night train with two young kids and instead of letting me wait till the room was available another room was prepared s... Read more

Recently spent a few days at the Byron. Good, classic Venetian lido hotel. For some dated, but it really is a nice hotel and the staff were excellent. Good position between beach and vaparetto (for trips back into Venice itself). Some good bars and restaurants nearby. Much quieter at the Lido in the summer. One point, I do think that WiFi should now be available for free in any good hotel. The Byron mentions a bar but it was not open during our stay, a disappointment as the gardens are lovely an... Although the hotel is a little dated the staff are very good. The accomodation is of good size but not huge. Ensuites are adequate. The hotel is only a few minutes from an excellent restaurant and a further couple of minutes from the town. Breakfasts were good and the staff very helpful.

We stayed here for 1 night and it's a lovely homely hotel, beautiful rooms and a lovely courtyard. Good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. It's in a very quiet area but still close to the centre of town. No bar which is unusual for a hotel. Lido is a lovely quite island in the lagoons around Venice with a nice beach.

The Byron was nice and recommended. A great location 5 mins off the main Gran Viale and 2 mins from the beach. Staff were helpful and friendly Our room wasn't like the ones featured in the publicity shots but was adequate and clean. Downside was there were only small windows allowing poor natural light. Breakfast was included which was adequate too without being extensive A great place to stay to combine a beach holiday with Venice sightseeing

Loud, uninviting, scorching hot (inside!), compleletly void of any sense of good hospitality, a little run down, reached it's peak a while ago... the window wouldn't close, the water at breakfast smelled like fish, the coffee came out of a machine, the noise from in- and outside the building drove us as crazy as the unbearable heat in the bedroom, where the bed was too short, anyway. The location is good and the staff was friendly without exception, but that couldnt help the fact that we just ... Read more
