I had a room with double beds which is very hard to find in Venice. The location was in walking distant to shopping, restaurants and all the sights. There was a variety of items served for breakfast. Beautiful small hotel 5 mins walk from St Marks Square or The Rialto Bridge but in a quiet courtyard. Staff are all super friendly and helpful, especially the ladies on reception. Lovely selection of tasty treats for breakfast, room was a little small but modernly equiped with a touch of elegance. It's not easy to find as access is through a small archway, but watch the video on YouTube and you will be OK. Could not have been better, you will love it!!!!!!

We visited this hotel for a long weekend, it is tucked away in a pretty little court yard & is ideally situated with just a short walk to St Marks in one direction and the Grand Canal in the other. The hotel and the rooms were pristine, the hotel staff were all fantastic and couldn't be more accommodating with extra pillows & special gluten free breakfast items for me. Perfect location a few blocks from San Marco Square in a hidden romantic patio that makes you go to the past the moment you step into it. Will be back - absolutely!

Al Codega is a small boutique family run hotel in a quiet courtyard in central Venice, five minutes from St Marks square and the Rialto Bridge. Excellent service and clean, smart and comfortable rooms. Easy to get to from the airport by water bus (â?¬15 pp) which drops you 3mins from the hotel with no bridges to drag suitcases over. Highly recommended.

Loved everything about the place, except for the hard to find location. Well work the brief hunt. The breakfast was so beautifully presented-the best of the five places we stayed while in Italy. I would go back in a heartbeat.

We spent four nights at the Hotel Al Codega. This was not our first time in Venice so we have a point of comparison. The location was excellent allowing easy access to both San Marco and Rialto boat piers. It made getting around without getting lost easy. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the staff is charming and helpful, and the breakfast was fresh with a broad selection. The best vote of confidence that we can give is that we will stay here again the next time we come to Venice. Tips.... Read more

We stayed two nights at Hotel Al Codega earlier this week and found it to be a wonderful hotel in Venice! I'm not sure why so many people on here mentioned difficulty finding the hotel. We followed the map included with our reservation confirmation email and walked straight to it from the Rialto stop in about five minutes. Maybe without the map it would have been a bit of a problem, but I'm sure that's why they include directions and a map in the email. The room was very clean and comfortabl... Read more

We read so many good reviews about this Hotel, so were surprised when it disappointed us so much. We came here after visiting Verona, where we stayed at the Hotel Accademia, both 4 star hotels but just worlds apart in reality. We had a Junior Suite, located on the 4th floor, the room was an OK size, small for a suite but taking into account it's Venice not so bad. The bathroom, however, was like a box, about 6 foot square and if you think there was a bath, basin, bidet and toilet, it gives an id... Read more

A very nice boutique hotel to stay. Excellent location, & despite being told, everyone gets lost in Venice , we found this hotel easy to find. plus there were no bridges to cross from the water taxi, which is a bonus when pulling cases. The rooms were very good , the staff very attentive & helpful, Breakfast was terrific with a huge range of fare. we caught a private taxi from the airport which was fine, but the large public waterbus to the station was 7Euro & much more economical & was only a t... We stayed in Al Codega as part of a Rick Steves tour of Venice. Although a little difficult to find at first, the effort was well worth it. The facilities were well appointed, breakfast selection was ample, and the staff was very helpful. Of the three hotels we stayed at with out tour of Italy, Al Codega was our favorite.

We chose this hotel through other TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. It was a bit hard to find from where the water taxi dropped us off at the Rialto Bridge, but it still was only a short walk. As others have ponted out, the breakfast is outstanding. About half the rooms face a courtyard, while the others face outside. We were in a 4th floor room, facing outside and the room was very quiet at night with the windows closed. The location is midway between St. Mark's and Rialto,... Read more

Staff was great for the stay and the breakfast was outstanding with lots of choices and all very high quality. The room was also very nice and well appointed too. It's pretty hard to find (like everything in Venice), but it's in a private courtyard that is not noisy at all. One put off was the weeds in the courtyard, kind of makes you think what other maintenance isn't being performed...

This hotel was about a 5 minute walk to St. Marks square and the Rialto Bridge, but not in a busy loud area, it was in a quiet courtyard. The hotel was a little hard to find the first time. But a little while it was easy to locate. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were Excellent.

So the Hotel Al Codega was the fourth of five hotels we stayed in during our two weeks in Italy, and it was definitely almost my most favorite of the major city hotels. As previous reviewers noted, it is tricky to find (which is rough in Venice because you are dragging your luggage with you) and even the gal in the Gelato stand in the next block did not know it was there. They are truly tucked into a courtyard; you have to find the passageway to the courtyard (actually I would suggest looking fo... Read more

We found the rooms to be quite spacious, the marble bathroom was lovely. The bar area is a lovely calming space to have a drink after a long day sight seeing. We very much enjoyed our stay at Al Codega. The hotel is in a very convenient location to many sites and yet feels private and isolated in a little enclosed courtyard. Rooms are nice sized and decor is attractive. Bathrooms are cramped but well appointed. Bed is comfortable by Italian standards. Oddly, the hotel requires you to leave the key with them whenever venturing out of the hotel. This was only a minor inconvenience. Overall, would definitely recommend Al Codega.

Only spent one night post-cruise at the hotel. As with everything else in Venice, it was a bit difficult to find the first time, even with the map they provided when we made the reservation. As we were trying to figure out how to get there, a nice gentleman approached us and asked which hotel we were looking for. Turns out that he actually works for Al Codega, so he ended up guiding us to the front door of the hotel. He saved us some time wandering around lugging our suitcases, thank you! We ar... Read more

Hotel is very close to the main attractions (St. Mark's Square, Rialto bridge, Doge's Palace, etc.). The staff were also incredibly helpful. First visit to Venice, it was a beautiful vacation with a girlfriend and we had the best time. The accommodations, the staff and the service at the Al Codega were the best. It was our last stop on the vacation and I rank it the best. Lorenza , Francesca , and the front desk staff went out off their way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast which is included was excellent and delicious. The rooms were very clean and location was perfect in a quiet area. Virginia T.

Hotel Al Codega was a delightful stay from start to finish. Tucked away in a discreet courtyard, it is beautifully modernized hotel with attentive service, spacious rooms, and a delicious breakfast. Follow the instructions/directions the hotel provides, as (typical to Venice) it can be a challenge to find something for the first time. Great hidden gem of a hotel in Venice... Friendly and helpful staff and hotel premises and rooms are very clean. Breakfast was good as well, elevator was small but at least they had one. I stayed in the Al Codega last week for 5 days and it was absolutely delightful, with the perfect location! The staff were totally professional and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in Venice and the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The morning we left, it was very early and before breakfast time, so the manager arranged a 'breakfast box' to take with us. Highly recommended!

This was a great little hotel with attentive, enthusiastic staff and very nice (but somewhat small) rooms. If you don't mind a room with two twin beds, room 203 does give you a bit more room and the WC is separate from the shower/sink. The only challenge is finding this gem when you get off the Vaporetto. Take Vaporetto 1 for absolutely no bridge/steps, but even #2, you will just have a small bridge. Do not make our mistake and cross the Rialto Bridge. The map provided is misleading and the ...
