We booked superior rooms through jet2.com city breaks. The rooms have seemingly now been reclassified as classic. All 3 were very disappointing. 2 were extremely small and 1 was on the ground floor beside the lift and very noisy with little daylight. Asked to be moved but advised they only had 3 'classic' rooms!! Receptionist looked embarrassed about allocating it luckily we didn't have to be in it very much. In The other rooms there was hardly space to pass each other. The breakfast was ok but ... Read more

I hesitate to write a negative review because there was really nothing wrong with this place exactly but we were a little disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high ( not sure I would classify this as a 4-star hotel) but compared with other hotels we stayed in throughout Italy this was not great. To be fair, it was less expensive than the hotel we stayed at last time in Venice but in hindsight I wish I would've paid an extra $100 per night for a different hotel (or looked around more to f... We stayed here for a short break in May this year and we're very disappointed with this hotel. We were unfortunate to get room 102 which is very small for 2 people. We had to shuffle around each other to get to the wardrobe. Only mirror was in the bathroom and not enough storage in the room. The air conditioning was very noisy. It kept us awake the first night and when we complained they said they would take a look at it which they did but nothing changed. We ended up just turning it off for th... Read more

We were able to walk into the hotel without too much zigzagging. It was a nice big room filled with character and charm. Worth the money to get a nice big room. The only thing that I may suggest is getting the breakfast lady to be friendlier and perhaps teach her a little bit of English! Otherwise we had a great stay!

This hotel is very good, very modern and its in a very good location. Has restaurants all over, two convenience stores nearby. And the taxi boats are half a block away. Its in the path of the gondolas. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very big, and are renovated. So its good. The AC only works in the summer, so you will need to open the windows if you need cold air!

We stayed here for three nights and thought the hotel was great, we had one of the two rooms with a balcony overlooking a cacal. It was great watching the world go by just before going out for dinner each night and would highly recommend one of these rooms. The room itself was very spacious and clean; the hotel staff were always very helpful. The breakfast was okay and agree with the comments about it being fairly basic, but this was a minor point and there was enough food to eat and choice, ... Read more

We had a great three night stay at this hotel. I strongly suggest you secure a room with a balcony and canal view. Breakfast was great with many options. The location was on a nice quiet canal yet very close to nice restaurants and the hectic St Mark's Square activity. Highly recommend and look forward to our return hopefully sooner rather than later!

This is a quaint little hotel well located in Venice. You can see the inner canals from your window. Staff at front desk were friendly and stored our luggage because room was not available early unfortunately. Breakfast room was lovely. Good basics, nothing fancy. However, the lady supervising the breakfast area made me a fabulous cappuccino! I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely, quaint little hotel.

After so many hotel reviews, it's the first time I give 1 point to a hotel for a reason. Trust me on this one! This is a 3* star hotel with overpriced tiny rooms even for Venice standards. That means that everything could be far better for what you pay. They have shady policies for children staying in the room. Without going into details, families should look elsewhere. i.e. book another hotel. Location is average deep inside among the canals, but not far from the attractions. There are no ... Read more

The staff was first class when we arrived. We got a very nice room which was spacious and with a very up to date when it comes to the standard of the room. The location was also very nice. A few houndred meters from the piazza st.marcus. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

My room was great had a small stocked fridge. Great complimentary breakfast with a nice variety. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You have to take a water can or something to get there if not in Venice. I discovered Bellini and it's my all time favorite refreshment. Visit the beautiful mask store next door she's so friendly and the variety of hand made mask is so unique. I was told there's big rats in Venice good news I didn't see one! I can't wait to return.

This hotel is in a great location, modern, spacious and great breakfast. The receptionists are great, very nice and welcoming, great food recommendations with easy to follow how to get there instructions. The hotel is very clean, renovated and when the Windows are closed there is no noise. The bed was spacious and comfortable, the 3 rd bed almost in its own room by itslef and the bathroom was quite big. I would definitely stay there again, especially this hotel has a lift for your luggage

The staff was very pleasant. Perfect location and walking distance to San Marks and the square. The hotel does need to acquire additional irons and boards. During our visit the iron broke and was not replaced. Hard to believe there was only one on the premises. Very nice hotel.

My only real criticism is that the directions to the hotel could be so much better. We got caught in the rain struggling to find it. Otherwise the location was great, the hotel lovely, our room modern and beautiful. The staff were quite nice apart from the drill sergeant breakfast lady :) We enjoyed our stay very much though and would stay again.

We spent 4 days in Venice and could not have been happier with the hotel and the staff. The rooms were spacious and the Hotel offered a great breakfast. The location was the best part about it...easy to find, a little bit away from all of the Tourist hot spots, but you can still walk to any one of them very easily. Every late afternoon we had the Gondoliers go past our hotel, we would grab a bottle of wine, sit out on our little balcony and listen to them sing as they went by. What a great a... Read more

Ai du Principi is located along a quiet canal in beautiful Venice. We had the family suite which included a king size bed as well as 2 twin beds and a small balcony overlooking the Canal. The main room was clean and comfortable as well as fairly spacious and there was a second room for the kids. The location was excellent as it was just a short walk to the Vaporetto in one direction and another short walk to Piazza San Marco. The front desk was just wonderful, super friendly and recommended ... Read more

Positives: We liked the quieter location yet close proximity to St. Mark's Square. The front desk of Christina and Deborah were both fantastic and supremely helpful. The washrooms were also very clean and modern, while the breakfast was delicious and the lady who helped us make coffee there was just kind and nice overall. Negatives: Room was small for two people, not to mention we have a bag each! The interior was a little jaded, while the floors weren't necessarily the most clean/comfortable.... Read more

We decided to head to Venice at short notice and booked the nice junior suite. It was a bit too big for u and it is better suited for a company of 4 to 5 persons. Nevertheless a perfect room with lots of space. We could have fitted a gondola in it I suppose. Hmmm! The room is spacious and the ceiling decorated with old fresco-like decorations. Fully fitted A/con kept the temperature inside low. Bathroom facilities were excellent and the bed was huge and comfi. Typical for Italian hotels the ... Read more

The hotel was very well laid out and the room was very nice, especially the bathroom (twin sink was nice as was the shower). Brilliant location near to cafe's and restaurants but not on the main drag. Just outside the hotel is one of the best spots to watch the Gondolas go by. When travelling to the hotel from Marco Polo Airport i'd advise taking a water bus to san zaccharia / San Marco that way there are less bridges to cross with your baggage.

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. The hotel roughly deserves 2 stars and needs an update. The food in the breakfast is the probably the cheapest that you can find in any supermarket and even the coffee was bad which is unacceptable considering that Italy is the country of the good coffee. I'd say the location is the only asset but there're other several hotels in the same area. Try to stay away from this place.

Great location and moderate price. Updated hotel surrounded by beautiful historic Venice. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and good breakfast. Close enough to all the attractions, but felt far enough away to not be overwhelmed with the St Mark's crowd. Close to water taxi drop off and near great restaurants.
