This was our second stay at this comfortable, friendly hotel and we weren't disappointed. Great location close to St Marks Square and the Bridge of Sighs which is idea for sight-seeing. the staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and the rooms comfortable, clean and tidy. The hotel is reasonably priced for Venice and in our view offers good value for money and if we return to Venice this will once agin be our hotel of choice.

The staff at the hotel were all knowledgable and friendly. Check in was quick. Were told that our room was going to be ready in about 1.5 hours, but our room was ready within 1/2 hour of when arrived at the hotel. Had a room on the 4th floor that was roomy and very comfortable. Had a great view of the canal below and spent a good deal of time just watching the gondola traffic below. Absolutely charming hotel. Breakfast was excellent.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Venice with very attentive staff. They provided help whenever necessary and were very professional. The rooms were presented to a high standard. They have great character. Classic style fused with modern amenities. My only issue was that the double bed we requested was a couple of single beds moved together. I wouldn't have expected this with the price we paid hence the 4 stars.

this charming characterful hotel opens straight on to one of the canals so you have to arrive by water taxi. As it's in the centre of Venice, you only have to walk 5 minutes to get to St Mark's, the Doge's Palace etc. Even nearer are restaurants offering all levels of catering and well worth visiting. However we found the better ones were on the front rather than in the backstreets. We found the wine from Venice almost undrinkable so we became savvy and bought wine from outside Venice such a... This very Venetian style hotel is located right behind the Basilica of San Marco, so St Mark's Square is no more than a five minute walk. Canal view rooms facing the front of the hotel face the same canal the Bridge of Sighs crosses, so if you stick your head out the window you can see the famous bridge and the gondolas floating by. Only you can decide if this is worth the extra money. Rooms on the first floor ( my friend and I had rooms 102&103 ) are small with low wooden beamed ceilings. Very ... Read more

My review is rather mixed for this hotel. We booked through Expedia and knew the cancellation policy was very restrictive. In addition, we were booked to the hotel annex, which has 8-10 rooms and is not directly attached to the hotel and is located so that there were no views at all. When two members of our party had to cancel, I tried to go through Expedia three separate times to either cancel one room or get the rooms transferred to the main hotel. There was no response that I am aware of ... Read more

This hotel is a gem ,situated on one of the canals close to San Marco Hotel . The rooms are sheer old world elegance .Infact the entire hotel is elegant and so very comfortable. We stayed in the main hotel The staff was as accommodating as can be and I struck up a lovely relationship with the manager who is a delight. Breakfast was perfect and it was all I had hoped a romantic stay in Venice would be

The Hotel Columbina is perfect for that romantic visit to Venice, the Hotel is just a short walk from St Marks square, all the restaurants, shops and other attractions. The hotel is reached by water taxi from the airport or station, when you arrive at the main entrance, you disembark from the boat onto the hotels small landing stage and you get the feel of old Vencice immediately, if you look down the canal you can see the bridge of sighs. Located in a beautiful 17th century former Venetian Palace, this gem of a hotel is conveniently located 100 meters from San Marco Piazza, just distant enough from the throng and bustle of tourists. On the narrow Rio di Palazzo Canal, a parade of gondolas tranquilly float past. Our lovely room had exposed beam ceilings and Venetian decor, with a large, luxurious marble bathroom. Mornings we indulged in a hearty breakfast, with a nominal surcharge for espresso drinks. We enjoyed a three night s... Read more

We arrived as a family of 7 and found that we had booked 5 rooms instead of four that I ordered on the Net. The problem was that my lady companion spoke to the hotel a few times and changed one of our rooms from the annex to the main hotel accepting a surcharge. However the hotel did not substitute the room but added a new room to the charge. When I complained that I needed only 4 rooms for two nights, not five, I was told the hotel had no control to change plans made on Expedia or any other web... Read more

Perfect location within a minute of St Marks Square. Typical Venetian decor, delighted with our room which as on the first floor overlooking the canal. Gondola traffic was amazing to watch and very entertaining. Room was quite dark, but full of character. Bathroom small, but well equipped. Comfortable bed and pillows! This hotel is an absolute gem located in the heart of Venice close to st marks square. Beautiful decor and comfortable beds. We got a room with a balcony, it's beautiful to watch the gondola go by in the morning. The staff is professional and very helpful. The breakfast room was small but beautifully decorated. I'll definitely recommend this hotel and/or stay here again,

I cannot understand why this property is not rated higher. Our experience was excellent. Our room was very quiet (#309), decor was nice and roomy enough for the family. Location could not be better. The staff were friendly and helpful. They booked a tour of Murano for us and we were picked up by private boat in front of the hotel (no charge). Extraordinary service, beautifully appointed rooms that were spotless. Lovely dinning area with bar. The breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of food... Read more

Great location. Wonderful staff. We only stayed 1 night, but it was a great stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room was amazing. There was lots of room to move around and the bathroom was big enough for 2 people to get ready at the same time. The hotel was just a short walk to St Marks Square ,shops and great choices of restaurants. Our suggestion is to start walking around and get lost. It will be easy enough to find your way back.

I took a room with a canal view and it was really nice. I could pop my head out of my window and view the bridge of sighs and the gondolas on the canal below. Staying at this hotel was one of the highlights of our time in Italy. It's in the best part of Venice, walking distance from the Piazza San Marco but it's also tucked away enough that you're away from the touristy noise and bustle. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The rooms were classic but clean and accommodated the 3 of us easily. Nice place - we stayed in the annex portion vice the main hotel. The only 'unfun' moment was dragging our luggage (we had packed for a cruise) to the third floor. The room was clean, had a/c in good working order; just had to be careful about the shower - which was elevated, but had no screen/door, so water tended to run out onto the floor. Rooms were tidied satisfactorily every day, and the annex had its own breakfast area, with a waiter assigned to it. The food, coffee, and drinks (continent... Read more

We got one of the canal view deluxe rooms and I really enjoyed the beautiful view onto the canal. We had a Juliet balcony and were on the second floor which was fine except that during the day gondolas were going by constantly. If you want a little more privacy a higher floor would be better but I don't think many rooms have actual balconies. Room was very quiet once doors were shut. Good size room with nice bathroom. Our only experience of a Venetian hotel. Found it rather cramped and awkwardly laid out but this may be typical of canal-side hotels in this part of Venice. A five minute Walk to St Mark's square. Hotel Colombina made for a perfect stay in Venice. It was situated right on one of the canals with a small sitting area on the canal. I was so so excited to stay at hotel Colombian in Venice however I was a little disappointed with our stay. I booked a canal view room which was not cheap and so I naturally expected to have a wonderful room (as depicted online). We did have a canal view however the room was tiny. Stayed at the Hotel Colombina in early July and it was great. The location was excellent (just a couple of blocks from St Mark's square) and the staff was professional and extremely helpful. This hotel is literally two blocks away from San Marco square. The area is surrounded by the typical Venetian mask and glass shops and many restaurants flooded with tourists. The front dock sits on a classic Gondola canal and from it you can easily see the famous Bridge of Sighs.
