We just stayed at the Bauer Plazzo in Vince Italy. We feel very fortunate to have stayed at this wonderful Hotel on the canal! The hotel itself is clean, beautiful, and the staff very accommodating. It is centrally located which is very convenient for touring the beautiful city of Venice. The rooms are beautiful, clean and stocked with lovely soaps and lotions. The beds are firm and comfortable. Arrive by water taxi and soak in the grand hotel ombiance. From check in through stay, staff is delightful and attentive. Got upgraded to an 8th floor room that offered a city view which made the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast buffet is well appointed and the Grand Canal patio offers a beautiful setting for starting the day. Food selection is broad and all fresh. Overall, great service and a nice stay.

Very very luxury hotel in the central Venice, you can get anywhere from the hotel, the room is amazing and clean, this hotel had guests such as big names of Hollywood actors and famous politics. Not really for low budget holiday seekers. The staff are amazing and very helpful, if you need a help on where to go for dinner just ask the concierge and he will suggest you the very best restaurant in town

After our cruise me and my husband decided to extend our stay in venice in the bauer hotel. The hotel have an excellent location and has a beautiful lobby. The rooms are a little dated but still very comfortable. I just advise future costumers to be careful while booking the hotel online on the hotel website. I booked the deluxe room with a view and was granted a room with view of some venetian roofs (while de e-mail confirmation I received said I would have a view of the side canal or of St Mo... The Bauer Hotel is in a good location near a side canal and not far from St. Mark's Square. It is an easy walk from the San Marco Giardinetti vaporetto stop with only 1 bridge to cross. The air conditioning was very good and the bathroom was spacious. Our superior room did not have any view. The windows were shuttered against a brick wall, so it felt claustrophobic not to be able to see the sky or the weather for the day. The best part was the wonderful breakfast and seating outside on a ter... Read more

We went to a party on the beautiful terrace of the hotel. The bartender was so professional and meticulous and made fantastic cocktails. The downside was that the party at some point became so crowded that it felt like being in a market. People was just skipping the queue and pushing to the bar. Also the tables were absolutely unsafe: the glass of our table got knocked several times by people passing by and because it's not attached to the structure of the table, we had to keep holding it and s... My wife and I stayed here for three nights at the end of May. We loved it! The staff were very helpful and friendly and it's location is incredible. The bed was amazing, I haven't had as good a nights sleep in many years. The room was a little warm even with the air con on, but we asked for a fan and it was delivered within minutes. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough, and I will be back.

Great staff. Very helpful and informed. Brilliant, almost perfect location close enough to be in the midst of everything, not too close you felt in a tourist hell. Our family suite was big and well furnished. Comfy bed and two bathrooms were great. The breakfast on the terrace is amazing for a location but the quality of the food could do with a little improvement if I'm honest. I would definitely go back though and would be happy to stay there with or without kids if I return to Venice.

My partner and I stayed at the Bauer during our trip to Venice last week and just wow. The hotel is gorgeous with lovely decor and a classic finish and our room was fantastic. We were lucky enough to have a terrace for the room to sit on and enjoy the views over the rooftops and the sunshine! Placed right on the canal it has easy access to everything you might want to see and the staff are incredibly helpful. In particular Marco our Conceige stood out for me. We requested a room with a canal view. They "upgraded" us to a "deluxe" room. Our entire view is shown in the photo. I wish I could supply audio of the very loud construction going on in the narrow space outside our window. Fortunately it is Italy and they don't start until 9 AM. The room itself is spacious and the bathroom is modern marble and perfectly functional. We are in the modern wing of the hotel which does not face the Grand Canal. We spent two nights at the Bauer. The rooms are probably average size for the European style. They did have a nice bathroom with tub/shower, commode, bidet, etc. The main problems we encountered was with the service. When we returned after the first day, there were no hand towels or bathmat. A minor inconvenience, but one that should not be found at an upscale hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. I made a reservation for three nights at Hotel Bauer on the Grand Canal in Venice through tripadvisor. Our flight from London arrived just before midnight so when we got to the hotel it was about 1:00 AM. The hotel found no reservation but gave us a room anyway. It took two days to straighten the mess out. Not so sure about booking through Tripadvisor again.

This is now our 6th time in Venice as it is still our favourite city in Italy. On three occasions we have stayed at a Bauer Hotel, two are close or attached the third is on an island across the Grand Canal. The more upmarket and expensive is the Bauer Il Palazzo which faces the Grand Canal and is in a much older building. We chose to stay in the larger but less expensive, more modern Bauer, although all are five star rated. The Bauer is close to San Marco as is the grander Bauer Il Palazzo and t... Read more

My husband and I stayed 5 days at Bauer Hotel. The room was neat and spacious. The staff were kind and polite. Concierges always gave helpful answers to our questions. (We are Japanese, so I think it was hard to understand our English.)Our days began with a delicious morning buffet. They ended in our gorgeous bathroom, where the water in shower flowed with delightful force. It was very comfortable for our tired bodies after a long day walking around Venice.

The Bauer hotel is fantastic, it's in a superb location just a few minute's walk from st marks square. The hotel has a real sense of luxury, stayed here a couple of years ago and we were lucky enough to have a canal view, which we didn't have on this occasion. The bar on the grand canal offers superb views, and is a welcome respite from the bustle of the city.

This is a lovely hotel...expensive, but then again so are all the better appointed hotels in Venice. Our room was large and comfortable. No view, but we didn't spend much time in the room and I prefer having the large modern bathroom. I'm sure a view would have cost hundreds more. We stayed 3 nights at the Bauer in March 2016. While the hotel has a superb location, and food and drink was very good, it is the service that is truly outstanding. Whether from the Concierge, or wait staff, or the bellboy, it is warm, hospitable and very professional. The room itself was fine, smaller than we expected for a deluxe suite and less of an interesting view than we had hoped, however we came away delighted with our stay as a consequence of the wonderful staff.

Appearance: Very clean and well kept. Decore is beautiful, old venetian style. Cons: Great buffet breakfast excluding the eggs...they are under cooked and runny...when I a... Read more

Excellent hotel, we are a family of four with two older children, so booked a room for four adults and they gave us a suite with a mini kitchen and a roof terrace. But no kettle/tea/coffee. But the room service was very quick.

We spent two nights at the Bauer whilst in Venice awaiting a flight home. The hotel is wonderfully located in central Venice, a couple of minutes from San Marco Square and in the middle of the high class shopping area. The room we had, on the second floor, overlooked a side canal and from the balcony the comings and going of gondoliers and passengers could be viewed, all day long if one so desired. The room itself was a good size, with ample wardrobe space as well as a mini-bar, a flat screen TV... Read more

We searched many Hotels in Venice for our Anniversary stay and so glad that we have decided to stay in Bauer . Perfect location for any route you would like to take in Venice, very convenient for the water taxi too . The rooms are beautiful with amazing views ( ask for the Canal view rooms ) , service excellent , very attentive and helpful. They have access to the best Restaurant booking even those that require advanced booking. I thought it was more for just couples but after staying at Bauer w... Read more

The ocean view from this hotel is spectacular. The service is impeccable and there are amazing day trips offered into the Venetian lagoon from the hotel. You cannot go wrong if you are seeking to experience Italy in a new way.

Our family of 5 stayed just 1 night at the Bauer at the end of a cruise so we could enjoy a 2nd day in Venice. Wish we had booked another night in retrospect. Hotel is in a great location - very short walk from St Marks square, gondola station right outside and water taxi drops you off right in front of hotel, which is very helpful when you have a lot of luggage. Hotel is also beautiful and very spacious - we had two connecting rooms for our party. The best part was we arranged the 7th heaven br... Read more

A good hotel with some great staff but some staff are quite average in their service. Very good location close to all amenities and St Marko Square and shopping. Wouldn't be back as I do believe there is better places for the value.

My wife and I stayed at the Bauer Palladio Hotel and Spa. We enjoyed everything about this place. We loved the history about the location. The breakfast was phenomenal. The restaurant was very good and accommodating for health requirements. The spa was great, I had a massage and my wife had a facial and manicure. The staff was very helpful with whatever we needed.

The Bauer is just the right combination for a place to stay in Venice. Located on the Grand Canal, the deck sits right at the Gondola station and on the Vaporetto line. It is traditional Venetian decor with luxury amenities

We checked into a his hotel today having been told it was a good hotel in fact a leading hotel!! Let me tell you it is not. Our room is a cell. We asked for a kettle and were told we had to pay 5 euros to have a kettle in the room!!!! Talk about Rip Off!! Every standard hotel in the universe provides a kettle these days. Had we not already pre paid we would have checked out

We spent 2 nights at the Bauer upon arriving in Italy from the United States. We reserved a Family Suite as we are a party of 4 (2 daughters ages 9 & 12). The Family Suite has an inner courtyard view and consists of 1 bedroom and 1 living room with a pullout sofa. There are also 2 bathrooms. The one closest to the pullout sofa is large and has a soaking tub but no overhead shower. The smaller bathroom is by the master bedroom and has a stall shower. What we liked: 1. We found this hotel below standard and didn't feel that it deserved a 5 star. On entrance to the reception there are large stains on the rugs which appeared to have been there a while. The staff behind the reception and concierge desks lacked hospitality skills. We didn't find them very attentive during our stay and at times it felt they were dismissive. Breakfast was limited with only a small selection. We were disappointed to find a lack of healthy choices and no chef prepared options or fis... Read more

This hotel has un undeniably good location almost on St Mark's square and adjacent to Prada, Gucci, Bottega Veneta et al. But it runs itself as two hotels with different and unconnected reception desks, yet the facilities are substantially shared. I think the good rooms are in the Bauer Palazzo. We had to check in at both desks, a cumbersome arrangement Our "superior suite", room 115 on the first floor is absolutely to be avoided. Impressively huge with a lovely comfortable bed it has a splen... Read more

My partner surprised me with a long weekend in Venice. What can I say Venice is amazing it was my third visit to Venice and I will never tire of the city. We travelled by water taxi from the airport to Venice which is well worth the extra expense, the view of Venice from the water is stunning. We arrived at the hotel but we very disappointed to be sent around to the side to stay in the newer part of the hotel. The booking was very misleading as we thought we were staying in the older part... Read more

This is a lovely hotel operated and maintained to a good five star standard with an unbeatable location on the canal and adjacent to St Mark's Square. The views from the terraces are fantastic and it has a real luxury ambiance. However all this comes at a price. Be prepared to pay more than double the asking rate of comparable hotels not in such a prime position. We treated ourselves for three nights on the basis that you only live once. Our third trip to wonderful Venice.

We decided to splurge on this 5 star hotel on our once in a lifetime trip to Venice. We got to the beautiful hotel, only to be told that we were not staying at the actual Bauer hotel but at a "different property". The clerk was apologetic from the get-go once she saw our faces drop. Well this "different property" was in a completely separate building (Casa Nova), with no front desk, no concierge, NOBODY in the lobby. I literally wake up excited to go sit on the canal every morning and watch the boats and city while enjoying my cappuccino and eggs. Absolutely perfect location - just off San Marcos square and on the Grand canal. Easy to access by cost effective local transport - water bus 7 Euros per person. Wonderful staff and amazing setting. All the "singing" Gondolas come passed while sitting on the outside balcony and picture perfect setting. Lovely posh room with a gorgeous bathroom, dressing room and comfortable bed. We loved it. A perfect piece of our honeymoon in Italy. Highly recommended - you won't be disappointed.

Stayed for 3 days, almost an anniversary holiday, absolutely adored the place. OK, so there is the Casa Nova, a building next door, but you stay there, pay substantially less and have all the amenities of one of the world's best hotels. Yes, it simply is that good. Nothing could be nicer, nor more romantic as having breakfast overlooking the Grand Canal with all its water-borne activity, eating an outstanding repast and enjoying a cold Prosecco. When you enter the lobby and the your room, you can't help but think WOW. The location was fantastic as you were within a 15 minute walk of almost everything. The hotel staff was most helpful and polite. The breakfast, on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal, offered all you could desire to start your day.
