We found the staff to be very pleasant. The room was a good size for what we paid. The decor was typically Venetian in the rooms (cherubs galore, huge drapes, big portrait and very flamboyant) and the public areas are almost boutique like in style. The breakfast is bit short in selection - just two hot foods (scrambled egg and bacon) and a selection of cold meets, fruit, hot/cold drinks and cereal. Would use this hotel again.

Stayed here a couple of nights in April 2016, I would like to mention the service , the staff were all excellent and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was beautifully presented and delicious . The only negative thing I would mention- that I was disappointing with the room - I purchased a standard double room and saw the picture of it before -however the room was nothing like it , it was small and crowded and no view from the window -for the price I payed very poor room.

Room: Bathroom and bedroom was clean. Seems like they tried to preserve much of the older decor as possible while upgrading the room. Thankfully the bathroom looked fairly clean and renovated. Our balcony view was into the back of the hotel, nothing fantastic to look at. Location: Excellent location! About a 5 min walk away from St. Lucia Venezia Station, right smack in the middle of the bustling crowds and fun-filled streets. I'm very glad I chose this spot near the beginning of town consider... We booked this hotel as part of a package including the flight. We found the location convenient for those arriving by airport transfer bus, also for the railway station. For travel around the city by the canals on a vaporetto it is near to the Ferrovia stop from where you can reach most places on the 20 euro day ticket. There are plenty of bars and places to eat within a few metres of the hotel, an exchange facility next door and a bank with atm 50m away. We found the staff at Amadeus pleasant... Read more

We stayed here for a city break. It was well located from the water taxi from the airport, but a bit of a walk to St marks or Rialto. Quite handy for the grand canal though and many places to eat and buy gifts nearby. Room was adequate - 4th floor, but no view to speak of. Safe, tv with some channels including bbc news and a safe. No tea and coffee making. En suite with bath and shower. Clean enough though. Have to admit funniest toilet arrangement ever. I'm 5 ft 8, so anyone 5 10 or taller wo... Read more

This hotel is situated on the main walkway from the railway station which is only 300m away. The foyer area is quite smart and the breakfast room is very nice in a garden setting. Breakfast is the continental type but there was a good variety of food well presented. We found the staff courteous and helpful. The big let down was the room. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the main walkway where there are a lot of bars and cafes nearby. The windows appeared to be double glazed but this... Read more

Easy walk from the station and to the water bus, water taxis and gondolas. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Breakfast room was very well appointed including the garden dining area. Breakfast was very nice and included a wonderful fruit salad. The room was small but tastefully decorated. Power points were falling out of the wall we had to disconnect lamps to plug in chargers even had hold the cover while plugging in. The bathroom was too small and the positioning of the toilet at the end of t... Read more

When I looked at the picture from booking.com, to be honest I expected a little bit much about this hotel. Nice, classy, and big room. It turns out, the room that I got its not so big. I can say that it's not well maintain. The bathroom is not so big but it is very clean. The other good thing about this hotel is ,,, it's not far from the bus stop in piazzale roma. Just walk around 800 metres and you'll find it and it's on the main street also. The receptionist guys are very classy and sophistic... Read more

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Amadeus which was located only a short walk from the taxi-stop and train station. The people there were very polite and helpful and spoke perfect English. The breakfast was very tasty and fresh. If you want lobster with champagne for breakfast this isn't the hotel for you, but for a fine selection of breakfast delights this hotel will do fine. The location of the hotel is close to the busy streets with restaurants, bars and markets only a stones throw away. You wi... Read more

We originally booked for Principe hotel, the sister hotel for Amadeus. Since there was a problem with the air-conditioning we were given the option to move 50m down the road to Amadeus. The staff was very kind to offer us a proper compensation and they also let us use all of Principe's facilities which is overlooking the grad canal. It was great having coffee every morning on the balcony glazing at the canal. The rooms were equally the same at both the hotels, with a slight advantage to Amadeu... Read more

When we got off the train in Venice I couldn't believe how close this hotel was to the station and yet felt in the heart of Venice and so local. Very easy for train station and water taxis/ water buses. It has an old and quaint feel to it. The sheets, towels and bathroom were very clean, there was a little stain on the carpet in the room. We had a lovely little balcony. A good choice at breakfast. If you like sleek and modern this won't suit you but I loved it. Helpful staff. A good base for... Read more

This was our first visit to Venice & Amadeus Hotel & throughly enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel was in a great location, near to the train station so not many bridges to cross with your luggage if arriving by bus. Our room was lovely clean & bright on the 4th floor, with beautiful views of the roof tops & also the pretty gardens. Breakfast was of good quality & plentiful with a choice to eat inside or out in the hotels pretty court yard garden. I cannot fault the staff or our stay at this h... Read more

Stayed at the Amadeus for a couple of nights at either end of our recent cruise. We found it a perfect hotel for us. Had 2 different rooms and both were beautiful. We loved the Venetian style. Perfectly situated for the bus station where the airport shuttle bus arrives/departs and for the People Mover mono rail which goes to the port of Venice. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely. No tea/coffee facilities in the room but that seems to be the way of things in many hotels these days u... Read more

The staff at check in was great (feel bad that I forgot his name), Andres, Safi, housekeeping, Donald and his helper at breakfast were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Very clean and will be back to stay with my group next year. The location is perfect and close to the water buses, train station and shopping. The restaurant Le Lista Bistro next door is wonder and loved the food and staff there too.

The hotel is close to the garages and train station, that's a definite plus. You can walk to place San Marco in less than 25 minutes, which means that in one day you can finish the city tour and see pretty much everything (without entering museums of course). The breakfast is nice, everything is well set up. The decor in the room brings you back in time. Everything is operational, but you get the feeling that the rooms haven't been well taken care of. The shower was dirty when looking closer, t... Read more

Clean and quiet hotel with friendly staff. Quite a long walk from St Marks Square but lots to see on the way. (if you don't get lost) Hotel could do with its own bar but you do have others on your doorstep. Breakfast had a good selection. Enjoyable 4 day break, Venice is just beautiful.

We stayed at this hotel in July 2016 for 3 nights. It is located in a great position with many shops and restaurants surrounding it. The railway station is only a 1 minute walk. We had a triple room for the 3 of us and it was a fantastic size. We had 3 Windows which a all opened and the air conditioner was working great. The beds were quite comfortable. The room had a lovely decor and was clean. Our bathroom was dated, however it was clean. There was no tea or coffee available, but we had a bar ... Read more

We stayed in the Superior Double room for 3 nights in July and it was more than we expected, not many pictures of this room online so were pleasantly surprised (pics of room uploaded). Shutters on the window kept out (some) noise and made the room pitch black which was great for those relaxing sleep ins! The staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast a little disappointing with items that had ran out each day (we didn't eat late) BUT the location of the hotel more than made up for this; a 2 ... Read more

We had a very comfortable room on the 2nd floor just overlooking the garden at the rear of the hotel.Breakfast was included and was perfectly adequate, enough to choose from including cheese, meats, cereals, bacon.eggs, fresh croissants.Tea and coffee and juices. There were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area.

The hotel gives you a feel of traditional venice which is very much required while visiting this marvelous city. The lively street of shops leading to the hotel is like some leaf taken out from an epic literary work. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious with nice views and well lit. It will turn everyone into a morning person.

First they gave me a smelly room with rusty and noisy air conditioner. When asked to change they grudgingly showed me a room with A/C that was not working at al. Staff pretended not to understand English. Receptionist was rude and disrespectful. The third room shown had a a working A/C that was not noisy but was tiny and not ready so I had to accept it and wait for hours that wasted my limited time I had for my stay in Venice. The sheets seemed to be laundried but had stains and the bed was tiny... Read more
