Location is excellent (other than the stench from the canal that permeates into many parts of the hotel). Plus side - the breakfast includes pastries so fresh you'd swear you were in a Parisiene patisserie. And they stock soya milk which made me happy. Good wifi Good sized rooms (ours was anyway) Overall though it is rather tired and the overnight staff on the frontdesk is miserable. Pricewise, it's a lot for what it is.

Won't bother returning here... much better places out there with modern services, wifi that works and friendly staff. The receptionist who checked me in was miserable and extremely unwelcoming, borderline rude to be honest. The only perk was the shower which was strong. The decor is very dated and I know they may meet the requirements to have a 4 star rating, but feel it is more like a 3.

Very disappointing to find to get to my room on the sixth floor with lift only going to fourth so had to drag my cases up 2 flights of very steep stairs. When I asked the night reception for help I was just very flatly told no you will have to manage yourselfđ??ˇ The room was very small decor was out of last century the pillow was like a brick. The bed was clean as was the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was adequate. The best point was the location right on the edge of st mark square I would ... Read more

The whole experience was negative from greeting at the front desk to being told we were in a 'new room' to the hot water not working to the bed being itchy. The sleep was uncomfortable and the concierge gentleman overnight was useless, a complete lack of care for the guests. We had booked a twin room and received a double bed, upon asking to change we were told there were no more rooms available. Quite disappointing having only one night to enjoy the city.

I did a lot of research about hotels in Venice and where to stay. We decided to stay close to Piazza San Marco and start looking for hotels. I though 4 star hotel like everywhere is the world means 4 star room, facilities and staff services, Well, this hotel is far from it The beds are like jail bed, not even a good quality mattress on top of the frame, the pillows were concrete sacks. The bathroom has mold and the heating system didn't work for a day (we stayed there in winter) The breakfast wa... Read more

Perfect place to stay in Venice. Nice and helpful staff, and we liked the rooms which had a genuine feeling despite not being all marble and gold plated. Lots of culture and restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

We chose this hotel for its position and we were not disappointed regarding that, so close to all the attractions, water buses, and action. Overlooking the canal and a stroll to the Gondolas. The hotel itself is a bit tired and rooms are super tiny, I say rooms because I looked at 3 others after our initial room was un exceptable due to the noise from the air con motor room adjacent, similar to the racket of jet plane, the guy on reception offered up a few more choices, one had a sewage smell, ... We had a great room, overlooking a canal and just by a small bridge. Our room was a corner one so we had views out both sides. Very ornate room, smallish but typical European. Staff very friendly and helpful and the food was ok. We had breakfast there which was a little chaotic at times but as it was quite a smallish area so it was to be expected. It gets very wet at times in the square but we were warned about that so it wasn't a problem. Huge queues though if you wish to visit St. Marks Cath... Read more

Honestly, my wife and I were very happy to stay in this hotel. It is very close to many of the sights in Venice and they were very respectful of their clients. That being said, we had not been in contact with the staff that much because we were always out somewhere. Property was spotless and had a wonderful vibe. We had a wonderful view of the canals and again, very close to the Basilica and other attractions. In my perspective, this was very much worth the time, effort, and money!

I did not know what to expect after perusing the reviews in here. What we was a wonderful, helpful staff, very good accommodations and a powerful shower. The room was beautiful - overlooking the canal, the location of the hotel is just superb and the service was second to none. Not only would we recommend this hotel to anyone but intend to stay there again this spring.
