Small room, tiny (ridiculously small) bathroom with tired furniture. Staff were disinterested and breakfast was poor - 7.30am and they had run out of bread! I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

Much will depend on the room you are given, but ours was initially a broom closet, upgraded to something marginally bigger when I complained. We certainly never saw a room like the ones advertised on the website. The only plus is the proximity to San Marco - if that's what interests you. The room was clean, but very small, tired and badly in need of refurbishment. The staff were barely civil. Plenty of mosquito bites, though in fairness that's nobody's fault. All in all, it put me off the ... Read more

We really enjoyed this hotel. We were located in the annex building in a large two-bedroom room with a kitchen, two bathrooms, dining room and living room with sofa bed. I have no idea how we got that particular room; we worked with a travel agent. We did hear the folks walking above us, and the decor was ornate but a little tired - but overall, we loved it because of the location. We very much liked being so close to San Marco Square that we can pop "home" anytime. As Americans used to large be... Read more

This beautiful hotel is located in a great spot, a minute from Piazzo San Marco, but far enough away from the crowds. Short walk from the pier, easily access with wheeled luggage. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated and decorated nicely. Definitely would recommend the hotel to others and if I ever get a chance to go back to Venice I would stay there. Breakfast that came with the room rate was worth it, a variety of tasty dishes.

Small kitchen with microwave and fridge and hot plate but no dishes pots or utensils. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is charming and very clean

A small old hotel with lots of character. The room I stayed in was quite dark but it did have a large safe, a good bathroom and large king size bed. Breakfast was very good plenty of selection but nothing hot. The hotel was welcoming even though I was only spending one night there.

This hotel is wonderful! The staff was not only good looking people but also very friendly! They were very accommodating and helpful. The location is just a few steps away from San Marco Square. The rooms were always very clean and they replace all the soaps and shampoos. They room is quite huge and doesn't have any smell. The breakfast is also very delicious. If you are going on a budget and want the best, you should stay in this hotel.

Loved the hotel, the location is fantastic - 10 second walk to St Marks square. If you're coming from the airport (Marco Polo), get the water bus - easily sign posted and get the blue line. Back to the hotel - the breakfast is really nice and a great selection, just beware of the city tax - £4.95 per person per night, I'm sure it would be the same elsewhere. Double room was two beds pushed together and the rooms are small but I'd definitely stay there again. Location is perfect...

The hotel was very clean and very conveniently located close to Piazza San Marco. It was a little hard to find ( as I suspect many places in Venice are, but that adds to the charm) The breakfast was a little skimpy but flavorful. The air conditioning worked very well. The staff was pleasant enough but not extraordinarily friendly. The furnishings were acceptable but a bit dated.

Perfect location, our suite was great, breakfast needs improvement. staff were helpful, elevators were big enough to fit two suitcases. Breakfast food was disappointing. Fruit tasted strange, juice was watered down, for the cost to add breakfast we were expecting a little better.

Small bathroom quarters. but my point is, if you simple go to your room, see it, come back to lobby, and inquire about any free upgrades they can help with, they will transfer you to a suite for free that is mind blowing. we couldn't believe our eyes. awesome awesome stay. great location. friendly staff ready to please. but DONT go on free "tour" of gal... No dramas. Rooms are quaint, pretty, if dated......but that's most of Venice. Hot showers, minibar, comfy bed, great location. 60 euros for a private taxi to San Marcos square, then a 10 min hike with luggage, but worth it, as the free ferry can take well over an hour, and it's packed. To get back to the station, come out of the hotel, turn right, and head for Rialto bridge. This is where the free ferry has a short cut. 7 euros, and 15 mins to the airport.

Great location off the San Marco square and perfect if you want to see the sights quickly from the hotel. Near the water taxi drop off as well. Service is ok - ranges from fantastic to OK depending on who you meet at the busy front desk. We were upgraded to a suite with a balcony in the rabbit warren that is this hotel. Great to have a balcony. Would recommend for location alone. Rooms facing inward are quiet.

This hotel's location is ideal, being an easy walk into San Marco Square and in the other direction towards Accademia. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well. We were proudly told that we'd been upgraded to a "superior" room, but it turned out to be a cramped room with a double bed on the mezzanine which had an impossibly low roof, and two single beds for our teenaged boys downstairs in the very small living area. We expected better for our daily tariff.

Got a room at very short notice. Small room at the top floor suited us perfectly. 3 beds, needed only 2, not big, but functioning bathroom with shower. Clean an tastefully restored room. Ok breakfast, but the location gets the highest scores. Venice is a nice labyrinth, but perfectly accessible with San Marco as base!

I made resv. for San Marco Palace, but ended up in San Marco Hotels; apparently, they run several properties. If you are a light sleeper, bring war plugs! Walls are thin & water-pipes, elevators & doors make a LOT of noise. They also seem short-staffed for their breakfast buffet. Location is great, right off of ST Marco Plaza, but there are detractions.

Situated about 1-2 min walk from Saint Mark's Square, the hotel is in an excellent spot for the main tourist sites. Honestly, my wife and I were very happy to stay in this hotel. It is very close to many of the sights in Venice and they were very respectful of their clients. That being said, we had not been in contact with the staff that much because we were always out somewhere. Property was spotless and had a wonderful vibe. We had a wonderful view of the canals and again, very close to the Basilica and other attractions. In my perspective, this was very much worth the time, effort, and money!
