The only problem we had with the hotel was at the breakfast buffet. Cheese and meat and scrambled eggs and meat were stored in the same containers which meant they touched and the steam from the hot foods mixed with each other, customers used the same serving utensils for both - not good news for vegetarians. Apart from that, the breakfasts were good, excellent location (less than 5 mins walk from St Marks), very friendly and helpful staff - everyone spoke very good English. No wifi in rooms but... My lovely husband took me to Venice for my birthday (which happened to be on the Saturday), and from the moment the plane landed I was mesmerized by the whole place, with water everywhere and the main form of transport being boats! He had ordered a water taxi (shared as cheaper) and we had to go to window 71 (I think) in arrivals, and they had our details and we had to wait about 15 minutes for other couples to arrive. We then walked down a mostly covered walkway to the jetty to get on a mot... Read more

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It is very old and very well located being just off Piazza San Marco. The staff are generally helpful - more so the bar and waitress staff. Desk staff are aloof at times. Hotels in Venice are not cheap we discovered - we paid roughly $370 per night in this hotel which included breakfast. The hotel is old and tired - in desperate need of a refurb. The two worst things about this hotel are - the stench in our room (5th floor) almost burns the hairs out of yo... Read more

My reservation was "not downloaded" at the UNA Hotel Venezia and I was promised the All'Angelo Hotel) as a substitute "four star" hotel at a better location. The room had holes in the wall, cracks in the wall, dirty carpets, and a musty smell. I had an allergy attack and could not sleep. The service was generally good and the people at the desk did express genuine concern about my health. Further, the location is very good. However, neither of these attributes can make up for the condition of... Read more

The rooms have a more dingy kind of a look. Wifi is only available in the lobby and not in the rooms. Their breakfast buffet is pathetic. They dont serve toast in breakfast. Scrambled egg was also not upto the mark. The only thing good about the hotel is its location.

We went to this hotel and we were given a room with a view which was closed from all sides by the other walls of the of the windows of the room opened to some huge aluminium ducts which used to smell kitchen and other food we used to keep it closed at all times.....there was no wifi in our rooms and when asked they said it is only available in the lobby which was false coz the wifi was available inside all other rooms close to the elevator and the staircase.....if all ... This place was a total dump! Paint on the walls was peeling off, cracks in just about every wall and door frames, the tub in the shower was gross... I mean I hope you brought some shower shoes... We had two rooms at this hotel and our friends in the other room had a floor board that came off the wall with a giant nail sticking up that they had to put back on the wall. Not to mention the toilet was disconnected or something and had to reconnect it. The stairs going up to all the floors were crack... Read more

I was assured this was an upscale property; it's not. I was on the 1st floor, there was construction work on the floor directly above us; we listened to drills and hammers all afternoon. The desk staff seemed very disinterested when I asked how long it would continue. The room was fairly clean, but the bathroom sink dripped all night. As noted by others, there was a lot of paint peeling off the walls, etc. They show a lot of pictures of canal views, etc. My room overlooked an abandoned p... Read more

Clean sheets and towels every day and food ok. The water taxi was a rip-off though. We paid the hotel 115 euros for three of us, which was supposed to be just us. Another couple got in the same taxi and we found out by talking to them that they only paid half price because they were sharing. I sent an email on my return to the UK asking for a refund. Received an email from the hotel acknowledging my email saying the manager would respond. I heard nothing so sent another email. Absolutely no res... Read more

I stayed at this hotel the first time in 2013, it is in a great location. However, I was disappointed this visit with the condition of the room. The ceiling paint was peeling, the toilet seat was cracked plus a hot tap that did want to turn off, along with a shower curtain that had definitely seen better days, it was not up to the standard I would expect from a 4 star hotel. I realise that the buildings are old and take a lot to maintain but when people are paying quite a substantial amount of m... Read more

Ok I give this place definitely a 5 stars for location of St.Marks square and basilica. But our room was in need of new painting, A/C worked minimally and needed help. The wifi is great in lobby area and by the elevator of stairwells but poor elsewhere. Definitely only a three star place for hotel. This was possibly booked for our large Italy tour group because of location which I understand. There is great Resteraunt "Rossopomodoro" right near by worth trying.

The hotel itself is ok it,s proximity to St Mark's square makes it ideal, the room we had was very tired and the bathroom had a slant in it that caused the excess water to run to the corner of the door as was evident of wood rot. All in all NJ i would stay again

Not a bad hotel for a first-time visit to Venice. Within 5 mins walk from St Marks Square and less than 10 mins from Rialto Bridge. Very good Breakfast with lots of choices. Cereals, hot bacon and eggs, cold meats and cheeses, yogurts, fruit juices, tea and coffee, breads and pastries. Comfortable room with Air conditioning - free wi-fi in lobby - which would be better if available in rooms. Staff in breakfast room extremely helpful. Reception and bar staff could do with a little more cust... Read more

Came here with my sister for a brief vacation in Venice and got suckered into thinking this place would be good based on the photos showing views of the canals from the room windows, the location and the price. As an American traveling abroad I knew I needed to adjust my standards to the simpler way of Italian accommodations and thought this hotel would provide the standard: clean, simple, small but enough, no glitz, but adequate. This place was in fact a dump. The first room they put us in w... Read more

Stayed in this hotel for 7 nights and loved everything about it! Location is prefect with restaurants on your door step and st marks square is a walk of 2/3 minutes. Breakfast was freshly done every morning with choice. Maids done an excellent job of cleaning and changing the towels everyday. Reception staff were extremely helpful especially 1 Italian gentleman who worked in the nights on the desk. He did tell us his name but we forgot! He recommend a nice Italian restaurant that we went to and ... Read more

We had a romantic week in Venice to celebrate our 50th birthdays, and booked this Hotel through BA. Its generally very tired, bed was comfortable, bathroom was huge and NO WIFI in rooms.... Our room overlooked a small busy side street with restaurants - was quite noisy but not too bad. Location is good, 5 minutes from the Allilaguna water bus in San Marco, most importantly no bridges to lug your case over. We walked to most places from here so is well situated for the sites, water buses and ea... Read more

The Hotel was in a very Central spot, close to San Marco Sqare and easy walking to Rialto. The room I was given was tiny with single bed. Needs updating. Nice Bar. Walking around in the evening was delightful and the hotel was in a perfect place to do that.
