Very nice hotel, desk lady was rude and tried to bully me into a more expensive room when clearly regular rates were available online. Other then that, everything was good, nice location and beautiful town.

Stayed here for two nights 26/27th April. Hotel sent us instructions to get there which were easy to follow although we were a bit apprehensive about serving they the pedestrian zone! Staff were really nice (thanks particularly to Sabrina & Blanca) and helpful. Rooms were big, airy and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good. Lovely to sit outside in Piazza Minerva in hotel bar for a drink in the evening. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again if opportunity arose.

If you visit Syracuse, the Ortiga neighbourhood is the go-to place. Right in the middle of Ortiga, beautifully located next to the Duomo, you'll find the hotel, which requires a short adventurous trip down a narrow shopping street if you come by car (don't worry, the Italians drive there too!). A beautiful place, very friendly staff, great breakfast and gorgeous building. We had a family room for 4 (with our two 11-year olds), very spacious, well maintained. Overall an excellent 2 night stay, an... Read more

This is an incredible find I the heart of Ortigia island section of Siracusa. Great location and great staff. Francesco and Sabrina were especially helpful. It is on a "Pedestrian Only" street that is not quite that if you are driving, Google maps and Bing give incorrect directions but the hotel can give you directions if you ask. Sabrina was most helpful

Perfectly positioned hotel for exploring the sights and tastes of Ortigia. Iconic view from our balcony. Staff were excellent , helpful and friendly and the parking facility provided was a must in these narrow streets. Breakfast was a relaxing experience with a good choice of continental style food.

Loved staying at this hotel. It was located on popular Via Roma just around the corner from the Duomo and main square. Everything was really easy to find from this hotel including shops, cafes and restaurants. We had a room on the top floor (with a small balcony) which was quiet and comfortable with a great buffet breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Antico Hotel Roma is located in the heart of Ortigia, on the corner of two pedestrian streets, Via Roma, lined with shops and restaurants, and Via Minerva (more of a piazza than a street), with restaurants and the hotel on one end and the Piazza Duomo on the other. This unique location isolates the hotel from the noise of automobile traffic yet connects it directly to the vital pedestrian life - day and night - of this ancient Greek island rebuilt in the Baroque style now a center of tourism in... The reception is very freindly and helpful, The rooms spacious and clean. The hotel is on a main street which adds to its location, but if you are sensitive to noise, ask for a quiet room, there is a lot of noise from the street and Piazza.Breakfast was good,

What a fantastic location! Right in the centre of Ortigia ideal for visiting all the local attractions. The staff were very accommodating, particularly on reception. Nothing was ever too much trouble. There was a little noise at night from the nearby square but the double glazing kept this out and the air conditioning was very efficient. For those travelling by car only do so if you are a confident driver. Access to the hotel and garage is very tight.

The Hotel Roma is Ortigia Central - on the corner of Piazza Minerva and Via Roma - quite literally the heart of the ancient city right behind the Duomo. We stayed here for four nights after originally being booked for three. And we spent them all in Siracusa, mostly in Ortigia - the oldest part. As soon as you arrive at the hotel you know you made a fabulous choice. All there is to do then is to adjust to "Sicily Time" by having a leisurely breakfast, a walk around the sites followed by lunc... Read more

This is a gorgeous little hotel tucked just back from the main piazza in Ortigia. It's a fantastic location from which to explore Ortigia and a great place to sit outside in their outdoor area enjoying an apperitivo or breakfast. Our room was very clean, and spacious (we had a small suite having booked extra space for a bed for our son). The room had a simple elegance and was lovely and cool. The staff were very helpful and courteous and put on the most amazing breakfast. Highly recommend this ... Read more

The hotel is ideally located, the staff extremely helpful, delicious breakfast and very spacious room. We got an upgrade to a superior room without even asking for anything... We were also able to get free bikes to visit the Parco Arceologico Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Ortygia, it's the best!

Centrally located hotel, very close to the main piazza. The hotel has a little restaurant cafe with outdoor seating, which is great. The staff is friendly, and they have valet parking if you drive in. Be sure to watch out for their welcome email, which has driving directions to the hotel, which are kind of necessary for the streets in Ortigia.

Located in a must see town. Difficult to drive to the property, although management gladly parked our rental car and brought our luggage to the hotel. Travelled with my wife and two kids. Very large room, although it is an old property and a bit dated furniture, etc.. Tiny balcony which was a bit disappointing our first night in Sicily. Great breakfast. Beautiful outdoor patio.

We stayed at the hotel from 29 August to 4 September as we were supporting GB at the Canoe Polo World Championships that were held in the marina between Syracuse and Ortigia. Our main requirement was to have a hotel centrally located within a 10 minute walk of the pitches . This charming hotel with friendly staff met our requirements. The room had a safe and mini bar but no tea making facilities. A previous review suggested that they would supply a kettle but this was not the case. As we were st... Read more

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights commencing 28th August 2016. We arrived at Catania Airport pretty late and were picked up by taxi which we had arranged via the hotel and on arrival at reception we received a warm welcome from Francesco who took us to our very large garden suite & spa (room 108). The hotel is located bang in the centre of the beautiful island of Ortigia next to the Duomo. One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast at Monzu (the hotel bar/restaurant) on the ... Read more

Stayed here for 4 nights, it was a fantastic base to explore Syracuse. The hotel is right on the central piazza, with many bars, cafes and restaurants a short walk away. Despite the central location the hotel was quiet at night. Our room (109) was a good size with nice high ceilings. The bold colour scheme in the bathroom really works, and adds to the character of the hotel. Breakfast was great and the attached restaurant did good evening meals.

This lovely Italian hotel is the perfect spot to explore Ortagia and Siracusa. Right in the heart of the island backing onto the Duomo and its square. The staff are genuinely helpful and welcoming and has a lovely family style atmosphere. Rooms are well appointed, airy and most have a view. Breakfast is excellent, continental in style with copious fruit options, some novel such as prickly pear. I would recommend contacting the hotel directly for best rates and availability. This is the place to stay if you visit Ortigia. Just off the Duomo and with huge breakfast spread. Clean, comfortable and very helpful staff. Does have car parking but expensive (EU20/day) and impossible to reach by car due to pedestrian only roads. The top attic rooms are not so good if you are looking for views.
