Many factors contribute to outstanding accommodations, the hotel itself, its' staff location, service and cleanliness - Villa Oriana Relais has it all. The rooms are large with spectacular views of the Bay of Naples, the staff is anticipatory of your needs and truly treats you as an honored guest. Care and presentation is taken with the bountiful breakfast. All in all this hotel is charming, only 7 rooms so book it if it's available.

Very welcoming and exceptionally friendly staff, clean modern spacious room with view of the sea from the adjacent terrace. Easy 20 minute walk to centre of Sorrento and a bit further on to the port. Breakfast on the terrace wonderful with delicious home made products. Highly recommend if you prefer to retire to a quiet and attract retreat after busy days sightseeing.

This is like staying with a warm, friendly family who make you feel welcome from the second you step inside. Maria and her son have created quite simply a special place to stay, with amazing staff that are attentive without being intrusive and who are effortlessly and spontaneously helpful. We loved the atmosphere of this small hotel, set amongst citrus trees with stunning views. We booked the basic garden view room which was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfasts were absolutely outstanding with a huge selection of home baking. The free, easy and secure parking was a big bonus.

Our room was smart, clean and comfortable, with a private terrace. The highlight was the marvellous freshly baked cakes, pastries and bread served each morning at breakfast. The views over the Bay of Naples are fantastic and the roof terrace would have been wonderful, if only the weather had been better! The staff were unfailingly helpful and delightful.

We completely enjoyed our stay at Villa Oriana Relais! Our cute room had a sweet little patio where we could enjoy the smell of all the lemon trees from the surrounding orchard and garden. The breakfasts were amazing! Fresh baked breads and cakes made from ingredients grown on the premises were served on the patio overlooking the Mediterranean and Mt Vesuvius...just breathtaking! But probably the best part of Villa Oriana is the owner and the staff of adorable girls that work in the Villa. T... Read more

My mother and I traveled 2 weeks through the Amalfi Coast. This B&B was a highlight. The owner is a delight and welcomed us so warmly (and with amazing home cooked treats). The views are fabulous here too. Our room was large and had a lovely wraparound patio, which was perfect for watching sunsets in the comfort of our room. The location was superb, being just away from the main street (a heart opening walk from a old alley), but close enough to walk into town. The only thing we wish we had mo... Read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this small villa up in the hills in Sant'Agnello. Upon arrival the owner helped us with our luggage through the lemon-tree lined entrance. Whilst they checked-us in we were given lemon cake and fresh lemonade with a view - Mount Vesuvius! Our room was huge and had an electric shutter to block the light out at night! A lot of people are concerned about staying so far outside the city centre because they think they'll pay more in taxis to get to places. There are ... Read more

Stayed here for one night while visiting Pompeii. The Villa was not easy to find and it is a good mile and a half from Sorrento's main plaza. It is up on the hills and it is a good trek going down to the main street via a narrow trail (I do not recommend doing this at night time). The Villa's reception is spectacular flanked by a long entrance driveway through a lemon grove. Maria, the owner, inherited this villa and runs it with all the warmth one could hope. We stayed as a family at Oriana - we thought we were in an annexe adjacent, but were in a separate building up the road! This worked for us as a family, the apartment was incredibly spacious and freshly renovated to high standards. Being ground floor we had access to the garden and incredible views across the bay. The kitchen is a little basic and not quite up to the standards of the rest of the lodging - but then they are high standards. Bed linen is high quality, bathrooms with rainfall shower... Read more

When we arrived they told us that we were staying in a suite that was a bit of a walk from the main building. Nothing is too much trouble for them and everything is done with a smile and a cheerfulness that truly comes from the heart. Booking trips and restaurants, offering advice, a glass of homemade lemonade on the wonderful sun terrace. The hotel is situated overlooking the Bay with a marvellous view of Vesuvius from the breakfast terrace. A simply magical place to enjoy the best hotel breakfast we have ever been o... Read more

My wife and I stayed at Villa Oriana Relais at the start of our recent trip to the Sorrento Coast and Amalfi Coast. We found this property on Trip Advisor. It did not disappoint. Its a small place - just 7 bedrooms, but it has been in the same family for 3 generations. In fact, we were given what had been the childhood bedroom of the current owner, Maria. For American's, think of this as a B&B. We don't usually like those, but this was great. They welcomed us with a nice refreshing drink on... Read more

You cannot find a hotel with a more beautiful setting: perched on a hill overlooking the bay of Naples, surrounded by olive and lemon trees and old mossy stone walls. There are hydrangea bushes, bowers of grapes on the vine, lavender and rosemary growing everywhere. But to get to it you have quite a hike or a steep taxi bill. It's a trade off and you have to decide what's more important: do you like being in the middle of town or do you enjoy hanging out at your hotel. They do have shuttles that... Read more

We were fortunate to have chosen the Villa Oriana. We knew from the moment we walked through the gate and walked down the path and were welcomed at the door by Melena. She was warm and very informative about the area. The view is spectacular and only a short walk into town. Maria, the owner baked fresh everyday for a breakfast buffet that was beyond anyplace I have ever stayed. Maria and her staff can't do enough for you and make you feel right at home. I would recommend this place to anyo... Read more

We spent two weeks in Southern Italy celebrating our 25th anniversary. I'm so glad we spent the last four days in Sorrento enjoying the peaceful beauty of Villa Oriana. It is as other travelers have described: gorgeous grounds, amazing food and incredible service. We actually rented the apartment above the main house and it was spectacular. We had a huge full kitchen, a giant living room and large bedroom and bath. The private terrace overlooking the sea is indescribable. Maria even left us an... Read more

Where else can you have fresh baked pastries every morning, along side a selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, and yogurts, all served with freshly squeezed orange juice, an egg or two cooked as you specify. All after a restful night's sleep in a cozy room. Top it all off with a spectacular view and you have Villa Oriana Relais. Book it now!

Wonderful place to stay in Sorrento...Up a winding, small road to reach the property and then through a "grove" of lemon trees to the hotel. The B&B is like a small, boutique hotel very welcoming and attentive staff. We were greeted by staff when we checked in with a Lemon drink prepared by Maria, the owner. Then shown to our room (the Junior Suite) with a lovely balcony (the only negative to our entire stay is there is a large tree that blocks a good portion of the view from the balcony to th... My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful few days stay at the Villa Oriana. Maria and her staff are wonderful and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast here is something else with a good selection of food and especially the cakes which are cooked fresh early every morning by Maria. Having breakfast on the balcony you have a beautiful view over the bay of Naples and of Vesuvius. The only downside is that anyone with mobility problems might have difficulties as our room was down se... Read more

Room and bathroom was spacious and very clean. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and enjoyed with spectacular views of the bay. All of the people were so helpful with recommendations for tours, restaurants, transportation and so willing to make arrangements. And they were just delightful to converse with! It is a bit of a walk into Sorrento which did not bother us at all and many restaurants provided transportation to/from the Villa. Highly recommend Villa Oriana Relais!

I would concur with Judi E's review below. There are many testaments to the strengths of Villa Oriana in terms of the delightful setting and views; warm, friendly and helpful staff and owner; huge amount of effort that goes into the breakfasts; arrangements for transport to certain restaurants, etc. It is certainly a place to which we would be happy to return, but, at ?300 a night in October, expectations should be very high. Our room, adjacent to the entrance, was bright and roomy (alth... Read more
