Just returned from a week at this hotel, idea for us as I don't like crowds. Up in the mountains just outside Sorrento, away from the hustle and bustle of the town with the most amazing views. This was our first trip to Sorrento and after staying here it won't be our last. Staff were wonderful, nothing too much trouble for them, lovely room with a balcony, clean and bright. Free shuttle bus to town hourly, can't wait to go back next year

Great stay. Very nice accommodations .Friendly and helpful staff. Prompt free bus service into town. Excellent "vue" overlooking the city and the bay. Dining room was nice, and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed for a night in Sorrento with the family. Simple furnishings for the room but you don't come to this place to stay in the room. Beautiful view from the balcony of the town. A shuttle brings people down to the town and back every hour which would be fine except it started raining and there was no shade at the meet up point. Great staff. Very friendly. One of the waiters at the restaurant welcomes everyone in the morning during breakfast.

Very clean, Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was out of this world. It is up a mountain but don't let that put you off as they lay on a shuttle bus which takes you into Sorrento, It's picks up and drops off on the hour, from as early as 7 am til 11.30pm, so you can explore, eat out etc. Spectacular view of the town

Well all i can say is this hotel deserves an award....an OSCAR in the tourism world!!! I have just returned from a trip with my dad (20-27th May) staying in this wonderful hotel (room 561) Beautiful location away from the hectic town and CRAZY drivers of sorrento, with views of the coast and Vesuvius from the dinning room. Easy access to town via free bus right outside the door. I cannot thank and praise the staff enough for their hospitality, kindness and general uplifting vibe around the plac... Read more

Stayed here the first two weeks of May 2016 in room 355. The view was outstanding, I mean "really outstanding"! We had the view from our balcony of Sorrento below and Naples/Vesuvius. The room was excellent, had a fridge, TV, air con etc, bathroom excellent with the usual complimentary items and double bed, clean sheets and daily maid service. This hotel is classed as "centrally located" however it's not. It's a beautiful small hotel high up in the hills, and takes a good 15/20 minutes by shuttle from sorrento town. It's clean, well maintained and the food is beautifully presented. The staff are friendly. Free wifi and if you pay for a room with a balcony they are a good size and the housekeeper does a good job. The only downsides are; pool is tiny and unheated, it's freezing. So it's pointless having it as nobody can go in. Also the... Read more

We stayed here as a family group of 10, and really couldn't fault the place. My parents had been visiting Sorrento for years and always stay here. It is a good 20 min courtesy bus ride out of the town or a 30 Euro taxi, but this is just what you need after the hustle and bustle of the town. The hotel is absolutely spotless, great staff, nice food, lovey pool and area, I honestly couldn't fault it. Do yourself a favour and stay there!!

We booked the hotel based on the reviews we read before coming (we are staying here currently) and before I make my comments I have to say most things are correct. Hotel is clean, shuttle bus works as hotel is quite far up the hill but the shuttle bus does indeed ferry you up and down to Sorrento on the hour, except early afternoon. Now some early comments as we arrived yesterday........ Receptionist (woman) was surly and abrupt. No 'where are you from, long journey etc) and very matter of fact.... Read more

Friendly courteous staff at this great family-run hotel. Our room was superb with all anticipated amenities and a lovely view over the bay. The dining room service and arrangements were excellent, as was the daily menu. The pool and sun terrace were wonderful, as was the pleasant reception and sitting area. The shuttle bus service was a real bonus and always ran close to the advertised time. All in all a brilliant venue, and we would not hesitate to return to it if going back to Sorrento.

We stayed here in June for our honeymoon. The staff are excellent and so hard working. The food is lovely and portions are plentiful. The restaurant staff can't do enough for you and Tony (don't know if that's his real name) is very funny. The room was always kept clean and beds made daily. We regularly used the coach down into Sorrento and this was an integral part of enjoying our holiday having the regular trips down and back. Our sixth visit to this family run hotel which we now consider to be our home from home in Sorrento. The management and every one of the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The only negative point is, surprisingly for an Italian hotel, that there is not a dress code in the dining room for the evening dinner. It does not seem correct to have smartly attired waiters serving people who are dressed in shorts and tee shirts but maybe this is just a reflection of falling standards and people being... Read more

The Vue D'Or is situated up in the hills above Sorrento Town so you need the Hotel shuttle or local bus to get into town.
