Excellent location. Train and bus 5 min away.went to Naples, toledo, almalfi, capri island, Pompeii. All accessible by public transport.Dont bother paying for tours.Hotel clean, staff pleasant, food very nice. The only comment is you get one Internet access and it very slow anyway. Did Pompeii ruins and Herculanium - best early morning before the heat. Overall good hotel in a good location

LA Meridiana is a very good, small hotel with friendly staff. It's excellently positioned within walking distance to the old town and to public transport on which Pompeii, the Amalfi coast etc are easily accessible. We had a view of the bay from our 5th floor room and of Vesuvius from the roof terrace. The food was very good with a choice of starters, mains and desserts in the evening. Breakfast was more limited but satisfied our needs. The room was spacious and clean with a towel change every da... Read more

We had a great time we had at the hotel La Merdiana. The food and service were excellent, and the hotel is conveniently placed for the centre of Sorrento. A nice cut through the community orchard to the high street, lovely local bakery, with the most delicious foods for lunch. Very handy for public transport and the boat service to Capri or the Amalfi coast. Can't fault it at all.

Great wee Hotel, really good friendly reception staff, nothing was too much trouble, from a late night beer to directions. Brilliant. Place is spotless, comfy beds, towels changed everyday. Breakfast is a bit 1970's but gets you off the ground. Location is the real winner, next to a fab lemon grove and a police station so very safe and a relaxing 5/10 minute walk to Tasso Square. We'll be back.

This hotel is walking distance to the old town. Some rooms have a good view of the bay of Naples but they can be noisy. There is limited free parking on site. Wi-Fi access is limited to one device and that can be a hassle (hotel should correct this). Free breakfast was fine with lots of choices. The place was clean. But if you are there in May and its hot you are out of luck since the air conditioning is off. If you are going to Sorrento plan ahead since there are better choices for the same cos... Read more

We stayed two weeks at this good 3 star hotel. The reception staff were most pleasant and helpful. They also tended the bar which was in the reception area and after two days, we didn't need to ask for our order, they remembered. The hotel is very well kept and clean and the chef is very good with most dishes. My only wish was because it was so warm, a fridge in the room would have been good and also air conditioning which I believe is activated in the middle of June. We did have a very pleasant... I can't fault our week's stay at the Meridiana. From the friendly check in we felt very welcome. The room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the lemon and orange grove and to the right the sea. It was very clean with a change of towels every day. The restaurant was staffed with the same people morning and night, who were so friendly and welcoming. The food was not a disappointment, we ate everything we ordered at breakfast time which was off a varied menu with adequate choices including vegetaria... Read more

La Meridiana is well located convenient for the airport bus and the station and down a quiet street. There are also some nice restaurants nearby. Our room was excellent, we were upgraded to a balcony room and had a fabulous view of the next door lemon grove and the sea. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. What lets the hotel down is penny pinching, on check in we were told that only one device came with free wifi, others would cost ?5, more than roa... Read more

I have recently returned from a week's stay at this hotel and it is a good value 3 star hotel with hardworking friendly staff. The location is excellent - quiet but a short stroll to all amenities. Food is average; breakfast could be improved by providing crispy bacon instead of the anaemic sloppy bacon that is served up and a variation on the dayglo yellow scrambled egg would be welcome! Although the decor is fresh and clean, the pictures on the walls look ancient and faded - perhaps some br... Read more

Recently stayed for a week at this pleasant little hotel in Sorrento. We had a twin room on the third floor with a decent view of the next door hotel's pool! The room was comfortable and clean, although it took a while to discover that to switch on the electricity you had to put the door key/card in a slot near the door. We went with Thomson Holidays on a half board basis. Breakfasts were varied, although not keen on very fatty bacon, and evening meals were 3 courses and more than adequate. Wine... Read more

The rooms had excellent air conditioning which made the mid 30's temperatures bearable at night. HOTEL LA MERIDIANA was a pleasant 4 night stay in Sorrento. Convenient location, a short walk to the historic center. Clean and comfortable. The roof terrace has very nice views. The breakfast was typical Italian with many items to choose from. But Wifi was for only one device at a time per room with a cost of ?5 for extra devices. There were 3 of us so we had to take turns using WiFi.

We stayed there from July 30 to August 2. Conveniently located, few minutes walk from Railway and the main square. Front desk staff was good, Rosalba made sure whatever we have requested. Taxi service was on time. Though we have opted for room with balcony with sea view, but it was small. No mini bar or tea/coffeemaker in room. They do not provide laundry service. Bathroom was small. Still I recommend this to traveller.

Just returned from our first visit to Italy, where we stayed for a week at the Hotel La Meridiana in Sorrento. We arrived around midnight to be greeted by a very pleasant night security man, Vincenzo, who checked us in and informed us there was a cold platter awaiting us in the room and said that the roof terrace, which normally closes at 10pm was open late for a fireworks display due to there being a festival on.
