Having spent a week here we have nothing but praise for the way we were treated, as were all their guests. Every morning we were greated with smiles and a cup of espresso just as we like it by Nina. Some days there were groups and breakfast would be served in another location owned by the hotel. Our room was larger than we expected and the shower had good pressure and never ran out of hot water. The room was not well served by wi fi but we were happy to go to reception and use it there. The... Read more

We stayed in this hotel on our way to Capri. An hotel can be cheap and simple but that should not mean disgustingly filthy. The hotel Faro is revoltingly dirty. Stay away from this place. Everything is dirty from rooms to bedsheets to bathroom , lobby, lift, dining room.

Loved staying in this beautiful hotel during my tour of Italy with my granddaughter's high school Italian class. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room had the feel of a cabin on a seafaring vessel. And we had a ‚??balcony‚?? that was carved into the stone wall.

I stayed here as a teacher with a group of 46 students. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone from the manager, receptionist, housekeeper, and restaurant staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was adequate, and we were served 3 course evening meals. Rooms were serviced daily with towels changed and beds made. We stayed four nights and my room was cleaned twice in this time. The only criticisms are - lift was slow and very small, marble floors... This is a small family run hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but very clean and the bathrooms are also clean but can be very small in some rooms. The breakfast is buffet style and consists of eggs, cheese, ham, cereals, rolls, fruit, yoghurt and a large selection of cakes. The hotel position isn't ideal but there are several rest down in the port area if you don't want to go up into the town.

WiFi was only available in the reception area. The room I shared with my two friends was tiny with barely any floor space. The bathroom barely had room for two people and the three beds were pushed together at the back wall to create a hellish triple bed which you couldn't get off of without disturbing others. There was also only one storage area which was a small cupboard. The rooms also stank. Our room was on the top floor which meant we had to climb many flights of stairs (It was not one flig... A friendly staff and great location. The only issue I had was with parking because it wasn't well explained when I booked that you must park up the hill and walk down, and it is not free. But it wasn't the most expensive parking around. They have a nice breakfast spread in the morning.

Nice location down on the waterfront right near the port. Cute little family run establishment with a lovely feel. Some rooms were small but others were a great size. We had a school group and the kids loved their rooms. Breakfast was nice and easy. It's a walk to the main part of town up a number of stairs but the bus your luggage up and down for you so that's a great help. Good stop on our trip. Enjoyed Sorrento!

Hotel il faro was basic but good enough if you plan to be out and about all day. In some rooms the showers leaked but not a huge disaster. The staff were Kind and always happy to help. Food was basic but nice enough Quite a nice hotel would maybe think about doing it again.

We stayed at the Hotel Il Faro for one week as a couple. Our room was on the fifth floor with a great view over the harbour, the bay of Naples, and Vesuvius. Room was very clean with plenty of storage, TV, air-conditioning, and shower room with a four piece suite and a drying area for swim-wear/towels. The shower was powerful and our towels were changed every day. The hairdryer wasn't the most powerful but it was OK. We only used the room to shower and sleep, so the lack of balcony didn't bother... We booked this hotel through a package (hotel & air) through expedia. We have been to Sorrento many times and this was going to be our first stay at the Porto. We arrived at the hotel in the late a.m. and we did not expect our room to be ready, but they said it was ready and we were very happy. We just wanted to unpack and hit the beach. The room was overlooking the street and small (4th floor). There was plenty of storage space for a small room. They shut the AC off everyday when the ma... Read more

We stayed for 10 nights ( 2 friends ). When we arrived it was much better then we expected and exceptionally clean. We had third floor room .Room was very clean with plenty of storage, TV, air-conditioning, and shower. All marble floors and proper wooden furniture. The shower was powerful and our towels were changed every day. The room temperature was always at a comfortable 20C as the air con was on most of the time. The air con was also very quiet so we did not notice it was on.Just outside ou... Read more

Located in Port Sorento! The staff is always ready to help! Beautiful delicious breakfast! I recommend for people who want to travel to the island on the coast of Positano (Positano, Amalfi, Ravello). A wonderful restaurant!

we had a room on the 4th floor which was fab compared to our previous hotel, but be prepared for a hard walk up to the town or pay a Euro to go up in the lift . didn't have a room with a view but they accommodated us at the last minute for a reasonable price. Paolo was extremely helpful to us , the other staff were all friendly too. We didn't have a sea view or balcony , but there is a sun terrace with plenty of beds and chairs.

Drove in from Rome and found this gem! Great location , right on the water. If you love marinas and dont mind a hike up to the city center this place is for you! Place has valet parking and free breakfast Wifi does NOT work in your room :( only in lobby . Our room was big , updated private bathroom . No view or window. But once you get outside to the water it's fantastic

If you're looking just for a tiny room to sleep in and good location, that's the right hotel for you. The room was very tight with no see view, bed is not comfy at all, bathroom is the tightest I saw in any hotel before, breakfast is very poor. Staff were very nice and helpful tho. Basically try to avoid your stay their unless you wanna sacrifice your comfortable staying. It's located near the ferries tho coming from Naples.

Great position on the port and easy access to the main town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sadly that was the good part of the review. Great size room overlooking the port but very dated and the bathroom needed a really good clean. Breakfast was very limited- okay if you like banana yogurt! If you are like me and rely on a hairdryer take your own, even a travel one woild be 100 times better than what they call a hairdryer! Bath towels were more like large cotton tea towels, had to use the ha... Read more

What a fantastic stay we had here. Myself my husband and my mum 7/10 - 21/10 and I can't fault anything. The hotel staff are so warm and welcoming and were very polite. The restaurant staff were also very good and the food was lovely and fresh and well presented. Many thanks to all the staff that made our stay a memorable one. If we come back to Sorrento we would definitely stay here again. Oh and I would like to say a very big thank you for the bottle of wine on our last night. I would highly r... Read more

we arrived early but our rooms were already available, we had ask for 1 double and 1 twin but was given 2 doubles (reason to keep use next to each other, fair point) we said we wanted 1 room to be a twin and within 10 minutes it was fixed. The quality of the rooms are about 3 star, the meals are about 4 star the staff are 5 star+ Location of hotel is on the port and very handy for the ferry to Capri (a must to visit) or other destinations but it is a bit of a climb to Sorrento centre but that p... Hotel il Faro is a great find for an Italian hotel. If you are looking for an American style hotel, this isn't it. If you are looking for a more authentic local experience, this is great place. I stayed here in July 2016. Like many buildings in the area, the hotel is built into the side of the cliff. The back wall of the hotel isn't a wall. It's a painted cliff. It's pretty cool! To get there from the Naples airport, take the ferry. The hotel is steps from the port. It's a little more difficult ... Read more

We stayed here for 5 days until November 3rd. It was really great! The rooms were good if a little small, but I was out all day every day so it didn't really matter -, everything stuck me as very Italian (mind you, I've never been to Italy before. But it all felt very warm and traditional?). The food was quite good (I especially liked the pasta and the ice cream) and the staff were absolutely amazing. They were the best bit of my stay - they were so kind and polite and lovely! The only minor th... Read more
