Had a room on the 4th floor, it had a small patio outside not a balcony, which was OK plenty of room if you wanted sit out there. Did think room was a little bit on the damp side, could be just the start of the season? Had to wash all the unworn clothes on return, but otherwise room was large and comfortable. Food was good and plentiful, nice to have waiter service. Staff friendly. Bar prices are high, 9euros for a pint of beer, 3.50 for a pot of tea. Views are really excellent, they make th... Read more

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Sorrento, made especially wonderful by this hotel and its staff. We had a non-sea view room which was absolutely fine as almost everywhere in the hotel as an amazing view, probably the best in Sorrento. It's true what other reviewers say, the restaurant staff are amazing, as is the food. Our room was spotless (some UK hotels could learn a thing or two). This was a very last minute holiday, it was the best we have had. Traveling from Naples airport to the hotel took 100 minutes, you got to see the different areas on route. The hotel is wonderful, we didn't have a sea view, but you don't need it because you can see it everywhere, late afternoon we could set on on balcony enjoying the sun. Everywhere has flowers, plants etc so you have a view to look at. Staff are so friendly, food wonderful, evening music was nice in the background. Rooms v... Read more

My partner and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Grand Hotel President. We booked a superior room with sea views on half board through Thomson. We started off on a bad note as my partner's bag didn't arrive at the airport. Another couple were also missing a bag. Thomson handed us a pre-written sheet of the next steps that would be taken to find the bag. They were very relaxed about the situation as if this happens very regularly. Just back from a great week in Sorrento where we stayed at the Grand Hotel President. It's a lovely hotel with lots of open space and beautiful inlaid furniture (for which Sorrento is famous. There's even a very interesting Inlaid Furniture Museum in town which I would recommend) Our room was at the back of the hotel and was quiet except when the shuttle bus accelerated up the drive! Lovely location overlookingthe Bay of Naples. We booked through Thomson and paid extra for sea view. We were given a room with just a small slice of sea view but the hotel moved us after a few nights. Rooms are not very well sound proofed but comfortable. Just bear in mind that the hotel (and the view) is north facing so no sun during the day. Likewise the pool is mostly in shade in October. The best thing is the food which is excellent in variety and quality. The dining room is very well organi... Read more

A lovely hotel. Very pretty and well cared for, with attractive decor but the stand out point is the view from all of the sea facing areas. The hotel stands on the edge of a cliff overlooking the town one way and over the bay to Vesuvius the other. This means that it is a bit of a trek into town although there is a shuttle bus laid on, but the timings mean you have to plan your day a bit. Tony the bus driver is so sweet, he can't do enough to help offering useful tips, information and giving out... Read more

We booked this hotel for 3 nights in Sorrento during our travels through Amalfi coast. The main reason was because it had parking and wasn't in the busy city centre. Hotel offers good free shuttle bus service so you can use it every day. The rooms were nice and comfortable, we also had great sea view which was a bonus, breakfast selection was really good. Overall good stay and would recommend this hotel.

I have recently returned from a holiday in Sorrento. The Grand President was a perfect place to stay - fabulous views, out of town (so nice and peaceful), and offers a regular courtesy bus service into Sorrento. The hotel facilities were fabulous, and the service could not be faulted. The food was scrumptious too (and lots of it!)

So far this hotel has had a very considerate exceptional standard of service. Every time you order a drink it comes with an array of nibbles, the staff are polite bright and well presented. The room is clean beautiful aspect and lovely fresh towels and toiletries. This evening to top the level of service we brought a kettle and have been using plastic cups; on returning to the room this evening it has been serviced with two ceramic mugs coffee additional milks etc have been left in the room for ... My husband, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality offered by this hotel. I read the reviews before we booked and was delighted to meet Antonio and his friendly staff in the dining room - they really do provide an excellent service. The bar staff were equally friendly and we also enjoyed a massage in the health spa. The view from our bedrooms was stunning. The hotel is also a good base to visit Herculaneum, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and Vesuvius all of which we did.

Stayed for a week in October, lovely hotel, good location - 20 mins walk into town or catch the fun bus with Tony the driver from the hotel Service was good although I can imagine that during the summer season, meal times may be a bit slow on service, due to the number of people in the hotel Prices at the bar were fairly similar to what you pay in the town (although there are a few bars in town who have drink price promotions on, if you look around) The room - so disappointed - we were put in... Situated high above the town with fantastic views. A courtesy bus takes you back and forth to the town, however it's a pleasant downhill 30 minutes walk but bus back is a must. We had a superior room which was disappointing as it didn't live up to brochure statements. Bathroom very small with shower bidet and toilet. Unfortunately the fixings were loose - shower door runners not quite right and all in need of updating. Food on half board with options, however if you were anything other than sp... Read more

Recently returned home from Sorrento, which I call my second home. It feels right everytime I return and a part of me stays behind. What I love about this hotel is: for one it has charming staff, great service and probably the greatest Rooftop View you could wish for. Me and wife returned for light drinks and to catch the sunset. We visited this beautiful hotel for our honeymoon September 2016. It is in a wonderful settingl with amazing views over sorrento and of Mount Vesuvius. The restaurant was beautiful with waiter service and a wide choice for everyone. My husband very much appreciated the extensive variety of fish. The restaurant and bar staff were exceptional, very professional but friendly at the same time. The shuttle bus worked very well and we will definitely be visiting here again.

We've had two fantastic holidays at the Grand Hotel President. It's the perfect location to combine seeing the beautiful and interesting sights around Sorrento (Capri, Amalfi Coast, Vesuvius, Pompei and Sorrento itself) with a bit of relaxation by the pool. What makes this hotel special is a combination of the fabulous views and setting plus the quality of service from all the staff. Rooms are simply decorated but comfortable - if you get the chance, go for the sea view rooms, it's worth it. ... Read more

This hotel is located about 4 km from the town centre (by road) up on a hill giving a splendid panoramic view of the town of Sorrento. If you are driving the road takes you through a winding stretch up the hill and then down a bit before you reach the parking area in front. Reception is located in a very impressive hall down a few steps from the car park. There is also a ramp available. Few steps above the reception there is bar with a spacious lounge and a terrace are, all giving a stunning vie... Read more
