On the plus side it's only a 10 minute stroll to the town centre, the food is excellent and the staff are helpful and very friendly. On the minus side we were put on the first floor in the annexe and the room certainly wasn't 4 star quality. The wifi is poor also. However I strongly disagree with a reviewer who claimed the hotel was racist and absolutely confirm that this is not the case. An Asian family who we became friendly with stay at Flora every year and were treated like royalty. A min... Read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week,it is central to all amenities, the staff make you feel very welcome and nothing is to much trouble, the food is varied and good, all in all a pleasant stay at this hotel,we would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice hotel . The only downfall was our room overlooked a very busy road, with doors closed you couldn't hear the noise of the traffic so not a major problem.

its true you need to book a room with a sea view to get the best from this location, but there is so much more that's good about this hotel, best of all the staff are wonderful, helpful and very friendly, its in a great location for walking to the main square or going down to the marina, the hotel has a lovely atmosphere with an Italian feel, every meal in the restaurant is special, you look out of the window to see Vesuvius on the right, the bay of Naples in front of you and the island of Capri... Stayed at this hotel for 1 week as part of a Thompson package deal. Excellent value for money. Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful and made a real effort to make our stay relaxed. Rooms and hotel were spotless. There is only internet access in the lobby which was not great and only one English speaking TV channel, but that wasn't a major bother. Sorrento is a lovely place to visit, recommend a boat trip to Capri and a visit to Pompeii, lot's of ... Read more

After reading several reviews of this hotel I went with a open mind and was pleasantly surprised, the hotel is on the main road which sounds daunting but the noise is not really that bad our room was on the fourth floor overlooking the road the room was clean and spacious better than we expected with the sheets and towels changed daily, the staff at reception were very helpful answering any questions with a smile, some reviews suggested the food and portion sizes were a bit on the small size nothi... We found the room very nice but had a balcony overlooking the street it was very noisy and you couldn't sit on it because of fumes from the traffic as we like to sit out on the balcony and read it spoiled the whole holiday for us. The food was fine nothing to shout home about but acceptable the best night was the Gala night it was very good. The pool was freezing no umbrellas to keep the sun off you and I don't like sitting in the sun the beds weren't all that comfortable either but there were a... Read more

The hotel is quaint but fab but you do need to pay for a room with pool view. The waiters are fantastic and it is good to be able to walk into town rather than catch a shuttle . Would recommend , this was our third visit to same hotel and we do not normally go anywhere twice before. Sad to be home, missing sun ice cream and Italian way of life

My husband and I enjoyed a 7 night stay here in June and we would both highly recommended it. The location is great, a few minutes stroll into the heart of Sorrento. Even closer is the bus and train station which we used to visit Pompeii, Amalfi and Positano (definitely worth a visit). The rooms are a little on the small side and could possibly do with a little renovation but the tiled floors are charming and we had a lovely balcony over-looking the pool and sea. The rooms at the front of th... Read more

I stayed here with my mum for a week. I could not fault the hotels food, it was delicious, however my mum was vegetarian and she did not have many options. The hotel is situated close to the city centre as well and public transport. I probably would not go back, as i did not find their mattresses that comfortable to sleep on. Overall, a very friendly experience.

This is a lovely hotel, nice central location and perfect as a for a base for getting around Sorrento with a five minute walk to the main square and the station. One bit of advice we were given before our trip was to make sure we went for a sea view room but unfortunately they were already fully booked! Initially we were given a room overlooking the main road to the rear (80 I think)...very noisy with traffic right through the night. We then moved to 92...just off the reception area. This ti... We recently returned from Hotel Flora after a weeks stay, All staff were outstanding and it is difficult to pick out any individual. Restaurant staff were amazing always smiling and helpful. We had room 218 which was at the back so never troubled by road noise and nice view of pool and sea. Our cleaner was Rosemary who is English but has lived in Italy for 35 years. She kept the room very clean and was exceedingly helpful with advice on buses, trains etc. Pool is very good size and clea... Read more

The Hotel is situated on the main road that leads to the Piazza square, nice steady 5 - 7 min walk from Sorrento's train station, we stayed for 4 nights, when we arrived we were told that we can have a choice of rooms because someone has just cancelled? the manager showed us a very basic room that was very dark due to the window view of the next doors hotel wall. This hotel is an utter disgrace. We arrived here on the 19th September 2016. We were so horrified at the state of the hotel that we were dreading to see our room. We were speechless and could not believe the state of the room. It was dirty and smelly the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould the taps were green and unclean and I could go on and on. Stayed here early September to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary and were very disappointed. There is nothing "Grand" about the hotel. It is a sixties block right on an extremely busy main road. No way is it a four star hotel. We could not sit on the balcony because of the exhaust fumes from the road - not to mention the noise. The Grand Hotel in Sorrento is beautifully well kept hotel that once would have been glorious. The hotel has a great location about 5 minutes from the town centre. The rooms are nice rather small, nothing special. The Hotel pool is lovely, as is the bar downstairs as a great place to relax. The breakfast buffet and restaurant at the hotel was also top quality. Overall it was a greatly enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel.

We have just returned from 11 nights at the Grand Hotel Flora. Weather was very good until yesterday when it poured. We would happily stay at the Flora again, we chose it because of its location which is very handy for Tasso Square , the train and bus station. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was quiet. We arrived at the Grand Hotel Flora after a trip on the busy and tortuous Circum Versuviana only to be told the hotel was overbooked and we were being relocated to an apartment - not happy! The apartment was actually very nice but it's difficult to conduct a pre-arranged inspection visit (prior to traveling next year with a school party) when you're not accommodated in the hotel!
