Hotel Grand Capodimonte is really lovely and peacefully located, but only a short walk from Sorrento centre and its varied shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel food was very good and the extensive breakfast menu catered for all tastes. All the hotel staff were unfailingly cheerful, attentive and helpful. Our sea view bedroom matched our expectations for comfort, facilities and cleanliness. However, a heated towel rail would have been a bonus. The views from most of the public rooms are gloriou... The Grand Hotel Capodimonte was an excellent choice (after consulting Tripadvisor) for our weeks stay. Conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Room large and clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent throughout our stay (half board) with a very good choice and very good staff. It was my partners birthday during our stay and we were going to find a restaurant for a meal on her birthday but the food was so good in the hotel we stayed there instead. The position of this hotel is excellent at the end of the town and nice and quiat. It forms two parts a large indoor dinning room and a second larger dinning room with a covered out side terrace. A beautiful five stage swimming pool with sun bathing areas. I had a suppier room with some very fine light wood matching furniture and a balcony over looking the bay, town and mountain views. All the staff were fantastic and friendly. Dining room on a veranda which could be chilly in the evenings but food and service excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff who couldn't be faulted. There`s not a lot I can add to my previous review .it is still as good nothing has changed and it is really very good but seeing as this review requires more words and on a lighter note when you visit this hotel look for little girl DIUCY I think I have spelled it right she is one of the head waiters ,very efficient but I have a feeling that she does not feel comfortable with male guests so for those guys with a little mischief in them say hello

Perfect location on the edge of town. Attention to detail at the hotel itself is obvious and outstanding. Pleasant and helpful staff. AMAZING grounds. Splurge and stay in a prestige room on the upper level for a huge room, rooftop deck and gorgeous view! Wonderful breakfast is included. Pool is beautiful and well maintained. Only disappointment was a very expensive (and in my opinion unnecessary) daily parking fee.

This hotel is located on the hillside of Sorrento, meaning that every room has glorious, panoramic views of Sorrento and Vesuvius. The staff were outstanding, rooms were luxurious, with a private balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples. Breakfast was delicious, with a chef cooking eggs specifically to your liking. The breakfast room was gorgeously decorated, with lots of windows making the most of the breathtaking view. I cannot wait to revisit this beautiful hotel sometime soon.

On the downside I had food poisoning on the 3rd day, I have no idea where I got it from and I felt very ill for the next 3 days so unfortunately lost a big chunk of my 10 day holiday. We made our booking at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte because my parents had stayed there many years ago and raved about it. It made me determined that if I were ever to stay in Sorrento this would be my hotel of choice. Sorrento itself is ideally located for trips along the Amalfi Coast (where we visited Positano, Amalfi and Ravello) as well as the archeological sites of Pompeii and Heraculaneum. My wife and I just spent two weeks of vacation in this hotel and enjoyed every minute of our stay. A well organized hotel. It was crowded but all services went smoothly. We were on half-board and without being great cuisine the food was more than OK with much choice and enough variation. Very professional people, and nice and friendly on top. The place is neat and the rooms are always clean. We would without any doubt recommend the place to friends looking for an upper-class 4 stars hotel in Sor... Read more

Was very impressed by our recent stay at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte. All the staff were polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Very nice choice of food at breakfast, with omelettes cooked to order in front of you. Swimming pool complex was fantastic, lots of sun loungers, and bar attendents walking round taking orders, which was very useful. My only slight grumble was that we had a room on the fourth floor, and hence we had no sea view. The room was very comfortable and cle... Read more

Where to start? This hotel, the pool, the restaurants and bars probably have the best views in Sorrento. We stayed here for our honeymoon and from the moment you come up the driveway to a beautiful entrance, you know that you are staying in one of the best hotels in Sorrento. The hotel is a very short 5 min walk from the main street (Corso Italia) through Sorrento. Although it is supposed to be uphill from the centre, you barely notice an incline at all. We saved some money by booking a room at ... Read more

Wedding party booked into hotel but for different wedding venue Old style classical grand hotel probably fabulous in years gone by but retains its status and polish. Arrangement over 9 floors of hillside with lifts and stairs everywhere it is confusing and the pool area cascades over 5 levels with only the bottom pool of any size. Compensation is that from the sun terraces the views over Sorrento and Bay of Naples are great. We upgraded to 8th floor and room was great with terrace and views susp... Read more

We stayed here for a week having just found it on the internet. The weather was really hot so we didn't feel like doing any excursions despite the fact it's obviously a really interestjng area. The hotel is very easy to just hang out in - great areas around the pool to sunbathe, five pools although only one big enough to swim in, waiter service at the poolside, bar and restaurant poolside to eat at and stunning views from them all of the sea and Vesuvius. The food is ok at lunchtime but in the e... Read more

We had a great stay at this hotel. We stayed for 8 days B&B and came across nothing to fault. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The pool area is really good with there were always sun loungers available to use, although there are still a few idiots that put their towels out early to reserve their favourite spot. We had what was termed as a delux room which had plenty of space and was very clean. The towels and bed sheets were changed every day. From some reports ... Read more

Wonderful week at this superb hotel. The location is perfect, easy walking distance to the town centre but built into the hillside so the views from the restaurants, pools and rooms are amazing. Staff are excellent, rooms are lovely, food is good, couldn't really ask for more. Highly recommend dinner at the Bellevue restaurant which is incredibly romantic and an unbelievable view as the sun goes down with Vesuvius in the background.

Recommend hotel - helpful and charming staff, pool and location very good, bedroom views, stunning. Only downside- food at pool restaurant, the food was mediocre compared to the quality of food in local restaurants. Hotel is quiet enough and not in the very busy areas, but only 8 minutes walk to the busy Sorrento quaint streets and restaurants.

We stayed here for the last 4 nights of our honeymoon (half board) and were given a garden view room (622) even though we were suppose to have a sea view too according to our Kuoni paperwork. However, we did t spend much time in the room so it wasn't to much of an issue but it would have been nice to have what we paid for. The room we did have was nice, clean and spacious with a little balcony. The bed was made up daily and the towels were changed. The 5 pools were lovely, plenty of sun beds a... Read more

This is a lovely hotel - great location with only a ten minute walk into the centre of Sorrento. We enjoyed beautiful views over Sorrento and the Bay of Naples from the pools and restaurants and the facilities were all excellent. One criticism - when we left there was no 'thank you' or 'hope you have enjoyed your visit' - there was no eye contact at all!! Pity.

Great location and fabulous views. The cascading pools are impressive yet smaller than we expected. Rooms were clean and the hotel had interesting features due to its location. The hotel was very quiet in the evenings and we opted to eat out almost every night. The restaurant felt very 'all inclusive' which isn't really to our taste however we ate lunch in the restaurant by the pool most days which was good.

This hotel is located just outside of the center of town (5 minutes walking distance). The property is beautiful with cascading pools and excellent views. The breakfast in the morning is outstanding. Rooms are clean and very tastefully decorated. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights whilst attending a wedding in Sorrento. Good location, about 15-20 minute walk into the town at an easy pace. Lovely views from the pools which tumbled down, waterfall style. Great. Jews too from the breakfast Room. Breakfast was pretty average with most things you'd expect from a hotel of this calibre. We stayed in a standard room which was just ok. Very clean with towels changed every day but the terrace looked out onto a wall which made it feel a bit like a d... Read more

Etched into the clifftops the Grand Hotel Capodimonte is certainly grand; a vast and luxury property with stunning views of the sea and surrounding area. If you're staying here it would be a disaster not to book a sea view room; most of our evenings were spent sitting on the terrace watching the sunset over the sea and that alonemade the trip worthwhile. We couldn't make use of the cascading pool as the weather in Spring wasn't the best but the pool isn't as big as it looks in the pictures. The ... Read more

My son and I visited this hotel stayed in room 603 after a trip to Rome . The hotel is perfectly located just a small easy walk to the town . It is not a difficult walk and I'm not sure how people describe it as so . The hotel is stunning and has brilliant views . Check in was friendly and easy . Bags sent to our room . Room wasn't bad . It was a decent size for two . Bathroom large . Cleaning was ok but there were minor issues but not a big deal .towels changed daily and beds comfortable . Got ... Read more

We stayed for 5 days in August in this lovely hotel. We had the most spectacular views of the peninsula from our balcony and a spacious comfortable room. The bathroom was beautiful with a great power shower. The hotel is only a short walk to the marina and to the square. The staff are very friendly and we particularly enjoyed the service by the many pools (again with superb views!) I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sorrento.

This hotel did not disappoint. Stunning views, beautiful rooms and great service. If you want a quiet hotel then you must request and room overlooking the pool. My room was in the lower part of the hotel which overlooks the main road. It is busy and therefore you hear it. It did not bother me at all though. The pool area was lovely and all parts of the hotel were lavish and immaculately clean. Room service was excellent and cleaning staff were amazing. Breakfasts had so much choice with a chef t... My fiancee, her parents and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in the middle of August. We stayed in a sea view room (worth the upgrade for the view and nice little balcony). The hotel gives you the option to go half board but as a family we decided against it due to Sorrento square only being a 10 minute walk away. The breakfast was nice, especially the omelettes (a personal favourite). All the usual breakfast stuff was available also. We visited a couple of restaurants in the hotel throughout... Read more
