Hotel Grand Capodimonte is really lovely and peacefully located, but only a short walk from Sorrento centre and its varied shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel food was very good and the extensive breakfast menu catered for all tastes. All the hotel staff were unfailingly cheerful, attentive and helpful. Our sea view bedroom matched our expectations for comfort, facilities and cleanliness. However, a heated towel rail would have been a bonus. The views from most of the public rooms are gloriou... The Grand Hotel Capodimonte was an excellent choice (after consulting Tripadvisor) for our weeks stay. Conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Room large and clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent throughout our stay (half board) with a very good choice and very good staff. It was my partners birthday during our stay and we were going to find a restaurant for a meal on her birthday but the food was so good in the hotel we stayed there instead. The position of this hotel is excellent at the end of the town and nice and quiat. It forms two parts a large indoor dinning room and a second larger dinning room with a covered out side terrace. A beautiful five stage swimming pool with sun bathing areas. I had a suppier room with some very fine light wood matching furniture and a balcony over looking the bay, town and mountain views. All the staff were fantastic and friendly. There`s not a lot I can add to my previous review .it is still as good nothing has changed and it is really very good but seeing as this review requires more words and on a lighter note when you visit this hotel look for little girl DIUCY I think I have spelled it right she is one of the head waiters ,very efficient but I have a feeling that she does not feel comfortable with male guests so for those guys with a little mischief in them say hello

Perfect location on the edge of town. Attention to detail at the hotel itself is obvious and outstanding. Pleasant and helpful staff. AMAZING grounds. Splurge and stay in a prestige room on the upper level for a huge room, rooftop deck and gorgeous view! Wonderful breakfast is included. Pool is beautiful and well maintained. Only disappointment was a very expensive (and in my opinion unnecessary) daily parking fee.

This hotel is located on the hillside of Sorrento, meaning that every room has glorious, panoramic views of Sorrento and Vesuvius. The staff were outstanding, rooms were luxurious, with a private balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples. Breakfast was delicious, with a chef cooking eggs specifically to your liking. The breakfast room was gorgeously decorated, with lots of windows making the most of the breathtaking view. I cannot wait to revisit this beautiful hotel sometime soon.

On the downside I had food poisoning on the 3rd day, I have no idea where I got it from and I felt very ill for the next 3 days so unfortunately lost a big chunk of my 10 day holiday. We made our booking at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte because my parents had stayed there many years ago and raved about it. It made me determined that if I were ever to stay in Sorrento this would be my hotel of choice. Sorrento itself is ideally located for trips along the Amalfi Coast (where we visited Positano, Amalfi and Ravello) as well as the archeological sites of Pompeii and Heraculaneum. We were on half-board and without being great cuisine the food was more than OK with much choice and enough variation. Very professional people, and nice and friendly on top. The place is neat and the rooms are always clean. We would without any doubt recommend the place to friends looking for an upper-class 4 stars hotel in Sor... Read more

Was very impressed by our recent stay at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte. All the staff were polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Very nice choice of food at breakfast, with omelettes cooked to order in front of you. Swimming pool complex was fantastic, lots of sun loungers, and bar attendents walking round taking orders, which was very useful. My only slight grumble was that we had a room on the fourth floor, and hence we had no sea view. The room was very comfortable and cle... Read more

Where to start? This hotel, the pool, the restaurants and bars probably have the best views in Sorrento. We stayed here for our honeymoon and from the moment you come up the driveway to a beautiful entrance, you know that you are staying in one of the best hotels in Sorrento. The hotel is a very short 5 min walk from the main street (Corso Italia) through Sorrento. Although it is supposed to be uphill from the centre, you barely notice an incline at all. Wedding party booked into hotel but for different wedding venue Old style classical grand hotel probably fabulous in years gone by but retains its status and polish. Arrangement over 9 floors of hillside with lifts and stairs everywhere it is confusing and the pool area cascades over 5 levels with only the bottom pool of any size. We had a great stay at this hotel. We stayed for 8 days B&B and came across nothing to fault. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The pool area is really good with there were always sun loungers available to use, although there are still a few idiots that put their towels out early to reserve their favourite spot. Wonderful week at this superb hotel. The location is perfect, easy walking distance to the town centre but built into the hillside so the views from the restaurants, pools and rooms are amazing. Staff are excellent, rooms are lovely, food is good, couldn't really ask for more. Highly recommend dinner at the Bellevue restaurant which is incredibly romantic and an unbelievable view as the sun goes down with Vesuvius in the background.

Recommend hotel - helpful and charming staff, pool and location very good, bedroom views, stunning. Great location and fabulous views. The cascading pools are impressive yet smaller than we expected. Rooms were clean and the hotel had interesting features due to its location. The restaurant felt very 'all inclusive' which isn't really to our taste however we ate lunch in the restaurant by the pool most days which was good.

Etched into the clifftops the Grand Hotel Capodimonte is certainly grand; a vast and luxury property with stunning views of the sea and surrounding area. We were very excited to stay here based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. The front desk staff was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and our room was well-appointed with a balcony and an amazing view of the ocean as well as Sorrento, Naples and Mt Vesuvius. We had a rainy day and didn't want to venture in to town, the front desk was kind enough to make a reservation for us in the Hotel Restaurant on the terrace. This was one of the best meals we had in Italy. ... Read more

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is very close to the town and shops. Yet far enough to get you out of the noise, traffic and crowds. The room was spacious and clean with better than adequate amenities. We found the entertainment and service at the bar / lounge to be very fun, enjoyable and accommodating. Go on Wednesday night there is a duet (Man and woman) that do a great performance of Italian songs. They freely move about the room so everyone eventually has a front row seat! The p... Read more

Roof top dining with a panoramic view of Sorrento and environs was the highlight of a wonderful hotel experience. Multiple sitting areas were all lovely and enjoyable. Lobby, lounge area with bar, outside patio tables all were comfortable and memorable. The rooftop was amazing during the day and even more incredible at night. The dinner was exquisite. Would return without hesitation.

I have nothing negative to say. Top notch hotel. Never been to a better place. I am sure they exist...but spent 16 days in Italy and this was by far the best. Anything you need. Just ask someone. Beautiful rooms. Phenomenal staff. I suggest eating dinner by the pool unless dinner is included in your stay. The restaurant downstairs is a bit harried and presents itself more like a function hall then a restaurant.

About an hour transfer time from Naples airport the hotel is situated on a hillside location just a short walk from the town centre with glorious views over the Bay of Naples. It was spotlessly clean with comfortable accommodation furnished in traditional style. It was very well managed with a team of impeccably presented and friendly staff. The food in our half board package was of a high standard with even more variety in the other restaurants within the hotel at extra cost. The main restaura... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and had a very positive experience. The hotel is large and therefore a bit corporate but the staff at reception and the waiting staff in the restaurant and breakfast area are excellent and make the experience more personal. Our room was clean and well furnished and had a small balcony with a great view of the bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the distance. The food was excellent with a great choice at breakfast. The only complaint we had was the high prices fo... Read more

Beautiful hotel sitting on the side of a hill with gorgeous view of Bay of Naples. Centrally located to travel short distances and see Isle of Capri, bus down the Amalfi coast to Positano and Amalfi and local commuter train up to see the ruins of Pompeii The room we occupied was had no view because we were on a lower level but we had a balcony outside and we could smell the lemons on the trees above us. .What impressed me was the "tiled floor" of our room. It was beautiful and we didn't sl... Read more

Had a Six day stay at this hotel and loved it! Chosen as part of a group tour so breakfast was included and was delicious. The rooms had balconies, were spacious beautifully appointed and the views into Sorrento were spectacular. Staff were fluent in several languages and were very helpful. The swimming pools were also breathtaking with views to match. The location was easy walking to downtown Sorrento shopping I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!! (And probably will!)

Hotel provided the services as described on their website, food was good & varied and service and staff excellent. We probably would have preferred to eat out in the town more but can save that till next time.

We stayed 10 nights at the Capodimonte for our honeymoon no had the most amazing time. The room was bright, clean and fresh with fantastic sea views with a very comfortable bed. The food at the hotel was first class day after day and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Sorrento.

Very nice hotel perched up in the hillside, very nicely presented, very helpful and friendly front desk staff. Rooms with a lovely bay view are the highest levels so floor 4 and above with sea view, food nice but repeated then changed every other night over the 2 weeks we stayed and the portions for us were a bit small. Could of done with a lot more entertainment. 10 minutes steady walk down to centre of town, be careful at the road crossing slightly down the road outside the hotel.

My wife, daughter (8 months) and I stayed in June at this picturesque and authentic hotel. The hotel is set in the hillside over looking Sorrento town with views of mt Vesuvius. We stayed half board and the restaurant was fantastic (must wear long trousers for dinner) offering very good local cuisine. The pools are very well set out in a cascade fashion meaning that you get unique views over the town/coastline. Whilst the hotel isn't necessarily child friendly (especially in a buggy) the staff w... Read more
