Most enjoyable stay at this hotel, stayed for 1 week. Nice clean room average size with small balcony with table & 2 chairs not a great view as at the back of hotel. Plenty of storage space large wardrobe bed not that comfortable and with plastic cover under the sheet, small fridge which was v handy. Large flat screen TV usual channels. Bathroom with shower only on the small size but OK. Clean towels every day and sheets changed 3 times during our stay. Dining room a little dated and tired dé... Read more

The rooms are very nice and all with private facilities. There are fresh towels daily (more than enough for a couple) There is a hair dryer so you don't need to worry about bringing one. The roof top terrace has a lovely view of the bay of Naples Only the two top penthouse rooms have a view of the bay. The restaurant is in the basement and the staff are very accommodating (it was they who offered different types of egg to the scrambled egg in the bain marie and they also offered bacon. The... We stayed in this hotel in beautiful Sorrento from May 23rd to May 31st 2016. We travelled with The Travel Department. Our overall experience was very good, as the hotel is well located, lovely rooms (make sure to ask for balconey as all rooms do not have one) the cleanliness was top class, lovely pool area, friendly and polite staff, and a really nice courtyrad/garden area fro lunch or drinks during the day and particularly nice at nightime for a bedtime drink. However the food and dining room ... Read more

Stayed early May 2016. Lovely Hotel.Rooms clean and comfortable.TV had some English channels-mostly news. Nice little bar. Staff friendly. Nice pool and rooftop terrace.Nice little garden but noisy right beside the street. Breakfast typical European fare with the addition of eggs every day so happy with that. I was with a group so dinner included. Ate in the Hotel the first night and that was it. Not good but that's what you get on a group tour. The Hotel is situated at the end of the main stree... The hotel is kept spotless by a very good housekeeping team.the garden bar is perfect to finish the day with a drink. I can only find one small grum the room's at the front can be a bit noises at night with trafic till about 1am. But apart from that a terrific hotel. I will go back again. I have just returned from a two week stay in the Ascot. This us my sixth stay here and it will not be my last. The staff are very friendly & helpful always a smile & a cheery word. The rooms are spotless fresh towels everyday and the sheets were changed several times during my two weeks. I had a lovely room overlooking the garden & the main road. I had no problem sleeping as the shutters blocked out the busy road noise. The lovely ensuite had a good sizes shower, well lit mirror & a hairdryer. Te... Read more

The Ascot is a comfortable hotel located on the main road through Sorrento. It takes about 12 minutes to stroll to the main square, Tasso Square, one must be careful of the traffic. Most of the rooms in the hotel have a balcony which is nice to relax on but the one we occupied did not, which was a bit of a drawback. The room was of good size as was the bathroom and was nicely decorated. A flat screen TV and a kettle was provided which was good for a tea. Plenty of wardrobe storage. The room was... Read more

The hotel was nice and in a good location but nothing special. Beds were hard, air conditioning didn't work well. Neighboring hotel has a lounge singer that could be heard on speakers through the whole neighborhood (and he was terrible) until 11:30 at night. Heard even with earplugs. The front desk receptionist however was lovely and very helpful.

Hotel Ascot is located very near Tasso square and the old town where all the shops and restaurants are sited. The hotel itself is clean with very friendly staff. Cleaning and linen changing is daily and excellent. The decor could be described as dated and the towels are overdue for renewal as they are worn. Food is good and varied.

I have just returned home from 10 wonderful days at this hotel in beautiful Sorrento! After reading some recent reviews on here and seeing the hotels website i was a bit worried. Some pictures i seen made the hotel look outdated and dirty, but what I have seen is the complete opposite! To start the staff could not of been more helpful, friendly and accommodating, the rooms are basic but spotless. The shower is on the small side but with constant hot water and water pressure I was forgiving. I wa... Read more

A very nice but average Hotel. Great Location. Look for rooms at the back on the 3rd/ 4th floor as rooms to the front and side are very noisy due to a Hospital close by. Ambulance every five mins especially as most people drive scooters (sometimes on the wrong side of the road). Food nice and Hotel is very accommodating if you want a choice for Breakfast/Dinner. Nice but small swimming Pool. Cant really fault the Hotel.

Myself and himself went to Sorrento for our first time in May. We stayed in hotel ascot which is an absolute perfect location. The hotel was spotless, cleaned every day. Pool great even though it closes at 6p.m. We eat at the pool on our 1st day but this was poor. I had omelette and chips. Omelette actually burned. Hubby got toasted ham and cheese. This was a plain white bread ham toastie. no butter no cheese. Actually they don't seem to do butter in Sorrento. Apart from this the hotel i... Read more

We stayed in Ascot in Sorrento for 14 days this summer, and we liked it. Though the Ascot is a kind of old-fashion hotel, and most of the visitors are groups of tourists coming and going,we enjoyed our stay here. Had a big room with a nice bathroom, had wished to have a bigger balcony,though.. A very helpfull staff-thanks to our cleaning ladies for their patience when we liked to sleep longer than expected..And a special thanks to Maria in the breakfastroom/snackbar who always had a big smile on... The highlight of our stay in Hotel Ascot was the extremely attentive staff. Especially one lady outdid herself and got us a special rentalcar for a drive down the Amalfi coast. Hotel is cleanand quiet, and breakfast is continental plus. Only a short walk away from restaurants and the more crowded areas.

Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. Great location just up from main square. But - evening food was awful. Had pork 3 nights out 7 and twice it was looked like it came out of a packet. Roast dinner one night and my husband and I got a chicken leg. Other than that trip was great. My tip is eat down the town - some fabulous restaurants.

Ot may just about scrape a 2 star rating under the UK rating system Location - good and handy for most things, bus and train station 10 minutes away, and a bit less to main town square. Returned to the Ascot 14 years after our last visit and 28 years since our first visit. Nothing has changed from our original and subsequent trips over the years, except they have made it an even more enjoyable hotel at which to stay. Facilities, pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant and bar are all excellent. Rooms are basic but well equipped and comfortable, the beds especially so. Staff are friendly, pleasant and helpful at all times. Just come back from a week in Serrento staying at the Ascot as part of a tour package. The staff are very nice, and the rooms are basic but adequate. The free air conditioning is a real plus, and the micro fridge in the room will keep a few small cans and bottles cool. Being in the road side, the traffic noise to the front is very noisy all day and most of the night. That said, the sound proofing on the doors does a fairly good job. The bathroom is fine, although personally I would have liked a ... Read more

On a positive note, the staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the Ladies on Reception who helped with ferry timetables and general enquiries. Likewise Bar & Restaurant staff were very friendly, if not sometimes embarrassed by the food they had to dish up. Rooms were clean and plenty of storage, towels changed daily, beds very comfortable, though might be a little hard for some. Bathroom could do with a couple of shelves to store items such as toiletries and hanging space for clothe... Read more

Enjoyed our stay in Hotel Ascot. Staff were helpful and friendly especially Roberto in dining room. Food was a big disappointment and needs to be improved if guests are to rate this hotel higher.Did not like eating in dining room which was down in the basement. Holidays in Italy should be an enjoyable experience regarding Al Fresco dining. Hotel has a lovely garden with bar and this can be used for evening meals. Hotel very clean and room was very comfortable
