Architecturally, this is an impressive hotel. Murana glass lights, columns encased in contrasting leaves of wood, marble floors, acres of space and lots of bling. The quality of the service matches the décor and everything suggests that this hotel lives up to its 5 stars. We welcomed the upgrade offered to move from the back to the front of the hotel which overlooks the pool and the Bay of Naples, particularly as the rear overlooks an area of dilapidated and abandoned buildings. So far so go... Read more

Just spent a week here and thoroughly enjoy our stay, the food was fine, plenty of choice, almost too much choice. The evening menu was varied, well cooked and well presented breakfast buffet had a lot of choice. The staff were all excellent, efficient , nothing seemed to much trouble. Always friendly pleasant and helpful The room was clean, not spacious but more than adequate, Bathroom clean and pleasant with plenty of towels and shower gel shampoo etc. I have read some of the over reviews and... A stunning hotel. Beautiful surroundings. Our suite was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Receptionists always pleasant and helpful. Waiters excellent and always happy to help, especially the head waiter. A very special mention for Nikki, a great asset to the hotel.

This hotel is palatial in many ways, with large rooms, good food and very pleasant staff. It's just a shame it's location is a 20 to 25 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento along roads with either no or very narrow footpaths for most of the way. The hotel do provide a free shuttle bus, though the timings could be better, 9am, 10am, and 12 noon in the mornings, would have been better at 9, 10, and 11. No afternoon return before 4.45.

For many one of the pleasures of a break away from home is the ability to have a stroll out in the evening in the local town, parkland or garden. Not so easy to achieve at this hotel, situated in an admittedly quiet spot a couple of kilometres or so from the centre of Sorrento, and a fair walk along a pretty risky road into Sant' Agnello. The walk to Sorrento is alone an extremely busy road with narrow pavements, and requires fortitude. Not an attractive or enjoyable walk. Taste in design is o... Read more

I recently visited Sorrento and stayed at the Grand hotel. I loved Sorrento but sadly this hotel didn't meet expectations. We had only booked bed and breakfast and glad we didn't do half or full board. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is quite old and worn but my room was clean and comfortable. As others have commented, the hotel is quite a long walk ( via steep hills) to the centre of Sorrento so we always took the handy shuttle bus - taxis can range from 10-15 euros. The ho... Read more

Nice hotel but very dated and in need of TLC, staff where very friendly but rooms where of a nice size but in need of a good clean, no facilities in room for a drink apart for fridge stocked with 1 of everything Peroni, coke, shorts etc. Would have been a very nice hotel 20 yrs ago and could be again I'm glad I had it cheap some customers paid £700+ each plus flights, sorry but never worth that amount.

We were staying at the hotel as a stop on a Perillo tour (April 2007) and it was nothing short of fantastic! It was my parents 57th wedding anniversary and we arrived at the hotel and I had emailed the hotel prior to just ask if it was possible to have flowers and champagne delivered to my parents room. They went over and above. The rooms here are beautiful and spacious. We went to take pictures near the pool between the water views or the mountains; both were spectacular! When we arrived... My wife and I stayed here in June as part of the Titan Holidays Sorrento and Amalfi Coast holiday and loved it!! What made it for us was the friendly, attentive and helpful staff in the restaurant and bar areas (usually the same ones working long shifts!!). A further plus was the standard of the food, which, having read some previous Tripadvisor reviews, was a possible concern, as the buffet style food they said was offered to the Titan customers did not appear good. However, other than one Sat... Read more

Overall an enjoyable stay, a hotel with generally cheerful, helpful staff. Clean with a once grand but now fading appearance. However we booked looking to have a relaxing time in five star luxury - I‚??ve had the good fortune in life so far to have travelled extensively and I take a five star rating on a hotel to mean top-notch, offering services and amenities second to none, I‚??m afraid the Grand Hotel La Pace is an ok hotel but it is not five star, at best I would rate it three star. After arriving late we got to a nice room with a bit of cold food and the Bar was closed, the Hotel is a very nice place to stay with plenty to do around you. The Al A Carte was lovely and there was aGrand Buffet on a Saturday with entertainment. This Hotel would suit the more Mature person due to the type and mainly for sightseeing. Don't think will be going back as it is a All Inclusive from next year.

Great hotel, clean and well kept with friendly staff and a great pool. Particular mention to Samuel at the restaurant who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We only ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel but enjoyed it. A bit out of the way but the bus to sorrento is really handy as long as you time it properly. Great for families. Thanks for a great holiday!

Just had a decent 4 night stay here, although we were on the ground floor with no view. The outside space/ balcony was poor - not private and obviously used by all the smokers - not so good if you don't smoke. The staff were not interested in moving us. we also arrived 5 minutes after the restaurant closed and they offered us 'toast' after a 9 hour trip: not the best first impression. Other than that , the breakfast was lovely and the staff were generally really pleasant. Easy to get to Sorrent... Read more

A lovely hotel which you feel probably had grander days behind it. For the cost and the rating we were surprised to find no room service, no food service at the pool and less than great housekeeping. The staff were freindly and attentive when needed and overall our stay was pleasant. The view over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and surrounding hills is stunning and it's 10 min drive to Sorrento town centre meant that it was close enough to go out but as it was set back it was lovely and peacefu... I like this hotel but it not looks like 5*. Staff is very nice and helpful but rooms need bit renovations. We had b&b option what was satisfied us because for dinner and lunch we went to lokal romantic bars and restaurants. Breakfast was Ok, but just once we got it hot. If u want visiting don't use Giglio Travel. The worse company I ever used. We have recently returned from a family holiday booked via Thomson to this hotel. On the whole we had a brilliant two week holiday and the staff at the hotel were one of the reasons for this. All were friendly and if asked a question did whatever they could to assist. The food in the hotel itself was excellent at evening meal time, however, over two ... Read more

The hotel is very nice situated 10 minutes walk up a quietish side road off of the main Sorrento road in San Agnelo. Dinner was also good quality with a choice of 2 courses plus desert from the standard 3 course plus desert Italian menu. For Half boarders - the evening meal is absolutely excellent, but how they can get breakfast so wrong is beyond me - too many sweets/cakes, not enough FRESH fruit or cereals. Where's the good quality coffee we expect and why are the juices NOT FRESH? If you're gluten free, you have no chance. More choice needed. The staff though - wonderful people - a pleasure to be around - will miss them!

How this hotel received a 5 star rating is beyond comprehension, it is a relic of the past. For the money we paid the room was far too small, it was never cleaned properly, as previous day's shampoo and shower gel tubes were just left lying on the bath ledge, used tools were not folded up nicely for next day's use or replaced with fresh ones. At breakfast which is available from 07.00 Hrs the chef who is meant to cater for guests special requests did not arrive until 07.35 on the 1st morning and... Read more

This hotel has seen better days and is in need of a major renovation as well as a management mind set change. Within 24 hours of our stay, two couples, it became evident that "guests are here for the staff". Breakfast is a dismal experience, food presentation and quality can only be described as mediocre. Restaurant staff are totally undisciplined and converse loudly among themselves while pretending to serve guests. Breakfast cafeteria style-service is non-existent, it is totally self service; ...
