This hotel has been cleverly designed so that every unit has a view over the beautiful harbour. Our room was enormous with a totally separate living area, separated from the bedroom by the bathroom (and steps up & down). Spotlessly clean, wonderful comfortable bed but no safe, has the shower over bath and no English TV channels. Breakfast was first class with excellent fresh fruit (not common in Italy). Would stay here for the views and the breakfasts.

I was there in sept. The staff was amazing and super helpful. The rooms were huge with great views. The breakfast was amazing and came with lots of choices. I would definitely stay there again. Great walking distance from the train and the town.

Great location and short walk to the beach, fairly easy parking although we had a hire car and drove around fir a while looking for a spot. short bus trip to Portofino, rooms massive and food lovely.Very happy to return. Easy to get to the Cinque Terre walk (by train ride to the 1st town) Went as a couple and found it perfect altho' will return as a family of 2 with 2 infants.

We traveled to Santa Margherita with friends after a ten day tour of Italy. We are from Canada, Our tour guide suggested Santa Margherita. We planned on staying three days but extended our stay to six days. The staff at the Lido Palace are amazing, so accommodating, friendly, and pleasant. The hotel is a few moments walk from the train station, right across the street from the bus pick up and drop off, the beach is a across the street, restaurants, shopping and sight seeing are few short blocks ... Only stayed for one night, but it was a great choice. The service was very good, nice and big rooms if you choose one with ocean view. The price was very competitive compared to other hotels in the area. Just don't have breakfast there, it is just OK, but nothing special...go out and find a nice café for good and nice breakfast.

This hotel must have the best location in Sta Margherita, it is right on the seafront and just a short walk to bars, restaurants, trains, buses, ferries, taxis and churches. All its rooms have sea views and are really 3 room suites with a separate bedroom, sitting room balcony and bathroom; also, contrary to some reports on here, there is a room safe but it is hidden and if you ask reception for a key they will tell you where it is. Unfortunately I've marked it down a bit because of the food. Th... Read more

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, very large and clean rooms. We have travelled extensively and we feel that this hotel should be ranked even higher than it currently is. It is immediately adjacent to many excellent restaurants and sites, the sea is just a few steps away. Views from the rooms are fantastic. We'll stay there again if and when we get a chance to return to this great place.

This hotel offers good value for money as a base from which to explore the Liguria Region of Italy but it has some limitations as a residential hotel. On the plus side all rooms seem to be suites with a bedroom and a separate seating area and a good sized bathroom having a full sized bath. The rooms have a vast amount of storage space ?? more than we have ever had at any hotel. The rooms have excellent sea views but where these are from the bedroom the room could be noisy as they overlook the ... Read more

In Santa Margherita Ligure ?? wonderful part of Italy so much to see and do by foot, bus, boat and train. This hotel is brilliantly architecturally designed ?? took a while to understand how the rooms managed to have a sea view! Basically a slice across ?? with sitting room at front bathroom in middle (up or down steps) and bedroom with window to side or rear. The front view to the sea and opportunity too for people watching on beach, at bus stop etc. Could not fault the rooms ?? spacious ... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at Lido Palace. It is in a great location right across from the beach and in the centre of town. Very comfortable and spacious rooms overlooking the Sea. Fabulous service, extremely helpful & accommodating. Irena was over and above wonderful and she really helped make our stay extra special! Thanks Irena! Would highly recommend! ??

I traveled to Santa Margherita with my fiance last year in May. (28 years old). The Lido Palace was in a good location, however, it didn't have amenities. If I were to go back to SM I would spend a little more to stay at a hotel with a pool and a private hotel beach. The Lido Palace, however, has a very friendly staff, a good bar/restaurant area and a good breakfast. It is just across the street from the beach, however, the street is very crowded and noisy. Be careful crossing the street!! The b... Read more

This was our 3rd visit and we were looked after extremely well as usual. We take a room which is actually a suite with bedroom and living room, all with sea views and with a balcony. The buffet breakfast is substantial. The hotel has a garage which we use. Excellent location with excellent access to the beach, ferries, buses, shops and restaurants. We are planning on going back next year.

The hotel has an amazing view over the beach and ocean but the hotel standard is totally outdated. Between the beach and the hotel you have a quite busy road. For the price 200-300? per night you expect more. It's tricky to go to your room, take the elevator and then stairs up or down (depends on which level you're staying at) and enter your room. Inside your room you have even more stairs from the small sitting area to your bedroom. If you have any problems waking in stairs, this is NOT a hot... Read more

One night was not really enough at this location. It's a big old hotel in a fantastic position where we could easily enjoy a stroll along the waterfront or sit on the balcony and enjoy the ambience of the beach across the road. The breakfast was good.

Good hotel by the beach. The hotel although quite outdated, the rooms are still very clean and comfortable. Nice toiletries, good housekeeping and nice staff from front-desk to bell boys. Good selection of food at breakfast. It is pricier than it should be, but I guess you pay for the location and the sea front view. Lots of restaurants and bars just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The ferry port is a 4-5 minutes walk, where you can catch a boat to Portofino or Rapallo. Parking is available j... Read more

Excellent location and a very nice hotel with really nice staff. The room was facing the sea and while the replenishment of the shampoo, etc, was a bit erratic, it was spacious, cool, and spotless. If there was one thing they might change is the provision of a double bed rather than 2 singles pushed together. The breakfast was very nice, buffet, but you could place an order with the staff. Fizzy alcohol was on offer, but I only ever saw one partaker. There was a storm one night and it did kno... Read more

I recommend the top rooms with the terrasse ??

This hotel is in a great position. It is right across the road from the beach. Our balcony overlooked the beach which was nice. The room was very spacious which was also great. Unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good. The bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in. It was very lumpy and I woke up with a very bad back.
