We chose this hotel primarily because of its location and were not disappointed. It is a fairly easy walk across the Tiber to most of the major tourist sites. It is also on the edge of the lively Trastevere district with numerous cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel contains a chapel and was formerly a convent, though we saw nuns walking in the corridors and understand some still live there. There is a small bar in the former cloisters where breakfast is also served, though it can be eaten i... Read more

If you're looking for a charming Hotel in heart of Trastevere you have to try this hotel! It is very full of history (designed by Francesco Borromini) with charming rooms and a very peaceful garden! I was there for two days with an Irish customer of mine and they really enjoyed the international staff (very polite)! If you really want to enjoy it you have to go on the terrace during the sunset!

We were only here one night. It's a beautiful converted convent. My room was comfortable and very spacious. The bed was comfy and the shower was very nice. A couple negatives were that the AC didn't get the room cool enough for me ( admittedly I like it quite cold) but with a room fan I was comfortable. They don't provide an iron to borrow and if you need that you have to use their rather expensive ironing service. But overall it is a wonderful place and it's nice to stay in this area of Rome.

We are currently staying in this beautiful hotel, and what a beautiful oasis. After sightseeing all day, a glass of wine in the stunning garden is relaxing. The breakfast is delicious, soy milk coffee is available here!!, and the staff are wonderfully friendly. The historical monastery setting sets it apart from other hotels, and with a rooftop view if the city, you can't ask for more.

Our second stay at Donna Camilla and it was just as fabulous as we remembered. This converted convent is tucked away in a quiet section of Trastevere. We had the convenient access to the restaurants and nightlife of Trastevere without the noise or crowds. The center courtyard is immaculately groomed and the perfect garden setting to enjoy their sumptuous breakfast or read a book later in the day. It's quiet and peaceful and I wanted to never leave.

First, as you step from the street into the copious, quiet entry courtyard, you immediately feel you are entering a special world. Walking into this hotel, which is a converted convent, we expected a somewhat spartan environment. Instead, we found it to be both welcoming and elegant. It is a throw-back to a time when style was nuanced and understated. The staff was courteous, professional and friendly. The room was spacious by Rome standards, with a very comfortable bed and high quality lin... Read more

A converted monastery in Trastevere in easy walking of the sights of Rome. Very peaceful and away from the road and traffic. Great accomodation and gardens to enjoy for breakfast or just a coffee or drink. Very friendly staff and particularly George who shows a real interest in your day.

Really enjoyed our one night stay here. The hotel is lovely and they have mixed new and old perfectly. The rooms are spacious and breakfast was both hot and cold. The best thing about the hotel was the warm, friendly reception we received and the kind staff who greeted us wherever we were in the hotel. Great location, great service, great hotel.

located on a quiet street in trestevere ( 2 small blocks from the main square) which is known for its restaurants. The staff is nice enough. Breakfast was normal European continental breakfast. Lots of variety. Beds and rooms were very comfortable. This hotel is on the pricy side but you get what you pay for. I'd definitely stay in Trastevere again and in this hotel if the price decreased a bit.

If like me and you have never been to Rome before. And If you are planning to go, this is the place to stay. The staff were amazing, as was the setting of the breakfast court yard. Give it a go. You wont be disappointed. Amazing

The building is really beautiful. The decoration of the rooms look dated - should go for an elegant timeless décor as the rest of the hotel. On checking, I found that my booking from Booking.com shown 1 adult instead of 1 adult, 1 child. They asked me to pay 30 euros per day (3 days). I said that it was an error, however a child would use the same room and bed so I offered to pay for the only extra I could see: breakfast, but they told me I had to pay the 90 euros. When I complaint the recept... Read more

This is the second time in three years that I have stayed at this hotel. I first used it while attending at a conference in the city. I was impressed with the location, the breakfast, and the quality of the rooms. So, when my wife and I decided to vacation in Rome this year, I suggested we stay at the Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel. On this visit, there were some notable upgrades: most important, wifi access throughout the hotel rather than only in the lobby/breakfast area. A cell/data phone to u... Read more

This is the third time we have stayed at the hotel. Always get great service and everything about the hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay in Rome. Will always stay here when in Rome. Has a lovely rooftop where you get a great view of the city. Ideal for watching the sun go down with a Spritz in your hand
