Great location, excellent rooms, a real 4 star hotel which is difficult to expect in touristic places and large cities! We stayed with kids for three nights and really enjoyed the rooms - recently renovated, clean, spacious. Keeping in mind where is the hotel - right next to Termini station - it was a real positive surprise for us. Restaurant is on top of the building 8th floor with a great view of Rome. I am sure, whenever I come back to Rome I will book the rooms here!

The Independent is a lovely hotel with a great location and looks very stylish. I would definitely stay here again but there are just a couple of minor points to stop me giving it a 5 star rating: Firstly the breakfast is good and is served on a lovely roof top terrace (which turns into a great bar in the evening), the only problem is that even though we were staying in shoulder season and the hotel didn't seem completely full, the breakfast was very, very crowded. To the point that there were... Read more

Glad we stay at this modern hotel with so spacious room and large bathroom for 3 nights during our visit to Rome before proceed our journey to Norwegian Epic. The location is a plus point close to Termini Station. The staff gave us from the start immediately a nice welcome feeling by letting us check in at 9am which made us so comfortable to have a good rest after a long flight. So good the rooftop terrace offer city view while having breakfast.

I was in Rome for a long weekend with a friend and this hotel was perfect. Modern, stylish yet warm and comfortable and the staff answered all our wishes (extra blankets, irons, extra coffee for the room etc.). We loved the design and the room was very spacious (relatively to Rome hotel rooms). Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast, but you could enjoy it on the roof terrace which was beautiful. The only drawback for me were the hard beds, as I prefer soft, but other than that, great valu... Read more

Just a couple of minutes from Termini station makes this a great location. Easy walking distance to Trevi fountain and other major POIs.....or walk across the road and jump on the HOHO bus to visit the sites. Staff are super polite and knowledgeable........ask for recommendations for evening meals, they have choices for every palate and budget. Note....the elevator is small so it can be challenging if you are claustorophobic! Roof top breakfast is not to be missed. Rooms are spotless.

We stayed for two nights for a short city break in Rome. The location is ideal, just a stone's throw from Termini station so it is a great base from which to explore the city. The staff were all really helpful and spoke perfect English, our room was amazing, they had upgraded us from a classic to a deluxe and it was really comfortable and spacious especially considering it is a city centre hotel in Italy where you normally expect a shoe box! Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The rooms were all newly decorated and were modern and clean. The reception area and lift was a little small but functional, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The roof top panoramic views were lovely and was a very pleasant location for a pre dinner drink and watching the sunset. Breakfast was a little limited in choice and availability of the food on offer, although we did arrive near to finishing time.

Just back from a 3 day trip to Rome with our three kids. Prior to booking, I had read the reviews about the hotel which were all very positive. I booked a double room for myself and my wife and a triple room for the kids. I e-mailed the hotel before we travelled asking if there was any chance of an upgrade. When we arrived, they had located us in their annex building which is 50 metres away. They gave us effectively an apartment which had adjoining rooms - the kids all had separate bedrooms... Read more

An excellent hotel with excellent staff in a not so good location. We couldn't ask for better staff and accomodations but this hotel is located in an area next to the main Rome train terminal. room was clean. buffet breakfast was the worst ive ever seen in Italy for a 4 star hotel. all the fruit was from a can! I actually saw a young boy touch every pastry on the plate while the staff was holding it, and once he chose his, the staff put it back on the buffet? when we got back to the hotel at night we needed another shower and when we asked for two, they asked us for our room, and gave us attitude. def not a 4 star hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights whilst in Rome. Really liked the hotel, nice and clean and modern. They upgraded us to a bigger room and even gave us some free Italian wine! The staff was very helpful and assisted us with figuring out how to navigate Rome as it was our first time there. We were checked in straight away and given a map of the city and restaurant recommendations by the friendly concierge whilst our bags were taken up to our room. The room was very spacious and even had a balcony overlooking the rear of the property. Not terribly scenic but it is a city centre hotel so no issue for us. The bed was very comfortabl... Read more

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our room was amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had breakfast and this was a good continental breakfast. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel or staying here again. It was very convenient for the Roma termini and some nice restaurants too.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The experience was excellent. The hotel is located in the city centre, really close to Termini station and aldo not far from main turistic sites of the city. The satff were very helpful. They gave us recommendations every day on how to get to places or where to go. We were given maps. Breakfast was good and the rooftop really beautiful. The rooms were big, comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was perfect. We were given free bottles of water, soda... Read more

Our stay was incredible - when we arrived, we were able to check in early. Not only that, but because the staff knew we were on our honeymoon they gave us an upgrade to the biggest suite in the hotel and left us a bottle of wine in our room as a gift. It was a perfect start to our trip. The staff were all very friendly, our room was very clean, and the location was perfect being close to the train station as we were only there for one night and were arriving and departing via train.

Myself , my wife and her parents stayed in 2 rooms at the independent hotel for 3 nights in July before catching a cruise from civitivecchia. I had done quite a bit of research looking for a hotel at a decent price with good reviews and in a quiet but fairly central location. I finally settled on the independent and I am happy to say it met all of my expectations! On arrival they gave us bottles of water each while processing our details - a small but welcome touch in the 35 degree heat of Rome.... Read more

Our four night stay at the Independent was lovely. The location is perfect, as it sits just across the street from the Termini which allows you to catch a bus or the metro to anywhere in the city. We stayed in a superior double which was nice and clean and spacious and provided all of the amenities you could want. The room had a small balcony which overlooked the courtyard. Not the greatest view but it was nice to step outside and just enjoy the air. The hotel provided a breakfast buffet ... Read more

The hotel is in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk from the main train station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The family room was compact but adequate, and spotlessly clean. There wasn't very much space in the bathroom to put all of our toiletries so we had to leave most things on the floor. The rooftop terrace is breathtaking! It was the main reason we chose this hotel. You can enjoy a drink in the evening or a buffet breakfast in the morning. The hotel is a great base ... Read more

Beautiful hotel. Spacious and very clean rooms. Appears to be very new and modern. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable.Everything about my stay truly felt Amazing. The upstairs patio bar was amazing with great views. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. After a full day of activities, it was great to come back to a clean and comfortable hotel, enjoy a drink on the patio then have a very relaxing sleep. Definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely return.

What a fantastic hotel, location was perfect, 10mins walk from the termini so no need for taxi. If you like walking you can visit all the main attractions from here. About half hour away from the colosseum. We did walk to the Vatican from here wich was probably about 1hr passing the trevi Fountain on the way. Very well decorated in a contemporary style, impeccably clean with a roof bar with 360 panoramic views, this is also where breakfast is served, what a fantastic way to start the day, we... Read more

There are no faults to be found in this hotel: All the staff are unfailingly kind and caring, the room was well equipped, clean and a pleasure to stay in, the rooftop bar is a brilliant place from which to enjoy the skyline of Rome and they happen to serve a great breakfast there. Would absolutely recommend!

Giorgia and staff were absolutely amazing!!! They even acknowledged my birthday and left a gift. Very hospitable, knowledgable of the area and worked with me regardless of time to tend to any needs. The rooftop bar was also cool. The bartender was great and fun to be around. Independent Hotel worked with me to arrange a pickup from the airport at 12 am even though my flight was delayed. Great neutral location to walk in any direction to the landmarks in Rome. Clean, comfy, free wifi and a dece... Read more

The Independent is a new hotel. The rooms are big with high ceilings, well designed and modern, extremely clean and welcoming, with beautiful lighting. The staff were so warm and kind with a special thanks to Giorgia and Victoria, who took care of half our luggage after we left the hotel and visited Florence for 5 days and then returned to The Independent for the remaining 6 days in Rome. (We were welcomed back with a bottle of red wine waiting in our hotel.) The beds were comfortable and separa... Read more

If I could, I would give this hotel a 4.5, but apparently TripAdvisor doesn't do half stars... My half star deduction is solely based on the fact that our room had a pungent odor to it that rivaled any high school boys locker room... In all seriousness though, it did have a peculiar smell to it that I just could not get used to. Other than that the hotel was awesome, it was smaller than what i envisioned, but it was clean, modern, the staff was great (especially Giorgia!) and the views from the ... Read more
