Hotel was very clean and a nice Boutique place. The staff was very friendly and helpful when every we needed anything. It's centrally located and we could walk to absolutely everything. My wife and I arrived late the first night and walked to streets around it to find a restaurant that was open and felt completely safe. I would recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised about how lovely the Sofitel Hotel in Rome was, and located very close to the top of the Spanish Steps! The room was very large and comfortable, only reason I didn't give 5 stars for our room was that it was facing the rear and over a noisy lower rooftop that they were doing construction on one day, but it wasn't too bad. The staff at the Sofitel really made the stay the best, they literally jump to help you with anything, and all of the their English was perfect (a... Read more

In the city, yet not not in a heavily touristed area. We felt safe and comfortable walking at night. Many restaurants and the gardens for a relaxing walk. No selfie stick salesmen here. Room was better than most in Rome and good service from personnel. Desk staff, concierge, and doorman very helpful. Both doorman and concierge worked to get us to appliances way although it was an unusual request.

My wife and I styed for 2 nights last week. We were very, very happy there. The room was spacious and had a wonderful bath, including a deep tub my wife enjoyed for soaking, The bed was excellent. The staff was very helpful in making arrangements for us. The breakfast was superior. Best of all was a dinner at the roof top restaurant looking out over the rooftops of Rome as the sun set. By far, the best dining experience we had in Italy.

Very nice hotel wih comfortable beds and pillow options. Great breakfast buffet at 30eu. Excellent location. Room is very nice. Hotel staff is very accommodating. What I did not like: Unlike the London Sofitel where room doors close automatically and softly, our hallway sometimes sounded like a bowling alley when inconsiderate neeighbors slammed their door shut - here you must close your door there is nothing automatic about it. I have always found it difficult choosing a hotel in Rome, you want character and the authentic charm of the city but also the comforts of a well run hotel group. The Sofitel in Rome does it for me, located close to the Spanish Steps means that shopping and restaurants are close and definitely walking distance. Many of the famous sights can be a 10-20 minutes walk, ie the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Borghese Gardens, Spanish steps and Rome rail terminus. Be warned as of June 2016 the Spanish steps... Beautiful hotel just off the Via Veneto, so it was very central to everywhere. It is a very expensive hotel (our honeymoon splurge), and beautifully furnished. Our room was very luxurious although quite small. The bathroom was palatial. The downstairs rooms are very luxurious. We did not have breakfast here and preferred to have it elsewhere in one of the many coffee bars nearby. The room cleaners were wonderful.

When we arrived we were assisted with our luggage to the check-in desk and introduced to the guest relations manager Maria Teresa Sosto, who made sure throughout our stay we were satisfied and had a good experience. I stayed for 2 nights at this lovely hotel. It is much smaller than other sofitels but this added to the charm. Staff were friendly and helpful (they were very tolerant of my simple Italian!). My room was quiet, roomy and very clean. Great breakfast which catered for other diets (gluten free and vegetarian) A perfect position to explore Roma. Definitely have a drink at the roof top bar, terrific evening view.

The hotel is in a fantastic, clean area, 10 min walk from the spanish steps. The concierge was very helpful in booking dinner reservations for my family and me. The rooms are small but kept up and the beds are very comfortable. Hermes bath products are a nice touch. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 for several reasons: 1) wifi wasn't free until I nagged the front desk about limiting you to 30 min free for your whole stay (and it was very weak in the rooms, and 2) the walls are very thin so you ca... This Hotel is the overall package - location perfect, rooms exquisite but more than anything else the staff are caring, professional and you really feel really special staying there. Unfortunately after only 2 days of what should have been a 4 days stay we were called home due to an illness in the family. The Reception staff were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to support and help us. Their kindness will remain with us always and we cannot wait to return.
