nice classic hotel; more for business than for tourism purposes, because far from the city centre..(and depending on the traffic in Rome, it can take a while to arrive in the city center) Very professional, but no warm atmosphere. Nice view overlooking the city if you have a room at the right side of the hotel:

A beautiful hotel. Exquisitely decorated rooms. Very upscale. Wonderful service and the concierge desk was very helpful. The pool area and pool bar was very nice and a great place to relax after a day of tours. Spa was very nice as well. Not particularly near the Rome sites but hotel offers hourly shuttle service into the city. Ask for a room overlooking the city. You can see the Colosseum, St Peters, Pantheon, etc. from your balcony. Truly an awesome view! Walk to a local coffee ... Read more

In the past, we have always stayed close to the Spanish Steps for the location. The Rome Cavalieri surpasses the Rome Hassler. The Cavalieri staff were wonderful. The view is magnificent. The breakfast was fabulous. The room was spotless and quiet. You do have to take a taxi to the Cavalieri but the views, facility and service are worth the ride. After a long day, it was nice to relax at such a wonderful hotel. The best Waldorf Astoria Resort I have stayed at!!!!

Peace and quiet after bustling, busy Rome centre. Thirty minutes from the airport and 20 minutes in a taxi from the centre(20 euro fare). Make sure you get breakfast thrown in as food and drink here are not cheap ( 20 euro sandwich, 30 euro pasta, 8 euro water, 12 euro glass of red wine, breakfast 45 euro). Service is impeccable, classic European grandeur style but slightly soulless due to sheer size and volume.

We had 2 days event in this hotel. The first impression that came to mind on arrival.. forest..rural..sanctuary but it is in the city center. The understated exterior is in contrast with the elegant interior. The lobby which runs through a veranda overlooking to pool and the greenery was a nice spot to relax in between the event. So peaceful and calm. However, the prices of food on their lounge and restaurant made us people go out and have lunch somewhere else. Euro 15++ for an Aperol Spritz..... Read more

Only bad thing I can say is that now no other hotels stays will feel as good. Once you experience this level of quality and luxury no other hotels will be able to meet our expectations. We stayed for one night at Waldorf Astoria, as we had the chance this year to stay at the Four Seasons Bora Bora and being a HH Honor Gold Member we are very exigeant and we never let space for details, so our expectations were pretty high for this hotel. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are lovely. Pool is nice, but the hotel lets it self down in a few ways. Paying 18 euro for a deckchair by the pool is shocking. The pool bar food was pretty terrible too. 60 euro for two 'Caesar salads' with grilled shrimp is fine... but when your Caesar salad is only a bit of lettuce with a few shrimp on top... Not good enough. The chefs need to have some pride in their work, I laughed when it was put down in front of me. Staff were lovely and helpful.

On first impressions the hotel is amazing. BUT- eating on the terrace with pigeons is disturbing and unhygienic. Being charged a whopping 18 euro per person per day for a sunbed by the pool is outrageous. I understand this charge for non guests - but really for a paying guest . We stayed in a five star hotel in Spain last week and there was no charge for sun beds. We have travelled extensively and never come across this. The staff have been polite and helpful. Enjoy the best Rome has to offer by staying at the Cavalieri - on the concierge floor. Best service you will find anywhere! This was such a fabulous way to start off our Italian vacation with beautiful city views, breakfast and evening cocktails in the concierge lounge. The service was amazing and we also had assistance in obtaining delightful restaurant recommendations and reservations. Beautiful pools to relax in after long days of sightseeing. Can't wait to return!

This is my second time at this hotel. First time...5 stars. This time 3 stars. $7,000 US for a week at the hotel in a non-smoking room that suddenly became a smoking room on the 4th night when a neighboring guest checked in and started chain smoking nextdoor. Repeated polite complaints to the front desk resulted in responses that they could spray my room, shut off my air conditioning, etc. How about telling the chap next door to stop smoking?!? I was told they can't do that. Italian law r... Read more

We were quite surprised when we first arrived how busy the hotel is with so many people checking in and out. The great thing about the standard rooms here is that the room size is the same as other room types, you just pay more for the view. Having wanted to see Rome for quite some time, my wife and I booked in to the Cavalieri. We like high standards and its fair to say we were not disappointed. The hotel has an air of opulence and the art collection is worth spending time with. If we had one criticism it would be that there are many function rooms but only one main cocktail bar.
