This was our 3rd time staying at this hotel and we love coming back. Each time it is breathtaking to see the views of Rome and the feeling you get when you first arrive just stays with you. We were there in mid May and it was a beautiful day so we decided to just enjoy the hotel - the outdoor pool, the indoor pool and spa and the grounds. It was a wise decision, because the next day it was non stop rain - and there was also a medical conference and the lobby was the most crowded we've ever ... Read more

This was my second time staying and it definitely didn't disappoint! Staff are always so pleasant and helpful, and we were greeted with a free upgrade to the Imperial floor and also on our last day/night access to the Imperial Lounge which was of course great! We spent a lot of time at the outdoor pool (my favourite place!) great as always! Staff are very attentive and always polite. The pool itself is just the right temperature, it has a deep end and a shallow end. It's my favourite pool if I'm... Read more

If you love art you will love this location for it is both an art gallery and hotel. The sumptuous building contains a private collection of art exhibits with authentic rare and hugely valuable paintings as well as numerous statues and other artefacts. This is one hotel where you really must look around. (There are also exhibits by the lifts on very floor). Besides its wonderful art treasures the Cavalieri has many other tremendous aspects. It is well situated for the city centre and runs a ... Read more

If you're looking for superior service, awesome views of Rome, a luxury hotel with all the trimmings then this hotel is for you. I'd recommend getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel and not public transport like I would use in London.

In the greatest tradition of the Waldorf Astoria hotels, the Rome Cavalieri has got to be on the top of the list. We were in room 813 with the most amazing view of the city. Since we were on their Premium Floor, we had access to the Lounge which served a full breakfast, and was open most of the day and evening with assorted refreshments. But best of all was the view of Rome -- it was breathtaking. The service, from the moment we drove up to the hotel until our departure was absolutely flawless -... Read more

Hotel is one of the finest we have ever stayed in and we have been everywhere. Arrived early, room not ready. got receipt for 4 pieces which we delivered to our room while we were out. The next day discovered that a leather coat that we purchased in Florence was not delivered to room; over 2000 dollar coat. The most we could every get out of anyone was a we cant find it. No one seemed to even want to look for the coat. We asked to go to where ever lost and found was located; told no. Compl... Read more

Just learned a Waldorf Astoria, is no more then a normal Hilton... First impression when you arrive... strange purely residential area, old bunker kind of style building. Lobby feels a bit outdated, like an 60s version of the Cesar's in Vegas. Room was nice, good size. Traditional Grand Hotel style with anything you need. I've been offered an upgrade to overlook the city at EUR 90.- as I was only one night in Rome and I didn't spend much time in the room - I didn't buy it. However I think it's... Read more

As a Hilton Gold member, I have stayed at enough five-star hotels than I care to remember. Agree and expect a 5 star in Europe would be more expensive. Breakfast even for Hilton Gold is not complimentary and "only" at ?20 per person. Internet is so slow that it's useless. Then comes the catch, high speed internet comes at a cost. Swimming pool is free, sun decks come at price. No tea kettle in the room. They hope you would order that, unless you order the tea kettle itself, which surprisingly ... Read more

This is quite an expensive hotel, located on one of the hills, quite far from the centre of Rome. It has an air of faded, elegance. The rooms are very comfortable. However: wi-fi is charged, unless you join the "Hilton Honors" program; there is a ?10 daily fee to use the swimming pool; a bottle of water in the room is ?8; breakfast consists of a very wide variety of very average food. My husband and I stayed here for two nights earlier this month as part of a trip to the Rome region. Our room was on the Imperial 7th floor which has private lift access and meant the floor was very quiet. The room also had an additional soundproof door to pull over at night. This coupled with a large comfortable bed, excellent quiet air conditioning and comfortable pillows and bed linen ensured totally undisturbed sleep. Fantastic time and only 3 nights in with 4 more to go. The pool is an amazing place to take a break during the afternoon heat. Breakfast delicious. Staff very warm and helpful. Big thanks to Markus for setting up several tours for us. Went to Lapergola for dinner tonight. What a treat and the view incredible. Yes you are going to pay for taxis, sun beds etc but worth every cent and no more than any top hotel in a large City. Superior in every way!

I have stayed at many hotels around the world. I expect more from a European 5 star. When I am being charged a lot I expect the best. The pool is 18 euro to use a sunbed - fair enough if you are getting something for it but instead I was greeted with rude pool attendants who seem to want you to lay where they want as opposed to where you want. They try insisting that certain beds are already taken - tell them to sod off - I reckon they are doing thay to try and get some extra money out of you. ... Read more

This was a refreshing change after 2 nights stay at the horrendous Hilton Rome Airport. In all my travels around the world this is by far the most impressive hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything, and I mean Everything, is top notch here. Even their spa was the best I've ever experienced. There honestly isn't enough words to explain the class of this hotel, so I will leave you with these pictures.

Arrived at Rome Cavalieri on a limo just before lunch time. Boy, the place was hot and humid. The exterior of the property was covered by vines with fountains and statues all over. Once inside, you'll be overwhelmed with gold colored theme with artworks on the walls and statues lined the hallways. The place was just over the top. Stayed for 4 days and we pretty much acclimated with the weather by the time we joined our tour group.

Stayed for 3 nights, family of 5. Rooms very spacious and nicely appointed. Was great to return to hotel after a long hot day of sightseeing to cool down in the pool (which was very nice). Big complaint however, was that there is a charge to sit in the lounge chair while your kids swim!! It's one thing to charge for umbrellas or cabanas, but to charge for a lounge chair is ridiculous!

Breakfast buffet very poor and cold. Food and drinks very expensive. Unless you are a hilton honour member, sun beds cost 18 EURO EACH PER DAY, wifi 15 Euro per day per room! I dislike hotels with loyalty schemes because you are a second class citizen unless you stay regularly. Kids are not welcome at indoor pool (20 euro per day) and must not have fun in outdoor pool. This was the first stay for our European honeymoon and it did not disappoint! We loved the entire property. When you enter the grounds, you know you are in for a treat with the elegant look and attention to detail. The hotel bar in the lobby has a great staff. The front desk was extremely helpful in getting us check-in and to our room. The pool is perfect. Great size and attendants to help you with chairs and umbrellas. When reserving the hotel, I was very excited and interested in the luxury, views, and pools. We looked to stay here on our final evening of our honeymoon, excited to use the pool to relax and take in the views of Rome for one last day. I must not have done enough research, however, as my husband and I were unaware that we had to pay to use the poolside lounge chairs. We arrived around 4:30pm and got to the pool around 5:30-6pm and were going to be charged 18 euros each just to use the pool chai... Read more

I have to say I was kind'of irritated upon leaving this hotel. This hotel is very pricey - that's for sure. It is the Waldorf Astoria after all. It's beautiful - the interior is grand on a scale that makes grand seem small. The architecture is beautiful and the staff are clipped and professional but it is all impersonal and for the exorbitant rates already being charged for rooms, the smallest charges were ridiculous. Maybe best breakfast ever eaten in my life. Excellent quality. Service was just ok. I must think management must be arrogant and transmit such attitude towards employees. In general hotel is very nice, a little too far from city. It's a shame employees feel they are above customers. Some humility would be very beneficial to their management and team.

I stayed at this hotel with work colleagues during June 2016. On approach it truly is a beautiful hotel with lovely views of Rome from both your room and the bars. Check in was seamless for myself, however a few of my colleagues had to wait a very long time (beyond check in time) and this always surprises me in such a prestigious hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip to Italy and France. We arrived about 11AM and were immediately able to check-in. We were up-graded to a city and pool view location. The view was impressive especially in the early morning (Rome shrouded in mist), and in the evening with the lights of Rome beaming in the distance. Sitting outside on the balcony with a cup of tea was just the thing to start the morning- tea and coffee service is available if one asks for it. As others ha... Read more

Our only regret was that we could not stay longer at this lovely 5 start hotel. beautiful lobby, stunning rooms with views, and great service. Not to mention a 3 Michelin star restaurant that is worthy of all 3 stars. We considered this an excellent value, and will book a longer stay next time.

This hotel is beautifully appointed with high quality furnishings, artwork, and outdoor spaces. We really enjoyed the Turkish Bath & spa, the fabulous brunch, and views of Rome. As a regular guest, it was overall a great experience. My disappointment comes the lack of accommodations for Diamond members. We did not have access to the Executive Lounge and our "upgrade" was to a room with 2 twin beds. We stayed for 3 nights at 80,000 points a night; per the Hilton website, to purchase 80,000 poi... Yes, it's a bit away from the city center, but what a fantastic summer escape. Close to the Vatican, the hotel has so much art and beauty, it feels fit for any king or queen. The rooms in the hotel reminded me of the Venetial Hotel in Las Vegas, which means the rooms are beautiful, spacious and well designed. A rarity for European / "old world" hotels. I do think it's ridiculous that, if I wouldn't be a Hilton Diamond member, I'd have to pay for the swimming pool, as well as to access the sau... Read more

Upgrade to the Imperial Club. This is a first rate hotel and treats Hilton Diamond members better than any other Hilton I've stayed at previously. The location is a bit out of the way when exploring Rome, but it's quiet up here and the hotel is amazing. It's an easy 12-14 Euro cab to Trevi fountain and many other attractions. They run a complimentary shuttle on the hour, but we just used a taxi to give us more flexibility. If it's in your budget, stop at La Pergola located on the 9th floor.

Despite my inquiry, upgrade was not possible which was disappointing. Rooms are large and well equipped, service professional, meeting facilities large, bar well stocked. Food was medicro but it was a big event with 1000 people eating buffet lunch

We'd stayed at this hotel on one of our previous visits to Rome and we enjoyed our stay so we decided to stay here again. The room and bathroom were as we remembered of a fair size. However, this time we had a view of a large aerial mast and a block of flats, no view of the city as we'd had on our previous stay. The room decor does need updating and the marble floor in the bathroom was heavily stained not what you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good exactly how we... Read more

Removed from the hustle and bustle, which was exactly what we wanted for this trip to Rome. Free shuttle bus to a local square, although I'd recommend many other squares in Rome to visit & eat & shop in over the one that they service. (Piazza Navona is our favourite square.) The hotel is dated. The rooms are fine, reasonable size and clean. It has spectacular views of the city and a nice pool / gym area. Apart from that it's expensive for what you get.
