This hotel has the makings of a great place to stay, its close to tourist sites, has nice restaurants nearby and the building itself has character and history. Unfortunately the place is in need of a re-vamp. The furniture in the rooms is a hotchpotch of mismatched, disparate pieces with no thought given to the theme of the room. The reception area is very dark (don't believe the glossy pics you see on its website). We were a family of 4 and the first room we were given was horrible. The wall h... Read more

I do not write many reviews but I feel I have to record my total dissatisfaction with this one. We booked to stay three nights and one of our absolute requirements is Internet access in our room. We both have demanding work that means we have to stay in touch. The hotel offered free wifi in every room. After the first two days and at least SIX visits to the room by staff they were unable to provide wifi in our room. After two days their solution was to move us - to an inferior room! But we... hotel is situated in the very heart of Rome, next to the Piazza del Popolo. Very friendly staff, wonderful setting and architecture. We had a double room and a two-bedroom suite. Especially teh suite was breathtaking: a large livingroom, kitchenette with dining table, two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. Complete breakfast buffet and very cosy patio garden.

The memory foam bed was perfect after walking miles and miles during our stay in Rome. One thing that bears mention is the extra long curtains in the bedroom - you couldn't get by the end of the bed without tripping over them, not a well thought out plan by the interior designer. The two room suites were beautifully appointed with enough room for both my sister and I not to feel like we were tripping over each other and the complementary breakfast was plentiful and sumptuous. Our experience wit... Read more

To enjoy this hotel completely as we do, you need a feel for history, a love of the street sounds of Rome (only when you open the window of course) and a passion for unusual architecture and art. We loved this hotel from the moment we walked in. It has retained the hush and cool of a convent but skilfully transformed into a smart and luxurious hotel. The bar and breakfast rooms are cosy and relaxed. The suite we had was fabulous. And so near to great sites - just a stroll away. Excellent.

on arriving at the hotel there was no doormen , with 4 people struggling up the flight of stairs with 10 suite cases it would have been nice is someone was on the door, the reception staff were very good at checking us in and offered me an upgrade to a master suite for 40 Euros a night, seemed too good to turn down , and we were not disappointed with the one bedroom suite (room 101) a two storey apartment with views into the enclosed garden, second floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom, walk in w... Very disappointing. While the room itself was OK, the service and the facilities were not. We had a superior room, with an upstairs bedroom and downstairs lounge area. We needed wifi, and were assured we had it. We didn't! Only 1 of the 2 TVs worked and there was no wifi - some problem with the connection we were told. Breakfast was OK and the staff there were fine, but if you're taller than 5'6", don't try sitting at their wobbly tables. To top it off, we had a late flight out of Rome an... Read more

The hotel is small and older, as are most in Rome. It is well located within easy walking distance to many attractions like the Spanish Steps (10-15 minutes) and Vatican City (30 minutes). The rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms are modern with expected granite counters and marble tile. Large windows in the bedrooms open onto a center court yard that is picturesque. We had a lovely breakfast there during our stay. The best part of our stay in this wonderful hotel was the staff. Fr... Read more

Great location, very comfortable stay and nice restaurants and cafes to eat near by also. Walking distance to all the landmarks in Roma! Only thing is that the gentleman at the front desk could have provided better service when first checking in.

Nice hotel. Helpful staff. Good size rooms albeit a little dated but clean and quiet. Would stay here again. The only down side was that it could be a little noisy at night with some traffic in the side lane, but this was not overly concerning.

Older hotel, with rooms still having stained blue carpet/ Decor from the 70s. I know Rome is pricy but I really was not expecting the rooms given the lobby. They were quiet, and the location was actually pretty good, near the metro and easy to get to the vatican as well as walking distance to the shopping areas , Trevi fountain and Pantheon Breakfast was simple and fine Service was excellent.

Clean, cool and well situated for pantheon, trevi, Spanish steps etc. Check in was fast and easy, staff was excellent. Breakfast was included and good in a wonderful courtyard.. Would go back. Bathrooms clean and fairly up to date. Rooms fairly large.

We are staying here on a friends recommendation and not impressed. Good location and nice staff but our room is a let down. We have a classic suite for two adults and one child on the fold out bed. The mattress has some broken springs so we had to line the base with blankets. The rooms walls are scuffed and badly marked. Furniture and carpet very dated. When I was in the hotel corridor I could hear my family talking in our room. Main bed too hard but nice view of the hotel alfresco area. Apparen... Read more

The hotel is very central, with a lot of the tourist attractions (and shopping) within walking distance. The rooms are large and airy. The staff very helpful. The breakfast excellent (especially seating in the open central courtyard). Parking in right next door, so fairly convenient if driving (however, entry time for cars is restricted, and if I remember correctly, only after 7 pm).

We stayed for 3 nights in July and found the hotel to be in a good location close to metro stops and the centre of Rome... we did, of course, pick the hotel based on these factors so that was not a surprise. The room (an apartment on the second floor) was a little dated and the corridors were in need of some modernising (although the 1st floor appeared to be in better condition so perhaps this is a work in progress). The only other issue was the wifi which was free to use in the lobby but req... Read more

This hotel is in a really good setting just off the Piazza de Popollo. The building is in an old convent and on first sight is impressive but begin to look more closely and the cracks appear. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was appreciated but the rooms were very tired with many marks on the walls. The beds were comfortable with good linen and there were good towels. However, in the bathroom the bath plug did not work and the shower head didn't function properly. This was the impressio... Read more

We booked a Superior Double. We got a Superior Double but it was smaller than pictured. I also think they must have redone the pictured room. Our room definitely needed painting, carpeting and new mattresses. Also advertise by Spanish steps. I didn't count this as being by them.

Outdated hotel, rooms need restoration and the hotel charge you for any basics such as tv, boiled water, and boiler nothing in there comes in the favor of the guest!!!!!!!!!!! Nevertheless great location. Would not recommend for families
