This was our second visit to Rome this year. In February I highly recommended Hotel Raphaello that had prices under 100 euros. Now in May they had tripled their prices. So I went hunting for a better priced hotel.....found it, hotel Montecarlo offered for 100 euros in May a great room, clean and with all the comforts, great staff, only 10 minutes from the train station close to subway stations and in area where a few embassies stand, therefore safe.

We stay here for 4 nights. Very comfortable, quite and the staff was very helpful with everything you need. Room was small, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a regular size but shower was smaller than a ships shower. Breakfast at 11 euros was good but too much $ if you don't eat a lot. Overall was a quiet and restful place after a day of sightseeing, just 10 min walk to Termini Station. Embassies all around us, felt very safe!

What a wonderful hotel in a great location! Spent several days here and loved every moment! The staff was unbelievably nice and found breakfast in the morning delicious. If you like dancing, check out the Yellow Bar 2 blocks down. The hotel was very clean and well kept.

we just use it one night, at our last night because of termini station destination is short. it's comfortable, friendly, well-decorated hotel. But if you want to walk everywhere, you can't choose termini area. In termini area, you have to use bus or metro to every piazza, fountain, collesium etc..

Great hotel. Very well appointed room. The hot water was hot and the AC was cold, you can't ask for anything better. All employees were so very helpful offering suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Very safe neighborhood. You are surrounded by various embassies so the military and police are everywhere. We felt very safe, even after midnight.

I went to this hotel with my parents. At the beginning we were a little bit hesitant. The location didn't feel right and we didn't expect the city tax. Nevertheless, we had a better appreciation of the place as days went by. The place was clean, the beds a little bit hard but ok, and the air conditioner worked perfectly. The breakfast was good and finally the location allow us to visit Rome better due to the proximity to Termini, bus stops and metro. On the downside, rooms were a little bit too ... Read more

Lovely stay in hotel montecarlo, on arriving the man at reception really helped and advised us on things to do in Rome! The room was dark but yet very clean. No street noise or noise of others in the hotel at night. And really should mention its 5 mins away from the BEST ice cream in the world ... Romana, please try it!! Only down fall is that there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there is a mini fridge.

Traveling solo, 4 days in Rome was the last stop on my tour through Europe. Hotel was in a busy urban area of the city which provided walking access to the Metro, restaurants, and several other hotels. However, there was a lot of outside noise. Several embassies and consulates located very close to hotel, lots of Italian soldiers made the area feel very safe and secure. The hotel , furnishings and rooms were a little dated, but clean. We were pleased we had selected this hotel for our first visit to Rome, being confused about which area to choose to visit the main sights yet away from the general city hubbub. We ate well at nearby restaurants and were very near the Termini Station. The City tour buses stopped nearby, it was good to hop on one of those to get our bearings. They run a complete loop around Central Rome, so you get off and on again wherever you choose. The Hotel is very clean, efficiently run with very friendly, ... Read more

We stayed in this hotel on our recent trip to Rome. This hotel is on the outskirts of the city, on the northeast side. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the train station. The front desk staff were nice and spoke pretty good English. Our room was nice and larger than I expected. The bathroom was also nice except for the VERY SMALL shower. It is within walking distance to the train station, about a 10 minute walk. There are not a lot of restaurants near, so we ate more toward the city. ... Read more

This is a charming hotel in walking distance of the train station. Once at the hotel, we took taxis to all of the main attractions in the city. All of the employees at the front desk were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Our room was small but comfortable and sufficient for our needs, though the shower was very small and tight. The breakfast included a nice assortment of breads, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, and meats/cheese.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Very old rooms desperately in need of renovating. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were flat as pancakes. The room was stale-smelling, the decor was old and the bedspread and draperies were dirty looking. The bathroom was a total disaster and desperately in need of updating. The shower was horrible, every time we used it there was a floor full of water. Totally dissatisfied, would never book this hotel again.

We stayed here very recently. The staff we found to be very helpful and friendly. The downside ; rooms are desperate for a facelift, decor is tired and outdated. The bathroom in the 'superior' room that we stayed in was very badly designed. The air conditioning didn't work well so it was not appreciated on a very warm August night. A few things about this place you should know, the shower is tiny I mean small. I am 5'3 and I struggled to move around in it, my fiancé had even more difficulty. The staff is less than friendly and forget about asking for help they seem to be bothered by it. The free "wifi" is only good for one device so if more than one person in your room try's to connect forget about it won't happen.

Apart from the 1st night where they had overbooked and put us in a crappy hotel down the street, they made up for it by upgrading us to one of their superior rooms for the duration of our stay. The room was small but very comfortable and very clean. The concierge staff were great at recommending restaurants, sightseeing, etc. Breakfast was normal fare but it was all fresh and well presented, served on the rooftop, which was really nice.
