We wanted to enjoy Rome without making a substantial dent in our pockets, so decided that we would have basic accommodation and spend what money we had on food and sights. The MF hotel suited that plan. It is situated on the north side of Rome, just outside the city walls and about a mile away from the Roma Termini rail and bus station. A strange combination of residential apartment and hotel in that the MF is the 3rd and 4th floor of the block. The lift appears dodgy and was tight for u... Read more

This hotel was reasonably priced and in a good location albeit is located on the third and fourth floor of a building, the beds are good and the bathroom had all the facilities you require. Everything is accessible on foot and there are bars restaurants cafes parks all on the door step and it isn't a noise area. The staff were friendly and helpful, they even can given good recommendations or where to eat, drink and visit. The wifi was free and easy to access. Breakfast is brought to your room ... Read more

My partner and I spent 3 nights in this hotel and on arrival I was slightly worried as it looks like an apartment building and not like a hotel. However we checked in and everything was very smooth. The staff are very friendly and gave us a map of Rome with the local bus stops and Metro which was a god send! Our room was clean and tidy and the huge windows sold it for me looking out over the park. Don't get me wrong its not really close to things so you would have to be quite mobile but the bus ... We really did have a wonderful stay at the MF! A little daunting turning up in the middle of the night to an apartment building but check in wasn't a problem as the desk is staffed 24 hours a day by very friendly and helpful staff. The lift is pretty hilarious - anyone scared of lifts or confined spaces should use the stairs though. The room decor was not quite to our taste but it was clean and comfortable with free wifi which is the main thing. The breakfast was a great start to the day and ... Read more

Finding out that my normal hotel has closed down I booked this hotel on last minute.com . It is located in an apartment block taking over three floors 44 via Savoia is a grand building in a pleasant street. Quiet after the early morning rush hour when the car horns are pressed incessantly, The staff in particular Frederico and Simona were very helpful. The breakfast brought to the room was adequate. The room was clean and bright with a good sized shower room. The Security getting in and out is s... Read more

What a good hotel, little out of Rome but in a nice quiet area, plenty of bars and restaurants around for dinner. The walk to the main attractions isn't far, we walked everywhere and only got the metro to Vatican City. Hotel is clean, nicely refurbished and safe! Breakfast was tasty and brought to your room every morning at a time you request! Other peoples reviews state it was noisey and we were across the hall from reception but it was very quiet and didn't hear much. Would definitely recommen... Read more

Very helpful staff once we had found the hotel. Taxi went round and round trying to locate hotel as hotel nameplate was very small and we had to ring to be let in.. It was dark and we needed a torch to choose the correct bell. breakfast was good although one needed to be careful not to get nutella on the sheets as impossible to use the table. Hotel was quet and it was further to walk to the metro than we had been told We like walking but it was extremely hot while we were there.. Bed comfort... Read more

Spent a few nights at MF hotel, Rome. Location was good and staff very helpful. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, TV, air conditioning good. Lift small but adequate. Breakfast enough to get you going and delivered to room every morning. Variety would be better as same continental food every morning and juice tasteless. Plenty of restaurants, bars etc nearby. One of our family members left something important behind. Staff were incredible in helping to get item back safely. Thank you so much for you... Read more

Looks really quirky and modern on the photos but what they have tried to do with the decor I do not know. The owners have obviously tried to modernise it with good ideas but little skill. Furniture was random but the bed was ultra comfy. Air con worked well and the bathroom was tastefully done. We were a group of 6 so the breakfast in the room idea was a little unsociable. There are residents in the hotel but I did notice a room downstairs that could maybe utilised for a breakfast room. The staf... Read more

I can contacted the hotel the night before we were due to arrive to confirm our booking as low cos holidays had gone bankrupt this was on 15/7/16 the man on the phone said our booking was secure and that he was looking forward to our arrival 9 hours later. Once we arrived on 16/7/16 he advised our room has been cancelled due to the company going bankrupt and that our room had been resold. I was furious as i contacted them the night before we had no phone call or email to advise of the situation... Read more

The hotel was quite far from the main termini especially hard to find late at night! More or less the same as what people have said...bit weird 2 floors of apartments and then the hotel! Breakfast was really handy and dead on time. Rooms were basic but clean and showers were great! We were right next to the reception area but didn't really hear any noise! Best thing about the hotel are the staff...they were lovely! Would go back again!

When we first arrived, we wasn't impressed with our room, that was right next to reception, it was tiny with no storage, my husband spoke to them and was told we would be moved the next day! Next day we woke to find low cost holidays had gone bust! And our room was no longer paid for, so we had to pay again, we did this as we didn't want it spoil ingenious first time in Rome and I'd deal with it when I returned. It wasn't this hotel thought that low cost had not paid our money to them. We th... Read more

Further away from the sites than advertised. Nearest is trevi fountain - 35 min walk. If you stay here buy a Roma pass and use the metro to go to the sites. However even then the nearest metro station is 25 minute walk. Not too bad if you don't mind walking, but consider this would be a daily occurrence alongside a lot of walking through the centre. Not bad for the price you pay. Breakfast could be improved, was basic and not that tasty. However can't fault the staff, both members we spoke to sp... Read more

If you're looking for a clean and comfortable base from which to explore Rome which is good value for money then this little hotel is ideal. Fortunately I'd read reviews about it before travelling so I knew to expect that it was on two floors of a building of apartments. Yes, it looks nothing like a hotel but is quite quaint and quirky. The tiny and wobbly lift can get you up to the little reception area but we preferred the stairs. We arrived just after noon but our rooms were ready and we che... Read more

This hotel is three minute walk away from a beautiful park! It's also a 15 minute walk to the central train station which makes anywhere a short journey. Staff were very helpful and all multi-lingual! Would definitely visit again!

This hotel was the cheapest i could find near enough to the city center of rome to go and explore. The hotel is in a complex of flats on the third floor. Take the old lift or use the stairs to the top (the lift looks scary but rest assured it does the job perfectly well). Our room was clean and spacious enough for the two of us, the bathroom was also clean and of a good size. The shower was excellent the the water power was great too. Our safe inside the room didn't work though and that was a do... Read more

The hotel was easy to find, very central and close to lots of transport links and amenities. Via Savoia is very quiet and the hotel room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast in the room was tasty and the staff at the hotel was extremely nice and accommodating. Great value for money! We loved it and will be back!
