When we arrived on the Thursday morning we were met by friendly staff. Checked in but needed to wait until 14:00 for the plastic keycard (that didn't work) Once we entered the room (junior suite 607) we were initially impressed by the 2 floor setup. This though was to be short lived. The large bed was awful. The mattress had a nasty dip to the middle so it meant discomfort at night. While frosted glass walls and door are a nice modern touch for bathrooms, it's fine when you're alone, but s... Read more

We were quite happy to find a 5***** hotel well located via booking.com at a reasonable price for a capital city. "Only" 250‚?¨ / night. We were happy to be upgraded in the duplex suite with two bathrooms and a giant jacuzzi. But... - everything in the hotel is a little tired, dull and lacks TLC - meal on the 1st night was awful, tasting horrible, badtly presented (salad with brown edges from a bag) and... you can't be a 5 star hotel with no concierge. there is a desk. but no one is there. i walked by 20+ time trying to get information on cycle tours of the city. front desk recommended i use google to book my activities. and that they could do no better.

I will start by saying that I have visited this hotel in the past (about 6 years ago). I had a better experience the first time and rebooked here because it was centrally located and within walking distance from the train station. We booked for 3 nights. Customer service: Overall, the staff is professional and helpful with the exception of a few. We arrived early so they kept our luggage and we were told to return as the room would be ready around 2pm. It was ready as promised and our luggage ... Read more

It was my first time to Europe and off the back of 32 hours of flying I was extremely happy to see any kind of bed that wasn't a plane seat. We were greeted by lovely, warm staff upon entry & our hotel room was clean and inviting. Travelling with my sister meant that we had two single beds which were both comfortable & in utilising both the bath and shower facilities we had absolutely no complaints. They are in the process of doing renovations at the moment which may be a slight hinderance to s... Read more

Centrally Located to Roma Termini Station and 20 min walk to old Rome. We are Accor Members and this was listed as one of there partnered hotels & is a Sofitel. It was also rate 5 star (Italian stars i guess). The room not ready and the pre arranged Bottle of Wine was not waiting as ordered. It never turned up at all. We booked a Junior Suite. It was a two storey room with glass stairs. Try getting your luggage up glass stairs, i think the porter could have done this (again 5 star here). The ... Read more

I like this brand! But this hotel does not live up to the rest of them. First, by putting "Luxury" in the hotel name, does not make it a luxury hotel, and that is also true for this hotel. Considering the price, it is nothing special and you can get a lot more by going somewhere else. That said, the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the roof bar is great for an evening drink overlooking the ancient city.

I am a Le Accor hotel member and love staying at their M Gallery hotels as they typically are so quirky. I have stayed at Hanoi, Bangkok, Jogjakarta and Adelaide. Each one has been amazing, Bangkok was the best. However, Le Griffe Hotel was so unwelcoming. After travelling for 24hrs, two flights and with a 2yr old son the last thing you want is a receptionist that barely says a word, not even "Welcome to Le Griffe Hotel, have you travelled far" or "Welcome back to another Accor Hotel Mr xxxx. I spent 4 nights in Rome with my boyfriend last September (2015). We chose La Griffe Roma MGallery due to its 5 star rating and its location in the centre of Rome. Our highlights included: - The attentive management ‚?? After I expressed concerns via email prior to our trip that our bathroom walls and door would be see-through (had seen this from TripAdvisor pictures), we received an upgrade to a split level suite with 2 bathrooms (one of which had normal doors and walls). - The fantastic loc... Spent 3 nights at the hotel as an anniversary celebration. It was our first time in Rome and we found the location great for exploring the city. All the staff were so polite and helpful, particularly at check-in where we were given a map and all the top places were pointed out and advice was given on best transportation to get to the Vatican. The room was quirky as we were split across two floors with a sitting area downstairs and then a spiral glass staircase to the bedroom and bathroom. It... Read more

After an unfortunate run in at check in with an incompetent and laughably rude glorified desk clerk, my family of five settled into two deluxe rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay at this perfectly located, comfortable hotel in the heart of the Eternal City. Like many hotels in Europe, this one had its quirks and charms. An odd shower modeled after a telephone booth made bathing an interesting experience, as well as at least 20 light switches that never seemed to place light where... Read more

We stayed at La Griffe 9 years ago and had a sensational stay. This time was filled with disappointments. The first was the officious female reception staff member who checked us into a room that was not makeup and absolutely filthy. It then took 15 minutes to be located to a clean room that has 2 king singles and not a queen bed. The stand out staff member was Sylvia who was charming professional and extremely accomodating. We were eventually upgraded to a new room that was quite good.

The room we had was excellent if some what on the small side - the balcony was a bonus. Breakfast was rather limited in choice - again on the poor side. The restaurant recommended by the concierge turned out to be an expensive one with poor quality food - we found better ones on our own.

Looks fine on the surface, but then you start to spot the bits which are wrong. Corridors looking shabby, lights coming away from the wall, and the strange opaque bathroom door, which doesn't close properly. This is fine if you're with your partner, but when you're sharing the room, not good. The breakfast was good, with an extensive choice. Staff were helpful, and there's free wifi, but that doesn't make up for things not quite living up to its 5 star status.

First up I travel alot, and am an Accor member. Best in class of its kind is Sofitel So on Bangkok. We made a call to stay here for 2 nights with a 6 year old and a 9 month old based on the positive reviews. There is a lot to potentially like. It's part of Accor's quirky Mgallery brand of hotels for a start. But you have to deliver on a few things to start. We booked a junior suite. Lots of good stuff. Like a lift between the upper and the lower floor. Fantastic when you are 6. But for us adul... Read more

The hotel itself is very nice and in a good location near piazza republica. We got a junior suite, which was 2 floors, and was nice and spacious. The staff was friendly. The only thing that was weird is that our room did not come with a shower, only a bath! This was a big nuisance, we managed to change our room to one with a shower. Rooftop terrace was really nice. Shallow view and sunset view!

La Griffe is easily my go-to hotel when in Roma and for my clients. I am a Travel Concierge and recommend this hotel often for it's ease to get to monuments, fabulous rooftop breakfasts, dinner and bar - unbelievable views. The rooms can be on the typically small side for their Classic/Standard category but the Deluxe rooms are two levels with a loft! We have stayed in the Hotel for a weekend following a Mediterranean Cruise. The hotel is conveniently located on Via Nationale, just a few minutes away from Roma Termini. A lot of tourist sites are within 10-20 minutes walking distance making the hotel also a perfect gateway to discover Rome. Our room was on the 8th floor facing the yard at the back so it was very quiet, which we appreciated. This property has been refurbished quite recently, but the rooms I've seen are so hopeless in many ways that it is too painful to describe them. During the weekend I saw quite a few people wanting to change their room, as did we. Breakfast is on the top floor with a wonderful view over the roofs, but far from the level of a breakfast in a five star hotel (amazingly the head waiter admitted this). This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and now will think hard before returning. The rooms are small as you'd expect in a boutique hotel but the customer service was off the mark this time. A fault with the shower was ignored and the air conditioning was not working properly. The plus side of this hotel is its great location and lovely roof top bar and terrace where you take breakfast. If the management choose to get on top of these issues this hotel could justify it's 5* rating.

The bad reviews are mostly from what I can tell are Americans from cruises that have been stuck in budget rooms at the hotel by their travel agents. Remember you get what you pay for! Although I think the hotel is good and fit the purpose ( having a good night of sleep ) this Hotel seems to be a little bit overrated. This definitely isn't a 5 starts hotel, at least for my standards. The good thing is that the Hotel is very well situated. The location is very good, right in the middle of Rome.
