Central location of this hotel is its main plus point. Our room was a decent size and very clean, but the shower room was so small the floor was all wet after using it and the shower curtain stuck to us, something I hate! There was also a hole in the shower room door where someone had opened the door too far and the handle of the room door went through it!! Other people in our group complained of holes in furniture and dodgy electrics. The breakfast was ok if you share the Roman penchant for... Read more

I love this hotel! Very close to many sights and to the train/bus station. The staff are SO helpful and friendly. I rarely do less than 4 star and was shocked at the small size of the room, the tiny bathroom and the way the shower flooded the bathroom floor, disliked the lack of lighting - one bedside light (the 2nd didn't work), however I enjoyed the continental breakfast - yes more sweet than savoury but plenty to eat. The door handle fell off and did cause a problem with closing/locking t... Read more

As said by so many other visitors, the location of this hotel is very good if a little noisy at night and early morning. The general areas are very clean and in very good condition. The breakfast room is both clean and spacious with the food being quite adequate, especially if you have a sweet tooth! We did, however, find the range of food rather limited, even for a continental breakfast. All of the staff were both pleasant and very helpful with very good english spoken by all of the management.... Read more

If you need a place to visit Rome and be close to most atractions on a budget this is a great location. The rooms and furniture need some work but the heating works great, the water is hot and the rooms are clean, the towels and bed sheets are crisp so you get everything you need for a citybreak in Rome.

Initially, we worried after reading the bad reviews, but our room turned out to be clean and spacious. The front desk staff we met ( total of 5) were all very very helpful and friendly, always smiling. Breakfast spread was very limited but we didn't mind since we wanted to eat out instead . Overall a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is within walking distance of sights such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain etc! The wifi connection is flawless throughout the whole hotel. While the style is old fashioned the rooms are perfect for people that are sightseeing and only need to be there to shower and sleep. They're clean and the water pressure is good. You can hear the other guests in their rooms so if you're a light sleeper the aircon helps block out any external noise.

Despite the negative reviews we booked this hotel . It is what you pay for indeed very basic very basic ! Location is the best feature ! very close to the termini and many bus stops at via nazionali . Walking distance from the Spanish Steps & Fontain Trevi . Very central The hotel itself is very dated therefore various things are broken , blocked .Some TLC would add a lot of value to the place . But I gather the Romans weren't bothered about review . Our shower worked ok , but sink was blo... Read more

I made a booking with this hotel and had a free cancellation policy. I cancelled the booking on the same day due to circumstances changing. They charged my credit card £99 and have not responded to phone calls or emails. Do not book with them unless you want your money stolen.

I've stayed here a couple of times, and location is the thing. The street (Via Quattro Fontane) ia very beautiful and scenic, in walking distance to almost all attractions, I remember not using Metro at all for days. Hotel is ok for the money. Rooms are decent with suprisingly spacious bathrooms. Poor internet (but I never found good one in Italy) and poor breakfast, but there are some shops and coffee shops near where you can pick your cappucinno and corneti. Nevertheless, location is so great,... Read more

My family and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. When we arrived we weren't acknowledged at all by the reception staff even though the reception is the smallest space ever. The woman behind the desk was speaking to a gentleman and after her conversation ended she started with 'who are you' no hello or anything particularly welcoming. We were given our room keys and told we could use the lift or the stairs, we took the lift as we had cases and when the doors opened on the 3rd floor there was tow... Read more

This is definitely a trade off of location for quality. The hotel is very central but the hotel itself/rooms are really very basic- lots of missing ceiling panels and buckets for dripping water and no toilet seat in our bathroom! The breakfast was very underwhelming, coffee and juice machines really need to be changed or cleaned. Ok if you intend to spend very little time there as we did but I'd imagine it would be below a lot of peoples standards.

A short walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. I asked if there was a good place to eat nearby when i checked in - the lady at the desk laughed and said just step outside. Maybe a dozen restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny, the breakfast is nothing to get excited about. The wifi worked great. It is a couple minutes from the nearest underground, so if you just need a base for sight seeing it will work.

I traveled with my son for a four day visit to Rome and chose to stay at hotel Zara which I booked through based on location - the reviews were not all great but I made my decision based on price and location. I wasn't expecting much so wasn't disappointed or even remotely bothered because our days were spent outside mainly - we needed a safe and clean place. The room was cold but I later came to find out that the government only permits the heating to come on after 10 November...... Read more

Great location and friendly staff. Spacious room but felt stuffy when I entered. I opened all windows to let fresh air come in. The complimentary breakfast is minimal, you really get what you pay for.

Great hotel in an ancient and magical building. The location is the main value for your money - the hotel located close to Via Nazionale St (many shops, restaurants and co) and just 10 minutes walk from the center of Rome (Piazza Barberini, Fontana de Trevi and so on). The main city transportation station (Termini) is only 10 minutes walk and there is a metro station just 5 minutes walk (La Republican). The stuff were helpful and the room service was great. The rooms may not the largest you eve... Read more
